Hi all, just a quick question.
I forgot to eat breakfast before church this morning and by the time we came home it was 1pm. I just finished eating yogurt and an apple.
Question: I was wondering if it was OK to eat lunch, too because we're leaving for my son's game and wont be home until 5:30? If I don't eat lunch now, dinner will be prolonged until midnight!!!
Maybe I can pack it and eat it a little while later?
Oh well, thank you!

Kelli, I wouldn't eat 2 meals too close together.
This one seems like a good question for the veterans or your consultant.
If I were to guess, I would think it's better to eat your meals at 4 hours apart rather than eat 2 meals, not eat one at all, or eat late and go to bed with food on your stomach. I hope someone else has better advice.

No matter what it is a deviation.
I would go with the 2 meals instead of three so close together and then eating so late (after midnight).

I guess I would have eaten at 1:00, then 2nd meal at 5:30 or 6 and then waited until 10:30 or 11:00pm to eat again and THEN tried to stay awake until about mid-night, at least. Sometimes I forget about the day's schedule and have to make some weird, wacky adjustments. But I'd rather make these adjustments than screw up my hormones, etc.

{hi} there 4MAMA
Well, clearly it’s all about planning… and by now we all know that the closer you follow your eating plan, the better your results will be.
My advise in this situation would have been to have one of the more filling options from Meal 2 for lunch and then to have Dinner from Meal 3, starting 5 hours after you finished Meal 2. Then, if you are still up and about, you could have a plain yogurt later in the evening from Meal 1.
The problem with skipping meals is that you train your body to store fat – so this should be avoided. The second problem I could foresee is that you could become really, really very hungry  having eaten only a yoghurt all day long!! :hypnotic:
If you now find yourself very hungry :hungry: today, I recommend that you double up on the vitamin by taking 1 with breakfast and 1 with lunch… and that you select the more filling meals of egg, fish, chicken or meat and veggies rather than yogurt or cheese meals.
Hope your survived the day!!!

Thanks again Shasha for your great advice! :hii:
I need to re-visit the recipe section and start changing things up a bit. Sometimes I feel too lazy to be creative, and then the thought of eating an ordinary meal just doesn't spark my interest, hence skipping dinner occurs.
I understand the importance of NOT skipping meals. I cant believe our bodies would store fat that way, just because we're not hungry? I see why pre-Cohen days I failed to lose weight.
Makes so much sense!!:nerd:
Have a blessed week!

{hi} there 4MAMA
It’s actually quiet simple – the body feels threatened when you don’t eat regularly – almost like it’s not sure when the next meal will be coming along – your body doesn’t know: are you faced with famine / war etc… so, it slows down your metabolism to make the very most of every little morsel coming in… storing as much as possible in case the next meal simply doesn’t arrive any time soon. That’s why it is important to eat 3 meals per day.
Same happens with water – one of the quickest cures to most water retention is to drink more water every day – the body soon adjusts to the fact that it has moved from a dry desert to a flourishing oasis and so it releases it’s own stores…
Now you know… and, you are equipped with knowledge that will help you to make better choices!!

GREAT question 4MAMA!! I've been in this situation too and have made sure that I ate ALL of my snacks/crackers and my 2 largest meals. It's not my intent to skip anything, but there have been a few days over the course of the last 10 weeks that timing, classes, LIFE simply didn't cooperate and left me missing a meal. NEVER two days in a row though!

So happy to hear from you, Stephanie!:party3:
I think Shasha's advice is right on:party6:. In the past I tried to fast a meal or two and by the 3rd day I was famished and lost nothing while feeling more bloated then ever!
:love6:Glad to know you are faithful, and there for all of us!
