Hey everyone, I just want to tell you that my mother an I are doing this together. My mother is TravlinOma... the gourmet cook. I thought I'd post a picture of the 2 of us taken on vacation June 2007. Neither of us have changed in our looks much since then, so it would be a good "Before" shot of us together. I was actually considering going over and getting pictures of us by ourselves. It will be fun to get an "After" pic of the 2 of us.

Great picture of you both. You'll be posting your after pictures before you know it. I think I read in the post that you live in Napa TravlinOma. I was just there last month for a family get-together, it was so lovely with all the mustard blooming, but the most rain Ive seen in years. My best friend and her hubby were there as well (were the 3 chubsters club) and all made a pact to lose all our weight so we can return and "really" enjoy ourselves without feeling uncomfortable.Our goal is to be able to bring our bikes so we can peddle around and enjoy some of the backroad scenery. One great thing for you is all the lovely frest produce you get to enjoy. But I kinda feel for you cause it would be KILLER for me to live in Napa with all the delicious cheeses, produce, breads, wine, gourmet restaurants, more wine and my fave champagne (I love Mustards Grill. My same friend and I had a pasta dish there one time and thought we were both gonna lick the plate clean it was so yummy. This time she died cause she got to meet Michael Chiarello when we went to his new place Bottega. He is cute!).

Anyway, you two girls keeping on moving towards your goal. You'll be posting your after pictures before you know it.We can do it all of us. Maybe when we all meet our goals we can meet for a glass of wine. Cheers! :party7:

Thanks for the positive comments Phillis and RBride. We don't live in Napa, per se, but it is very close to us. And YES... we have fabulous food, wine and festivities that go on. Just yesterday, TravlinOma (which you are correct... Oma meaning "grandma" in German... but she isn't German. We lived in Germany for 3 years, though) and her husband were looking at what there is to do around the area for fun to go an enjoy the beautiful weather we are having currently. Many of the activities are centered around wine tasting and food sampling. So for now, both of us are going to steer clear of that sort of activity. TravlinOma is so lucky to have a supporting husband in this. He's all of 120 lbs. and in the best shape ever....lucky him. I'm lucky to have a cat to eat some of the left over scraps from my meat that I can't use.

Hey... the next time you are in the Napa area and you decide to do that bike ride, you should give me a call and I'll come with you. Actually, I'd recommend going to Sonoma Valley instead. There are some fabulous wineries there and extremely beautiful to go bike riding from one winery to another. Afterwards, you can try one of the many delicious restuarants in Sonoma city. I feel so blessed to live in such a beautiful area. Maybe our "after" shot will be standing in the ocean again. ::rolling2:

I think JoAnn and I will post a picture at 4 weeks. I will be leaving for 2 months, and will have a real challenge with staying on the program. We will be traveling with our RV, so I will be able to take care of all my meals. But, I've told my husband - no daily ice cream cones. He groaned. LOL I'll send JoAnn a picture when I reach goal while traveling, and she can post. It is so great to have this forum and talk to all of you (I feel like I'm talking to you). It is a great support system.

TravlinOma (Mom) has only 5 pounds to be at her goal weight and she has her refeed program when she is ready to start. We both have gotten our waists back. I started out as a size 16 and now I'm firmly in a size 12 and they are beginning to get baggy on me.

I have signed up for another 12 weeks to continue on to my goal weight. I will post a FINAL picture of the 2 of us when we are both at our goal weights together. That will be a day of celebration when I am finished with refeed. I'm going to take the advice from whoever suggested it on this forum and go without cheese and beef for a week or 2 to see if that will speed up my weight loss so I can get there faster.

I've let Marie do all the talking, but now I'm ready to admit a big secret. The diet is listed for a certain age group - not over 62. I'm almost 74! And I'm still skiing, hiking, and trying to keep up with my 79 year old husband. Thank you all for your support. I won't be starting re-feeding for another month because there is another short RV trip next month. So, if I go below goal weight - that's a plus! I do have to be finished with the program before Aug. 26 - we are going on a cruise.

Thank you all for the compliments. It's truly been amazing. Mom was telling me that she is having a hard time eating the extra food she is allowed to eat in her refeed program. She is doing really good on it. I can hardly wait to get there myself. I'm looking forward to eating salmon and broccoli again.

I have shared my pictures with many friends and family members and that has inspired some people we know to get on a program to lose weight. Of course I tell them about this program but for them it is too restrictive. My best friend, who needs to lose 100 pounds before she gets her knees operated on, has decided to join Weight Watchers and has convinced her mother and sister to do it with her. I told her that once she loses her 100 pounds that I will take her to Cozumel for vacation with me as a reward. I can hardly wait to see her with 100 pounds gone! She's beautiful no matter what but she will be absolutely stunning without the 100 pounds. My brother has cut back on his food and lost 9 lbs. recently. I have folks at work that have reveiwed this program and considering getting on it.

I think people are just shocked that I finally dug in and DID IT! If I can do it, they can do it too.

Here I am waterskiing over the Labor Day weekend. The water was so cold that I had to wear a wetsuit. I have one of me in my swim suit, but I think I'll post a better one later. ;)

Thanks all. I had taken some pictures of me in a cute outfit that I went out dancing in last night, using my G-1 phone and emailed them to myself. Not one of them ended up in email and I deleted them all from my phone! DOH! Next time, I will make sure they get emailed to me properly before deleting them. One man told me that I was the best styled dressed person in the room. That's some complement! NO worries.... I will get a bunch of pictures yet to share.

Toned arms? Thanks for the compliment. Well, I'm just lucky that the muscles I created over the years is still there. If I move my arm a certain way, they have an old lady saggy look to me... but my friend, Diane, the red head in the pictures I posted, she says my "sag" is not as bad as she would have expected and that I am fortunate. So I keep on massaging the skin every day with good lotions and I need to start working out with weights again and doing those ab workouts to get my six-pack back.

Yes... I love the look of my collar bone in my low cut tops. I always lose first in my top. But... as I said before, you can see the cankle problem in the picture with the dress. I'm not going to let that bother me though. I love that dress!
