I'm here for the first time. My wife MrsPeel has been passing along some of your stories and urging me to sign on. So, here I am to tell my story.
It all started in a tiny village a long time ago...
Sorry wrong story.
I started the diet four weeks ago and things are going very well. I have lost seventeen pounds, a couple of pants sizes and my blood pressure has returned to normal. Not bad for a start. I look forward to the next four weeks. I must say, I have to give some of the credit to MrsPeel. The progress she has made and the encouragement she gives me is quite motivating. It nice to have someone to do the diet with.
Till later.

Hello everyone,
I am a newbie also; one week in. I, too, need to get over the addiction to the scale, but I did lose 8 pounds my first week. My goal is 150 pounds and my starting weight was 208. I'm hoping that's possible in the first 12 weeks, but am just happy to have found the program and will take it as it comes.
I'm enjoying putting healthy foods into my body and have not felt deprived. My only tough times comes when I'm cooking something for my family (three kids and a husband) that I cannot eat. But, I'm dealing with it. I have learned that I had many bad habits that I really wasn't even aware of. I suffer from the "BLTs" Bites, licks, and tastes...constantly. I'm certainly more aware of that now.
Just wanted to introduce myself and let you know that your posts provide motivation and inspiration to those of us just starting out.
Thanks!
Welcome on board, swimmer!
I am also one of those who like "BLT"...
This past weekend was the first time since I started my diet to have guests over for dinner. I cooked for hours without tasting!!! I asked my husband to taste the food - not that I really trust him... I was so proud of myself and my reward was what the scale was showing the next morning (although it was only at the end of 3 weeks and I shouldn't have done it...) :innocent4:

{hi} there Everyone
{grouphug1}
Warm welcome to Swimmer {cheerleader} I am glad that you are enjoying all the posts...
You did say: ''My only tough times comes when I'm cooking something for my family''... may I say that your food is not negotiable, while the family meals are...
I recommend that you decide what you are going to have first, then make the family something similar ie: everyone in the house can have boiled egg with breakfast... Tuna salad is good for everyone and so is lean chicken or steak stir-fry for example. If you are having stir-fry, why not make a similar stir-fry for them, but you can add more and different types of veggies into their meals and you can add some starch like brown rice.
When you make diet pitza, you can make your family pitza as well: see the tip from post number 5 in SAY CHEESE below (for the recipe see the RECIPE SECTION):
+ + + + + + +
Family TIP: You could make the same Pitza for anyone in your family even if they are not on diet. If you like you can change the base for Pita bread and cover this first with tomato and onion mix.
+ + + + + + +
By helping your family to learn healthier eating patterns now, it will be easier for you to go back to a Healthy LIFESTYLE when you have completed your Refeeding Program.

Welcome baredw. And MrPeel, nice of you to finally join us. :) We love reading all of MrsPeel's posts here on the board. Good luck with everything!!!!
Hello to the new folks - esp those suffering from BLT. I love it! I guess I had a bot of that myself pre 1PD. Here are a few things that I have done that have helped me tremendously for fixing one meal for me and 1 for my family.
1. If you must fix seperate meals (which I do) you can put a bowl of water next to what you are cooking. Once you have food on the spoon just stick in the water - that way you don'y have a yummy spoon sitting there ready to be licked clean.
2. Not sure were you all live, but in my town we have some places where you go prepare meals and take them home. The one here is called Dinners Ready [link removed by admin]. You go on line and pick out however many dinners you want and go prepare them (or they can for a fee) and then stick in plastic bags and freeze. I did this ands just pulled out already measure and cut ingredients for my family. It is a bit of prep at the time you are making it, but since it's all cut you just stick in a pot and cook. Less handeling is good for me. It eneded up being like $3 a serving so better than grocery store proces these days.
3. When I ran out of those meals I would make a big pot of soup or casserole and cook it and freeze half. That way they could eat some now and then again in a few weeks.
I also have to have my hsband taste for me. It's hard to make food and not kjonw if it seasoned right etc. I never realized how much I use taste to help me cook, but his taste buds as a subsitiute have allowed me to lose lots of weight quickly and I like my new body better than the tastes :) Good luck to all. I know you will find this diet a life changer!!!!!:)
