Hi everyone - I am doing this little journal because when I first was thinking about doing the diet I found it really helpful and it was probably the deciding factor on making the decision to go ahead.
4th March 2009 Pre official start date.
I don't actually start the diet til the 6th March but need to do a bit of catch up as I have put on more weight between now and initially signing up. EEEK!:innocent4:
Well I am finding it ok so far. None of the food is particulariy disgusting which as a huge bonus! Had a lovely breakfast of red onion, spinach with scrambled egg. Cook the red onion and spinach with lashings of salt and pepper until soft. Crack and egg in with it and scramble. Then eat, Yum!
I seem to have the same afflication as many of you here, the dreaded "weighing yourself" disease and I have only been doing it for two days. Doesn't look good does it!! Oh well I'll have to deal with it. I'm just too inquisitive!
I feel less bloated then usual and have no acid indigestion at all. Miracle! I usually come down with a few bouts if it a day, particularily in the evenings. The bloating was really bad , by the evening I used to look 7 months pregnant and that seems to have disappeared also.
Right I am going now I have the children to pick up from school. Bye x

Hello Jane.....
Good job on starting a journal....I wish I would have done that when I first started....but oh well.
You're gonna find that by following your 1PD plan 100% you're going to lose your weight AND all the issues that go along with that excess weight! Just remember to be strong and don't deviate from your eating plan!

5th March - One day til official start date.
Weighed myself this morning (as you do) and was a little bit shocked to say the least. I seem to have lost about 4/5 llbs, must check my scales... because I've only been doing this for three days.
Made a BIG mistake yesterday...........decide to precook my food before it was time to eat it and I still had three hurs to go until I could eat it. Problem is that I work from home and I have a little office under the stairs in my kitchen diner so I was absolutely starving because it smelled so yummy. So I think that I will have to not do that again because it made me hungry all day. Perhaps the diet is just starting to take affect and my body is realising that I'm not eating as much as usual.
Feeling really positive today, the forum gives you quite a boost and motivates you to just get on with it. Thanks Phyllis for your nice positive message.
Have been invited to a party in two weeks and they usually involve drinking copious amounts of alcohol. Does anyone know whether it affects the diets really badly if you have a night off? What are your thoughts?
Water - I have been struggling to drink the water as usually I hardly drink anything at all but have woken up this morning really thirsty. I'm finding the more that you drink the more your body wants it. W:thinking:ierd!
I'll let you all know if my scales were broken and telling me lies this morning, but if they are fine then WOO HOO!!!!:):party1:

Janey - I don't think your scale is lying. Your body has been flushed with all the fluids you've been drinking. I think you can trust your scale. I lost 12 pounds the first week.

{hi} there Janeyjane
A very WARM WELCOME TO YOU!!! :bighug:
So glad that you’ve come to write your very own success story right here on the Forum! {cheerleader}
Well done so far, you’re off to a great start – but, I’d like to recommend that you do go one step further in following Dr Cohen’s program 100%... I know it’s not going to be what you want to hear, but Dr Cohen’s Program, Dr Cohen’s rules and, one of those rules is the rule of not weighing yourself more often than once in 4 weeks…
I don’t think anything is wrong with your scale… but, you will go through various stages and we don’t want any plateaus to de-motivate you in the future…
All the best with your eating plan, you’re going to be so happy when those 77 pounds are gone! Stay Strong: You can do it! {wave}

OK well it officially starts today. I'm really feeling motivated and that this is actually going to work. Thanks for your message Shasha re: scales and weighing myself. I will go and hide them now and not get them out for 4 weeks.
My jeans feel a little bit looser than normal today. Recently I've gained so much weight that I am running out of clothes that fit me. And as stubborn as I am I am refusing to buy a UKsize 18, (not sure what size that is in US) so for the past few months I've been wearing the few same outfits over and over again, thinking that it would teach me a lesson for putting on soooo much weight and motivate me into loosing it. Unfortunately I think it has had the opposite affect and made me fell so bad that I have just given up and eaten more.
For breakfast today I have eaten:
Meal One
50g light philadelphia and 60g celery and a ryvita cracker. Was in a rush this morning and had to eat it in the car as I knew that if I didn't eat at 8:30 then I wouldn't have had another opportunity until about 10:30 which would have meant that lunch would be 3:30 and tea would be 8:30.
For lunch I will be having:
Meal Two
120g chicken breast and 110 veg.
I'm going to chop up the chicken and cook with garlic and ginger and then add spinach, green pepper, celery and red onion and loads of coriander coz that's free and salt and pepper. I'm using the spray oil and water to cook.
For tea I had a bit of a panic as my mum has just rung and invited, me the other half and the children round for a meal. So I had to tell her about the diet. So far I haven't told anyone about it. I'm not sure why. A bit embarrased I suppose, just in case it doesn't work and that I've been ripped off. She was ok with me taking my own food (of course) and really please for me and supportive. So I must make a note to tell others as and when the need arises.
For tea I will be having:
Meal Three
110g chicken 100g veg
Crackers and fruit in between to curb the hunger and 2 liters of water and 3 cans of diet coke.
Suzanne - wow 12 lbs weight loss in the first week!! :)Well Done. :party1: That's nearly a stone!! I'm up for that!!:weights:

{hi} there Janeyjane
I’m so glad to hear that your jeans are sitting loser!! Now, that is a sure indication that fat is being lost!! :jumping2: Well done!! :applause:
I hear what you’re saying about not having any clothes left to wear, due to gaining weight, but sooner than you think, those “old clothes” will fit again… I recommend that you have a weekly little fashion parade at home – if you don’t, you will probably find that your too small clothes became too big without your even knowing.
Dr Cohen’s program works – just look at all the amazing success stories from your fellow Diet Buddies… and know that by following your eating plan 100%, you will be helping your body to transform you!!!
Remember to take some photo’s to monitor your progress as you go along {cheerleader}
Jane, keep the faith and stay positive. You can and will do good. There is no other way when you follow this lifestyle change.
I too found that my clothes are getting bigger. When I started this diet, I could barely shut my belt, and now after 8 weeks, I am using the first hole (5 hole belt), and might need to make new holes to shorten it up!!!!!

Thanks Shasha and Mr Ed. Not sure if I can find any photos, I usually hide if I see anyone about to take a photo. Perhaps I will have to take one especially, if I dare.
Mr Ed - you've been doing really well. Looking at your ticker, you've lost 51lbs in only 8 weeks, well done. I'll soon be catching you up :weights: :weights2: :weights: :praying:

I recommend that you take some photo’s – you don’t need to show your before photo’s to anyone until you’re not ready and happy to do so…
But, OH BOY! when you get to your goal weight, you’re going to NEED those before photo’s! - that way you can pin one to your chest when meeting people who haven’t seen you for a while – save them the embarrassment of not recognizing the gorgeous slim new you!!! {wave} {wave} {wave}

Totally agree with Shasha here! Even if you don't post the photo - TAKE IT. I just hit the end of week 4 today and wish I hadn't been embarassed to just stand for a full shot and keep it to me. Today, I'd post it because I've changed so much in just 4 weeks!!!

I totally agree, too! I wish I would have taken a few full on shots before I started this diet....you don't have to share them with us, but you'll want them when you reach goal!!

:)Hi everyone
Well I learned something yesterday about onions that perhaps I should have read properly the first time. I can only eat 20g a day of onions and I have been having about half a big red onion a day, so may have screwed things up a bit.
Day 2
Meal 1
1 egg 70g veg
Made a lovely red onion and spinach scrambled egg thing and have a ryvita cracker with it.
Meal 2
65g Cheese 105g veg
Had a nice salad, lettuce, celery, coriander, spinach with cottage chesse on the top. Made a vinegar dressing with salt and pepper to spice it up a bit.
Meal 3
Went out to the pub with friends for a birthday celebration. Was panicking a bit when they said that we were all going to eat out there. Luckily they had a nice cajun chicken salad on the menu consisting of all the things I was allowed to eat. Probably not quite the quantity but a least I didn't add anything to my body that I shouldn't have. Drank diet coke and said I would drive so I didn't have any excuses with the alcohol.
Didn't really have all my fruit allowance yesterday, for some strange reason didn't want them. Didn't have all my crackers either just incase I did have more for meal 3.
Not struggling with the water intake any more and not dashing to the loo as much, thank goodness.
I have taken everyones advice today and got my other half to take photos of me. Probably won't post them just yet though but I wasn't that bothered having them taken as I know that they are going to be a valuable tool for my success along the way. Everytime I feel like I'm not getting anywhere I can have a look at them an see how far I have come.:party1::weights::weights2:

Ate out last night at a friends house. Cooked my own tea to take with me, had a lovely cajun chicken salad and an apple for pudding. I think I made them a bit uncomfortable with me only eating a small amount as they had a huge plate of meat and veg etc but I did it YEAH!!:party1:. It turned out that I didn't have to eat earlier as cooking the roast took longer than expected anyway!
I think that the main issue is when they see the amount of food you are eating they don't think it is a lot but when I say that I'm full after I eat it they find it hard to believe. I think because everyone is soooo used to over eating when they see a normal amount of food it seems tiny. I also got the message across about the no booze, eventually. Because usually I'm the "party animal" and never need any persuasion when it comes to alcohol it seems strange to them. Still I think they realise how serious I am about doing the diet. It is not worth doing it half heartedly, you've got to go full steam ahead.
Next time it will be easy and I won't have to explain the diet again. I think I've also found two people seriously thinking about sigining up and joining the clan.:)
Still doing fine with it - I know I shouldn't have but me and some of the other mothers in the village get together on a Monday morning at the childrens centre and have a weigh in, our own little weight watchers, (kind of). We all pay £1.00 and whoever has lost the most weight in the month gets half the money collected and the other half goes to the pre-school. Anyway went this morning and got weighed (sorry shasha) and have lost 6lbs so far! So I've decided that I can't be included in the competition anymore as I have an unfair advantage!:party:weights:1:

 Day 5 and 6
Yesterday I felt terrible. Really tired and absolutely exhausted. Is this normal and if so how do you overcome it? Today pretty much the same, finding it hard to motivate myself as too tired.
Possibly have been eating a curry spice that I shouldn't be, but will have to wait until my 1pd consultant gets out of bed (time difference) and reads my message to find out.
Have been doing ok, haven't deviated from the diet at all!!
Even had water and diet coke at the pub last night! Was tempted with a nice pint of Cornish cider though but was strong, figured I would have probably fallen over due to lack of food.:innocent4:

Hi Jane!
You are doing a fabulous job! Way to keep on track!!
I know what you mean about being tired. When I first started I was exhausted!!! I wasn't sure what to do about it but figured it would pass. After reading the boards I found that taking a second vitamin at lunch and sometimes an extra fruit helps. Of course, your consultant is always the last word on those questions. I know you will be feeling better soon and the results are absolutely worth it!!
Keep up the great work!!
Janeyjane
03-12-2009, 04:48 AM
Morning all! :party1:
Thanks vbrodie for your words of wisdom. My 1pd consultant got back to me and this is they they said:
in the beginning of the program your body is going through a lot of changes and detoxing. Please drink your required 2 liters of water daily, as well as your multivitamin and you may take an extra vitamin later if needed. You can take extra calcium and magnesium if you wish to. Keep your fruit and crackers to have in between the meals. (The apple is known to stabilise the blood sugar level) so it would be a good choice to have the apple more than once a day in the beginning as your fruit choice. After the detoxing has passed, these symptoms should go away. However, if not, you must please follow it up with your doctor.
So you were pretty much spot on with the advice.:) Thanks!
AZ and Phyllis - I don't mind your cruel tricks!! lol I know its for the best. I tell you what though - I would have kept on using the spices thinking they were ok and probably would have been on Dr Cohen for the rest of my living days!!:(
Well Done you guys for the weight loss, you are all doing really well - keep it up!
AZ have you made re-feed yet?
So after a few initial hiccups I hopefully am now 100% Cohen through and through. I will have to memorise the handbook and not have to keep referring back to it.
Woken up this morning and don't feel so exhausted but I've got the rest of the day yet! Maybe I should start drinking tea as the caffine might help keep me perked up.:hypnotic:

{hi} there Janeyjane
Sorry to hear that you feel tired – sounds like a bit of low blood pressure, in this case please take the second vitamin at lunchtime - this should help…
Until you hear back from your consultant, rather don’t eat the curry – foods and quantities that are not allowed or exact will slow your progress down because they will prevent the correct amount of Human Growth Hormone from being produced by your body.
Bottom line of what I’m trying to say is: WHEN IN DOUBT, RATHER LEAVE IT OUT!!
Hope you feel much more energetic soon! :jumping2:

Hi everyone:party1:
Have missed a few days but nothing exciting to report. I have been making another huge mistake - when are they going to stop!!
I've been eating philadelphia extra light thinking it was the one specified in the hand book but have since found out there is a fat free version, but can't seem to find it anywhere, perhaps they don't sell it in the UK? Anyone who knows who stocks it please let me know.
Not feeling so drained anymore, it seems to have passed, either that or the extra vitamin tablet is working, decided not to start drinking tea as it gives me the shakes and I can't sleep because of the caffeine.
I have really got used to the portion sizes now, it seems like sufficient food now whereas before it didn't seem like it was even going to touch the sides.
I've had a nice relaxing weekend, the sun has been shining and the other half was away at a motor show all weekend so have really put my feet up. Kids have loved just playing in the garden. Let the summer begin!!

I had my mothers meeting in the village on Monday and we did our weekly weigh-in. (Whispers - 10.5lbs down!!) Yay!! Not official of course until my 4 week weigh-in, but I'm really pleased. I am even wearing jeans that used to be really tight and they are quite loose on me now.
I had a day yesterday where I nearly crumbled. So far I have had absolutely no cravings whatsoever, but yesterday I was like a woman possessed! I even gave in and took a bite out of a chocolate bar :innocent4:..............but then I thought about what I had done and spat it out! That's a first!! :)

Hi Janey,
My whole social life has been based around friends and drinking/eating. I have found that a wine glass filled with San Pellegrino water is enough to keep me from feeling deprived. Maybe you would do better with a different beverage - but I think using a glass just like my friends are using is the trick. Make it clear to yourself and to others that you aren't going to cheat. Recently I asked a 1PD consultant if capers were legal... I was told to stick to the program because in the big picture, it's only a short time of being deprived. That's my new mantra - it's only a short time of being deprived. Good luck.

Well three weeks in.....still going ok. I went to a party last weekend and allowed myself the night off. Hangover not too bad the next day but straight back on the wagon!! 7 days to 4 week weigh in, can't wait!! I'll finally be able to get my ticker moving in the right direction.
Been reading everyones posts over the past few days. BaD cAps really has hit the nail on the head with the food and what it has meant to her. Same for me, food has always been such a big deal and a very social tool. Whereas now I just eat because its time to or because I'm hungry and for no other reasons. I am actually feeling really proud of myself for no longer using food as such an emotional crutch, no longer feeling the need to have nice goodies to lift the boredom or sadness or happiness or whatever emotion I would happen to be eating for!
Just to begin with I have been avoiding quite a few social gatherings knowing that it would be easier just not to go. I'm finding it really uncomfortable having to talk about the diet to people who ask. Not sure why? Embarrassment I suppose. Silly really. Eventually everyone will know then there will be no-one else to explain too, phew! Very few people I know have ever heard of the diet and the fact that it is an on-line on makes them very sceptical. However they are noticing the results and are getting increasingly interested in who this "Dr Cohen" is.
I can't get fat free philadelphia here in the UK, Boo, hoo, shame because its really nice with celery. Trying to make the kids eat the low fat version because I'd bought three tubs before I found out it wasn't the right one! Also recently found out I've been eating the wrong squash!! I've been eating butternut squash all this time. OOPs. I think I'm going to have to make the manual a weekly read.
Waiting to find out if I can eat Thai lemongrass. Thai food is my favorite in the whole world and lemongrass looks like it should be a freebie but who knows. Will let you know when I find out.
Breakfast
Scrambled egg and two celery sticks
Snack diet coke & cracker, apple
Lunch
Cottage cheese and salad. Salad = green pepper, celery, red onion, lettuce, spinach, salt and pepper, vinegar (run out of balsamic). Ryvita cracker.
Snack diet coke and cracker, apple
Tea
Chicken w/ asparagus, green pepper, green cabbage, celery, courgette, spinach, fresh corriander, loads of fresh garlic, loads of fresh ginger and with any luck lemongrass! 2 crackers
Diet coke, any left over crackers if hundry and any left over fruit if hungry
Oh and not forgetting water! 2 L

Hi Janeyjane!
Try not to avoid your social engagements. What you need to do is plan your meals, you can either eat before hand and survive with a diet soda and a fruit during the social event or take your meal with you.
Just to begin with I have been avoiding quite a few social gatherings knowing that it would be easier just not to go. I'm finding it really uncomfortable having to talk about the diet to people who ask. Not sure why? Embarrassment I suppose. Silly really. And I understand you when you don't want to tell people about the diet. I was the same at the beginning. I think it was because when I told one of my friends she game me a huge lecture against diets on-line. But then I read in the forum the term "medicated diet" and that's what I tell people when I'm not eating with them or bring my own food. Some ask why, and I just say "my hormones were playing up, so I'm healing myself through food."
You're doing great.
PhyllisRis
03-28-2009, 11:34 AM
I agree....don't avoid the social events....you need to feed your social appetite, too while dieting! And....it's OK to let people know that you are taking control of your life and improving yourself. They'll see what great progress you're making and will become your biggest cheerleaders (they'll be BIGGEST cuz you'll soon be smaller than them!!! LOL) I find that if you plan ahead and take your food along with you to these events you'll have a ball!! ENJOY!!!

Thanks everyone!
Took your advice and decided I am not going to avoid anymore social engagements. Went out to the pub last night with a few friends took the children etc. Drank diet coke all night and had a great time. No-one even noticed I wasn't drinking alcohol and the best part was, they all have hangovers this fine sunny Monday morning!!:applause: Loads of new people have started over the past week or two. Welcome everyone!
Usually every year at this time it is panic stations for me as it is coming closer to Summer and I am thinking about getting out my summer clothes and dreading the thought of it! This year however I am quite looking forward to it. Already have been dragging out an old bag of clothes that I had put away in disgust at the thought of never fitting into them again! Not quite there yet but at least it's a goal to work towards. A few pairs of trousers fit that I had only put away a few months ago because I couldn't get the fastening anywhere close, there was about a three inch gap, I nearly threw them out but thought better of it.
It was only a matter of time before I got sick of being unhappily overweight and got it into my head to get focussed and just loose it. It is quite a psychological thing for me. If my head isn't in the right place then I don't stand a chance in hell, I just can't motivate myself.
:rolling2:
So I am going to take full advantage of this mind set because I'm on a roll!
:quiet: 18lbs down! - 4 week weigh-in in 4 days!

To update your ticker, you need to have saved the link for it somewhere. Otherwise, I don't know how you're going to find it.
You might need to start fresh and make a new one. Then, when you get to the last screen when it's created, highlight and copy the url (the http:// thingy) and save it to your desktop or to a document file somewhere. Then you can just copy and paste it in the future when you need to update your ticker.
Good for you, losing 20 pounds. Keep up the good work.

Hey Janeyjane - just remember when you add the code for your ticker to your signature, you need to save it. Also save the URL (address) for it somewhere else so you can find it later.
Thanks for the sizing info. When I was in the UK in 2006, I was a little baffled by the sizes. I was a 16 at the time and the sizes seemed way off.
What part of the UK are you from. I have friends in Manchester and Romney Marsh, Kent.

Managed to sort my ticker out! Yay!
Hi Suzane - I'm from Yorkshire originally but have lived in Cornwall for the past 3 1/2 years. It's great, lots of things to do, beautiful countryside and beaches. Just in case you are not too sure where Cornwall is in the UK, it is the part at the very bottom left of England, about as far south as you can go so the weather is milder here in the winter and hotter in spring, summer, autumn. Raining this evening though!
Manchester isn't too far from Yorkshire, it is in the neighbouring county but from here its about 6-7 hours drive away and Kent is about 5-6 hours away.
A long shot I know but where in the US are you from? I have friends that live in Bowling Green which is near Nashville. They met on the internet and fell madly in love and got married and now he lives over there. True Love!:love4:
Today I had
Breakfast
Tried the famous Zucchini hash brown - nice and very filling.
Snack
Cracker and apple and diet coke
Lunch
Home-made pizza - 2 x crackers
Spinach, 1/2 tomato, loads fresh garlic, italian herbs:- cooked until it slightly resembled a sauce. Added to the two crackers and then added mozarella cheese on top that I had melted in the microwave. Freshly ground black pepper. Had with a bit of lettuce because I hadn't used up all veg allowance.
Cracker apple diet coke.
Tea
Minced beef delight!
Minced beef, fresh garlic, italian herbs, green pepper, zucchini, green cabbage. Not really a delight but tasted ok.
Crackers, apple, diet coke

Hi Janeyjane!
I've seen programs on Cornwall. At the southern tip, aren't there cacti because of the warm weather/gulf stream?? Cornwall is lovely. Have you seen the film Ladies in Lavender? Dame Judy Dench & Maggie Smith. Really good movie and I believe it was filmed in Cornwall.
I've never been to Yorkshire or Manchester. But, I met a pal online in 2005 who is in Manchester. When I came over for a visit in 2006, she came up to Edinburgh and hung out for the weekend with me. We did a pub crawl and had a blast.
I've really only been to London, Romney Marsh, Dover, Folkstone and Rye. My friends in Kent also took me through the chunnel to Calais and Boulogne sur Mer. France was postcard perfect and the food.....*sigh* all cheese and cream sauces. Great trip, though. Can't wait to get back. The next trip will include a trip to Bath, Stonehenge, Cornwall, Manchester and Newcastle (for a tour of the brewery!!!) LOL
I live about an hour north of Washington, DC, in Maryland. My part of Maryland is scenic with rolling hillsides, farms, etc. Lovely. But England and Scotland stay with me. I shall return!!
Bowling Green, TN is about 10-12 hours from where I live. We are going to North Carolina next week, which is near the Tennessee border. Other than barely crossing the border once, I've never been to Tennessee.
Small world, isn't it?
Have a great day,
Suzanne

I haven't posted for a while. Not for any particular reason, I still check all the other posts daily where I can. I seem to be doing fine at the moment. I have now lost 28 lbs, which is two stone!! :party1:I can't believe it, people are really starting to notice a difference in my appearance. My other half is also seriously considering starting the diet. That will save me cooking different meals all the time.:praying:
I have just recevied back my 4 weeks blood results and sent them though to the consultants. I had a HI reading for something called Anion gap but not sure what that means. Lets just hope it means the diet is working. Not sure if anything will change as a result of them but we'll see.

Hi Jane,
How did you make out w/ the Anion gap? I'm not really sure what it
is, hope all is well.

Haven't heard back from the Team about 2nd blood results yet. They've said it will take a week, so I should hear back any day now.
I seem to have slowed down with the weight loss recently, I haven't been drinking all my water, have been really struggling. Mind is obviously elsewhere. Need to get more organised. Could be due to loosing my drinks bottle somehow I find it easier to drink plenty if its in the bottles but find it harder if its in a glass? Don't ask me why....will buy another one tomorrow, I think the kids must have hidden it somewhere.
Have been fine with the foods the past week. Really love the hash browns and have them every morning, well done phyllis!
KMac - how did your 4 week tests go. Have you heard back yet - I think we started at the same time.

Hi everyone
Had results back and this is what they said:
"Please be advised that Dr. Cohen was satisfied with your blood test results and instructed that you continue with your program."
So that's good news, nothing to worry about. The anion gap reading must be the fat buster! Nearly time for my 8 week weigh in, just a couple of days I think, will check. Clothes feeling looser today, I think the slow down was due to TOM aswell but feel like its all slowly disappearing again now.
My partner has decided to kind of try the diet. Not officially yet but just have breakfast and tea with me, so I don't have to cook three meals. Excellent! He actually likes the food aswell, which is a bonus. Since I started the diet he said he has put more weight on, he thinks I'm trying to feed him up!! I reckon I just haven't adjusted the amounts of food I have cooked, from two people to one.
Breakfast
1 egg 70g veg - made zuchini hash browns.
Snack - apple, cracker, diet coke
Lunch tuna salad - 115g fish 90g veg
Tea - mince beef 115g, 110g veg.
Fresh mint, fresh basil, fresh corriander, fresh ginger, fresh garlic, spinach, asparagus, green pepper, celery, cabbage. Salt and pepper, bit of diet coke instead of diet sprite and water to cook.

Had a great but very bad bank holiday weekend. Partied all weekend and cheated with drink and food!
I'm probably supposed to feel bad about it but I really feel like my motivation and will power have had a top up and have really let my hair down and enjoyed myself. I really needed that break from the diet, as I have realised that whether I cheated or not I will be doing another 12 weeks stint to enable me to reach goal.
However beware anyone considering having just the one night off.... I was intending to just have the one night off and just have alcohol and not food cheats but one party lead to another and another. OOps its very easy to keep going with it isn't it!! :innocent4:
Now my batteries are recharged, I'm back 100% but feel its going to take a while for me to get out all the bad things out of my body!!
8 week weigh-in results - 30lbs..yeah!:party1:

Hi Jane,
Great to have you back! And look at you! 30 pounds gone! Sorry to hear of your deviation though. Keep going straight until the end!

OOPS, I hear you loud and clear regarding one 'night off' turning into days off. Glad you've reigned yourself back in and grabbed the wagon. Remember, with each deviation, it's going to get harder and harder to get back on and stay on track. Learned from experience.
Your success in 8 weeks is FABULOUS!!!! Isn't it amazing what can be done in such a short period of time??!!??!! Congratulations to you!!!!

You all really know how to make someone feel special :). I'm really pleased too and feel great. Can't believe just how much weight 30lbs is. It has made such a difference in my life already.
30 lbs is 30 blocks of butter!
Just imagine having to carry round 30 blocks of butter all the time?? Mental!! Also one of my girls, Poppy, is about 30lbs it would be like having to carry her around all the time. No way. Still got a way to go though so keep chipping away at the lard!!
Had a great weekend - beautiful sunshine. Aaaaahhhh bliss!

WOW Janeyjane!! 30 pounds lost is remarkable. I feel ya on the deviations. I had one this weekend. I'm so glad, though, that I have this diet to return to. I crave the food on this diet and the way the food makes me feel. It's never dread on my part when it's time to return to the diet. The only part that is tough if cooking for myself all the time.
I have a renewed interest in my diet since I'm going to try to cook my food (mainly the veggies) for my son while he's home to help him trim down before his summer job in NM.
Just another reason for me to get up and cook my meals. :)
Keep up the good work ~ let's be tenacious.

Great job ladies, getting back on track. It can be hard. I find that the first couple days are brutal, and then I feel fantastic. Just stick with it and you will be on top of the world again in a couple days.

Finish the 12 weeks in 12 days. I have broken a weight barrier recently and got back into the 10 stone mark. It's been a while!! :party1:
Dr Cohen and the consultants want me to have a goal of 8 stone 2 which would mean loosing another 40 pounds ish but I really feel that it is too low for me. I have discussed this with them previously but they said to plod on and loose some weight before we discuss it. I know I will have to do a 2nd 12 week programme and I am actually looking forward to it as I am kind of getting to like the food and the thought of eating other food like bread again worries me a little as I used to have some digestive issues before I started the diet that completely disappeared when I started.
So I will ask them again when I start my 2nd 12 week program to see if we can come to some mutual agreement on the goal, as 8 stone 2 (116 pounds) is way way too low for me. I am thinking more of 9 1/2 stone(133 pounds) then I will be in the middle of the weight range for my height of 5ft 4.
Will let you all know what they say.

I managed to find some spice called five spices today that does not contain any of the bad stuff. But I will post the ingredients here for you to see just incase there is something that I am not aware of.
Fennel, cassia, star anise, ginger, cloves. Infact as I type my stomach feels a bit wierd, uncomfortable......so maybe there is something that is not allowed. I'll check with the consultants aswell.

Good to see lots of new fellow dieters have started recently, hello all!!
I have been busy lately and not checked to forum for a while. I've had lots of friends visiting us whilst they were on holiday. Lots of sunshine!!:)
I signed up for my second 12 week programme yesterday and have really really really got to stop cheating. I was reading something Phyliss was saying to one of the newbies and it is soooo true. It is definitely better not to cheat at all, stay 100%, listen to Phylliss, she is "the Oracle". I have strayed for the past 4 weeks and have not lost a single pound!! What a waste, just think I could have lost and extra 10lbs by now.
My consultants have reccommended a blood test as I am beginning a new 12 week programe and I will book that in for next week as they only take blood in my village on a Wednesday.
So.....in my mind I am starting afresh, just like I did 12 weeks ago. I know to expect the first week to be hell and to feel exhausted and tired as my body detoxes but at least this time I know it will pass and the weight will just drop off!!
Was reading a few posts and some of you have also been struggling lately aswell. I have decided I am going to try and increase my water intake to 3 litres to account for the hot hot weather!
Good to see you are all doing so well!!

Thanks Phyllis, you're a star! Loved your new photo, you are looking fabulous and the fruit looked very appetising. You haven't got very far to go now, you are doing so well. All the newbies will never believe it when they take a look at your photos in the before and after section. Well done, you are an inspiration to us all. Jane x
