It is totally possible. Put away the scale if you are going to be concerned by the numbers
It is possible you hit a plateau. Some people lost 15-20 their first month others only lose 10, but lose 10 every month.
Sure, we all want to be the person who loses 20lbs the first month on this diet, but few of us are
Just think, it took us a lot longer to put on 10 lbs than 1 month (in most cases), its amazing it only took 4 weeks weeks to take it off.
Go by your measurements and how your clothes feel.
I can tell you I've been 100% but have gained a few lbs, I think from working out. But I get it, and I will cut back if needed.
Weighing everyday or every week is dangerous, if you let the numbers effect you.
This is why weighing more than one every 4 weeks is a 'deviation'.
10lbs in 3 weeks is a huge sucess. Kepp on going and you will reach goal and that after all is the most important thing!

thank you CohenInAz!
You are absolutely right! you're progress has been amazing, too! I'm a tad bit inpatient b/c a few days lately have been going by so slow. I'm good with weighing raw, mango is great, and I've resigned the scale to the basement.
thanks again for all of your support!
Have a great week, too!

4Mama,
Yes I have had those same feelings. I get really bloated throughout the month since I have started the Cohen diet but I just keep drinking my water and eventually it goes away. But yes, it does give you that "am I even losing?" feeling. Admittedly, I have always resisted getting on the scale in between my 4 weeks. I know how I am and I know that I would get discouraged and cheat if the scale didn't say what I wanted it to. (Or I might go the opposite and cheat to "celebrate" that the scale said a good number). It's hard, but I had to put it in the closet so it was out of sight. Dr. Cohen's diet does address the plateau times and how even though we may not feel we are losing we still are. Are you noticing you are not going to the bathroom as much? Are you drinking your daily water allowance? If you are - don't worry - just stick with it and you'll wake up one morning and your clothes will be to big! (it's happened to me:))

4MAMA - I know what you're talking about. I am easily frustrated when the scale doesn't drop a pound daily.
This past week my weight loss slowed and plateaued for a few days. I had to check what I was eating. First, I switched water bottles and learned that it actually took THREE of the new ones to equal the old 2L bottle that sprung a leak.
Second, I had had some form of cheese, 1x a day for 4-5 days.
Lastly, I looked at how much diet soda and sodium I was adding. In one day, when I addressed all 3 things, BOOM, I got below 210 the next morning and saw 209. YAY!
That's why it pays to write everything down. I am going to limit myself to cheese only 3 times a week and see how that goes (I have Hashimoto's thyroid).
Also, I've experienced my weight being lower, but not having my clothes fit better. I've also experienced weighing the SAME and HAVING my clothes fit better. It's a mystery. All I know is...THE DIET WORKS.
At 19 pounds lost, I'm still on schedule to be below 190 by easter. I'm 209/210 now, so that's 21 pounds in 7 weeks to be 189 (never been there in 20 years!). Um...I think it's doable.
Don't give up!!

Just a quick note. I would not loose anything for three weeks and then I would drop 7-10 pounds in a week to week and a half. The scales never really bother me though even if I am up a little. I know usually it is just some water retention.
Hope that helps.

I am in week 4 and have slowed down my weight loss and feel "heavy". I haven't gained weight but look like I have (in my opinion). I am blaming it all on a certain monthly female issue. ;-)

I noticed when I got hungry it was because of my cycle and I was getting ready to loose a lot of pounds. Try to stay away from apples because they always made me more hungry. I would eat the other fruits.

wow, do u really thik it's the cheese?? if we're allowed in Meal 1 & 2 why should our weight loss effort slow down? it's what the Dr has prescribed? i eat chobani nonfat yogurt and an apple everyday for breakfast since the inception. then, for lunch lately I'm really enjoying 7 rice crackers topped with l/f mozz cheese and 1/2 tomato sliced. if I'm following my allowance, why should i gain or slow down?
oh well, my i am a little hormonal this week, but i felt very discouraged last night. my 4 kids are off from school this week throwing my schedule off kilter, and now i feel like a short order cook all day!
my husband has the flu, put his back out from coughing, and I'm left to scoop out the ice cream and cake from my girls sleep over with friends!!!! AHH! just one piece of chocolate, PLEASE??!!
thank you for letting me vent. another pitty party for myself!

I am pretty sure you are only suppose to be having Cheese once a day. It sounds like you are having it twice a day.
They (Consultants) suggest cutting cheese as it has a high sodium contnet, which can lead to water retention, this is why they suggest cutting it out or mine suggested 3 times a week.

About cheese, I had cheese once a daily (which is by plan) pretty much the whole entire program and never had an issue with water retention. Plus I lost 55 pounds in 20 weeks. If you feel as though it is working for you then have that yummy treat and enjoy!!
I am confused. How is she having cheese twice a day?
