This topic has come up a lot lately about what we can do when eating out.

I thought I would just make it a topic where we can all add our advice since we've all been there and done it.

Here is the collection I have found so far:

Don't eat out (you'll be amazed at the money savings!). Do other non-food based things

But.. if you do... here are tips!

Take your own food (complete meal). If anyone asks, you are on a special medical diet. Always order a drink if you do this.
Cheese (Mozerella), Tuna and a Harboiled Egg travel well if you bring it.
Take mesaured protein and ask for a salad (weigh it or eyeball it)
Order Cohen Friendly and Eyeball it (risky, but possible)
Eat before and drink Soda (save it for the event) or Tea (Unlimited)
Order Fruit and Crackers (order fresh fruit be sure its not in a syrup or canned)
Bring your own fruit and crackers
Tell the waiter how to prepare your food, let them know you are on a special diet
Bring a scale and weigh at the table
At breakfast order a hardboiled egg and a side salad.
Best tip Get used to your measurements. For example, I know it takes about 17 spoonfuls of yougurt for me to have 170g/6oz. I still measure, but I am always within 1g. I can do the same with cauliflower and many of my other "regular" foods.

At the movies, take 2 servings of apples and plan on 2 Soda servings... you will be OK at the Movie theatre!!

I know we've all done this so what do you do?

Thank you for the useful tips. My job requires me to entertain a fair bit. I have managed in the last 4 weeks to only do it twice. Both times, I picked a Japanese restaurant, called in earlier and asked the Chef to weigh my fish and grill it. He was so obliging. I ordered a salad to go with it.
Japanese food tends to be healthy, I guess if anyone is into Shashimi (raw fish) that will work too.

{hi} there AZ

Thank you for the lovely thread :clapping3:

 Tips that comes to mind right are: DON’T BE SHY TO ASK FOR HELP. If you are overweight people can see it and they will actually admire you for standing strong and for doing something about it.

Always remember – the program is expensive – your time and health are priceless – you are doing this for a limited time in order to be healthier, feel better, gain self confidence, fit into your favorite clothes, be free from back ache and other weight related ailments, you are in all likelihood probably preventing diabetes / heart disease / high blood pressure etc.

The more you focus on the WHY you are doing this, the easier the HOW will be. If you are motivated, you will find excuses to STAY on DIET – where there is a will, there is a way.

If you do deviate – please do not allow yourself to go into that “mode” or place where you say: Oh well, that’s it, I’ve blown it – that’s the end of my diet. {noway} just get right back on and make sure that for the rest of the next 2 weeks, you do not deviate in any way.

Great tips! We dine with friends A LOT! So far I've been able to decline invites due to scheduling issues but I know it's coming this weekend and I don't want to lose touch with friends during this amazing journey. Here's what I'm going to do.....

In one week I've lost 7 pounds eating as directed. I'm packing my own food to the house/restaurant and just telling the people that this is what I'm doing and this is the success I've had. My friends want me to SUCCEED!!!!!! I know they'll understand AND be supportive!

Take a salad with your allotments and you can also take fruit and/or crackers along to the restaurant and order a diet Coke/Pepsi (it's only common courtesy to the waitress/waiter and the restaurant to at least order a drink). I usually take a sliced apple that I've sprinkled with cinnamon...it's easier to eat than crunching noisily into a whole apple. AND....the ice water at restaurants usually "turns me on" (so to speak)....it's like salad, it always tastes better away from home (does that make any sense??).
