Hello,
Curious.. if this is a"personal diet" why does everyone eat the same food?

we eat the same food, but in different amounts.....like I can only have chicken once/day and others can have it twice/day. Some seem to be able to have cheese in 2 meals and I can only have it once at the same meal that I could also have an egg. Whatever it is.....it works and I'm not going to question it! My hubby sometimes tries to justify me having something else or a different quantity....but I just tell him, NO...this is working and I'm not going to mess with it!!

there's a whole thread devoted to re-feed....I think you can find it on the main page of the Forum....scroll down....
You can always use the search button at the top of this screen....enter whatever it is you're looking for and you should get all the threads and entries that pertain to that.
Have fun and explore this Forum website....

Thanks for the info on the re-feed. I am a long way from that however. Does everyone on this diet eat the same kind of food? Does anyone get soy or milk in the beginning? I am a coffee drinker and not having any white in my coffee is probably my hardest area right now. Its only been 16 days for me so far. Thanks for the info!

I am not sure if you will get this or not, I have not been here for awhile and was doing fine until Xmas and sorta blew it :( I understand what you are saying however, it's the portion sizes etc that are different. I have a hard time and have lost weight not sure how much though I really need more support then I realized I guess.. thanks for the input!

Hi Sasha and Scorpiorider! It is a must read post!
Scorpiorider, getting off and then getting back on plan is harder then starting the diet if you know what I mean. I have been off plan because I felt so good being down 50lbs. My attitude was I feel great why do I need to go farther? I personally feel I need to finish or I will gain ALL my weight lost back!
My body is going thru major sugar withdrawls right now! I too miss my creamer and try to drink my coffee with a little splenda. Not the same I know but for me it is holding something hot in this cold weather this winter. I keep telling myself it is mind over manner! How bad do I want this? I have come this far -- do I want to be a quitter, a failure? NO!! I want to get to a place Dr. Cohen says is BEST for me not where I'm comfortable!! I'm not the DR!!. You can do this!
If I'm correct nobody on 1PD is allowed milk of any kind. Soy or non dairy creamer. In the whole grand scheme of life this diet is for such a short time in our lives we can live with out it. If I can get used to coffee without creamer I don't know that I will ever go back because it is something my body just doesn't need. It may want it but it doesn't need it.
Good luck! Make the commitment to just do it! I know you can!!

Hi,
I was in a rush at Wally world(Wal Mart, sorry!) the other day and grabbed tons of cans of low sodium tuna in water. Was rinsing and draining it this morning and noticed on the can it said, "vegetable broth" as one of the ingredients! AHHHH!
Is that ok to have?? I rinse and drain and strain it before eating and it says 0 carbs on the can. What do you think? I would ask a consultant but I brought it to work for lunch and know I won't get an answer til tomorrow.
And side note, can we take ibuprofen or bayer or anything for headaches?
Thanks,
Bonnie

Hi Bonnie
I would go ahead and eat the tuna today as long as you rinse it thoroughly...better than skipping a meal....but next time you should buy the plain water kind of tuna.
And I'm pretty sure that taking ibuprofen or aspirin is ok for headaches...but don't over do it....

I'd email the consultant... about the asprin. I am sure we can as people take other medicines, but I am not sure if there is one they recommend over the other.
As far as the Tuna, veggie oil is a big no no... I am not sure how much "soaks in"
I would look at the fat content.. as that would be the issue with the oil.

oh....I read veggie broth differently than veggie oil...You're right AZ..if it's in oil I wouldn't go there!!! broth to me meant water with cooked veggies in it. My bad!

You were right about it being broth! I thought I was being smart by getting, "low sodium". It is only broth, not any oil at all... Who knew they put that in canned tuna? never seen that in my life!
Thank you so much for the responses. I'll send an email to the consultant and let you know about the aspirin....
happy friday to ya'll!

So.. on the can did it say " Tuna in water" or in "Tuna in Veg Broth"?
Like on the front, not in the description of the ingredients...
If it says water it is ok, if it says anything else... not ok.
I shop at Wally too.. and have never seen that on the can before... must be new...

It says "tuna in water" for sure! It is the chicken of the sea...I have never gotten it before, but heard it was good and not as "fishy" as some of the others. And it was cheap! Gotta love Wally:party1:

It says "tuna in water" for sure!
You are totally ok and that is what we are allowed on the program.

So, they said NO low sodium tuna with any vegetable broth!!! Gosh, I really suck at this!! And you can take anything you normally take for a headache.
Anyone know if it means ANY meat, when it says that on our plan??
Hope everyone had a great weekend:)

look back at the consumer guide again, it should give a list of what is meat, fish and chicken.

Sorry it hs taken me so long to get back here. I really enjoyed your getting back on the bus post! It was encouraging to read and I have lost weight but still my body is very ruined and I hate looking at it but when I can afford it I will get it all fixed up nicely. It's so hard to believe the damage that food can cause a person. I won't quit just yet, but it just bugs me when I come home from work and see a cherry pie sitting on the top of the fridge that I did not buy. Frustrating and too tempting sometimes to take. Thanks again for all your support!

Hello,
Curious.. if this is a"personal diet" why does everyone eat the same food?
Thought this was interesting -- My MIL and friend just started 1PD and yes theirs is different. Our friend Pam cannot have any fish!! Weird! All of our amounts are very different! My MIL had 2 meals with chicken choices whereas I have one.
Anyway, just wanted to let you all know.

I have six coworkers that are all on the Cohen program and it's very frustrating as I am the only one who has 5 protein options (egg, cheese, chicken, beef, and tofu). They all have a 6th which is seafood. I'm allergic to most seafood and all fish but I can still eat some and the consultant that I'm in correspondence with seems to be saying that it's because I said this initially, I can't have seafood at all. And then the consultant changed their tactic and said I'm only allowed 3 proteins a day, chicken, beef, and tofu. The tone of the emails are also almost accusatory like I cheat all the time. I've been extremely strict and follow the diet as best as I can. I thought they would be more encouraging but it seems that's not the case. I just want to understand better because I'm really in this for the long run and my own personal physician is concerned about my good cholesterol. He said if I could eat shrimp it might improve it because that's the only real big difference in terms of sources of HDL from before. Sorry for the rant I'm just frustrated.
