First, I am totally excited that I was able to order my refeed program and it came back to me within 3-4 days!! I am so excited to get started. :jumping2:
Warning: It has been a week and a half and the scale has not moved! It is totally driving me nuts but I know in the end it will so be worth it. I just hope that my typical huge weight loss will come super soon. I usually loose 7-10 pounds in less than two weeks and the rest of the month I don't do anything so I am trying to wait patiently. This has been the hardest since I have it and it keeps calling out my name. :innocent4:
I am hoping that getting on here it will tell my body it needs to get going again!! :) I have also thought about stopping the fruits and crackers but I am hungry and there is no way I can make it without these.
Well, here are the 18 days that I will be on. Days number 3-9, 11, 13, 15, 16, 17, 20, 22, 23, 24, 27 and 30. I am so excited about all the yummy foods I will get to add in. The first day I am excited that I will get to have pineapple!!!!
I have some questions. Shasha please help!!
1. I see we can have canned/fresh,frozen veg's. Can we have the same with fruit?
2. Do we start mixing proteins on day 13 or 14? It is confusing what day it goes with in the guide. Also, making sure I can add new protein to my already cheese allowance. Just confirming.
3. Regarding new proteins, is occassional lunch meat allowed. I know it is higher in sodium but I LOVE and miss occassional sandwiches. What lunch meat is the best to have?
4.Regarding bread, can we have two pieces at one time?
Hopefully, I will be starting soon. Only 3 pounds till I get there!! Crossing my fingers and I will keep you all posted!!

Wow pam.....I'm really excited for you!! You've asked really good questions!! I hope I remember to check out your postings when my refeed time comes along.....OR maybe with all of our questions the 1PD people will revise their program guides to be more clear.
You're the best....and I'm sure your weight spur will kick in soon!

Go Pam!!! I am really excited for you. Getting ready to start refeed is a great accomplishment.
Hang in there. The last couple pounds will be gone before you know it.

18 days on the program isn't too bad, with a few days up your sleeve if you need to rechallenge at any stage if you start on or near the 1st at the latest. I see that Pumbza had 18 days too. I am just hoping I don't end up with the whole 28 days or refeed, that will blow my 25th out of the water, I ordered it 8 days ago so hopefully I will recieve it soon.

Thanks Everyone. I am really excited about starting soon. I think I am in my loosing phase again. I am now 123 so only three pounds to go. I never thought this was possible and it is truely amazing!! Not sure how long the three pounds will take but I am still hanging on strong!! :weights2:
Phyllis ~ I will try to post everyday and I make a list of questions daily to ask. Most of the guide is laid out clearly but there are some fuzzy edges!!
Cindy ~ I am so glad you are holding steady and you will hopefully be 100% Cohen again soon. Your health is the most important thing. I remember starting and about a month in reading Shawn's refeed log. It was so cool to see someone accomplish their goal and watch their process. I hope to do this for others!! Keep up the great work. I can't wait till you all hit your reachable goals!!
Sharon ~ Hi refeed buddy!! I am starting to catch back up to you!! I think most people have 18 days on refeed or close to it. I love the thought of refeed and really don't mind doing it. The amounts of food goes up pretty fast plus adding new foods slowly is really exciting. I will get to enjoy that pineapple and that popcorn and cookie without going crazy!! I am looking forward to that Rum and Diet Coke on the last day. I haven't had a drop in about 6 months so it should be an interesting evening. :jumping2: My hubby should be entertained! :comfort: Hopefully you will get your refeed soon. It is nice to sit down and plan out something a little different.
Have a great weekend with no cheats!!

{hi} there PAM
{congrats} on having done so very well!!!
I’m sure those last few pounds {pan} will be gone really soon and then you can have that pineapple~!! MMMMMmmmm!
Best would be to have fresh fruit on the Re-feeding program too.
You may mix proteins from Day 14 onwards – remember, you cannot increase: yogurt, egg or cheese – only increase meat, chicken or fish.
So, to mix those proteins you select the cheese ie: from meal 2 and onto that you ADD the new amount of proteins and veggies…
On the Re-feeding Program you are not allowed to have processed meats yet, so, sorry, but no lunch meat / no deli turkey etc. foods still to be weighed RAW.
After Re-feeding, you may have lunch meat, but I would recommend that you try to select the least processed lean lunch meats that you can find – those that look like meat, ie: roast beef etc, rather avoid the kind were only the Lord and the butcher knows what’s really in there… some lunch “meats” are simply scary! :scarymovie:
You can (if you can) have 2 slices of bread at one time. This will in any case be the rule after Re-feeding (starch once a day only) BUT, most Re-feed Buddies do find that they need to split the bread during 2 or 3 meals because the food becomes A LOT…
HANG IN THERE, STAY STRONG!! And, PLEASE stay focused during your entire Re-feeding Program.
Shasha

{hi} there Sharon
Given how very well you’ve followed your eating plan, no deviations and all, I don’t think you need to worry about doing 28 days on Re-feed… and I’m pretty sure you will be DONE by Christmas!!
Talk about giving yourself the :christmas: very best new body Christmas pressie ever!! :christmas:

{hi} there CINDY
You’ve already knocked off half of what you wanted to lose {wave}
{goodjob} all you need is a couple more weeks of 100% dieting and for sure, you will be at your goal weight too!!
YOU CAN DO IT TOO!!! {cheerleader}

Sasha,
I am technically off program for surgery recovery for 12 weeks, so I can rejoin mid-January. I have been following all Cohen food, without weighing and holding steady. It has been a full 4 weeks, and I just had another check up, so, I was told I could start getting back to plan a little at a time. I have worked up a plan of 1 1/2 times the diet plan to start getting me back into the weighing habit and get my eating level back down. Then in about 2 weeks, I will go back to the original diet plan until January. I will reapply, get new blood tests and get a new diet plan for me to follow for the remainder of my loss.
I am at half way, 40lbs, and would like to have another 10-15 off before I reapply in Jan. I think this is a reasonable goal for the way that I have been losing before surgery. That would put me within 35-40 lbs of goal. YAY!!!
Thanks for the advice.
Cindy

Holy {scream}!!!!!!!! I am so excited. I am now at 121 so if things continue I will be starting refeed on Monday. I think I will weight until then even if I loose a couple more between now and then. I can't believe that yesterday I lost .8 pounds and today it was 1.2. This is why weighing yourself weekly/daily is bad. I don't loose anything really for 3 weeks and then it falls off. The only reason I have been weighing myself daily now is because I was within the 5 pouds of starting refeed.
Shasha,
thanks for all your help and clearing those things up. Are oatmeal cookies ok for my cookie during refeed? I hope you don't mind me highlighting them. Thought it would be easier for you to find:)
Zee,
Pics will probably be posted on Monday or Tuesday. I am excited and can't wait to post them. I told myself I was not able to do that until I reached goal!! Just something to motivate myself.
Brownyn,
Thanks!! You are so great and such an inspiration!! I am so glad you are keeping it all off. What a great job you are doing to and how you keep us all going!!!!!!!
Sharon,
Where is my drinking/refeed buddy? I know you are probably busy with the holiday. Just wanted you to know that it was so nice that you let me vent earlier. You (and others) got me through the rough patch. :comfort:
Everyone thanks and keep up the great work. Try to not cheat today. Because of my weigh-in I am not tempted today in the slightest. I am looking forward to that pineapple one Monday!!

Today is December 1st.
1st day on refeed, day 3 in the program.
What I get to add today.
30g old protein
40 g old protein
1 good fruit
So this is what my day consists of and this is the total amount for the day. I go to work from 2:30 to nine so on Monday's and Wednesday's I have two snacks in a row.
meal 1: cheese, veg's and original fruit allowance
snack: good fruit (pineapple :embarrassment:) and rice cake
meal 2: meat, veg's and rice cake (this is where I am adding my protein)
snack: original fruit
snack: original fruit
meal 3: chicken, veg's and rice cake
I already ate breakfast with the fruit. I actually feel satisfied since I never have fruit for breakfast. I am just so happy to be here!! You guys will be here soon too! Hang in there and you can do it!!
Thanks everyone who has commented on my pics. I can't wait to see everyones results.
Pam
I almost forgot my questions.
1. are oatmeal cookies allowed at the end?
2. regarding alcohol, there is one place it says that alcohol is allowed from day 26 on and then in the block format there is no mention of alcohol until day 30. Just confirming that I can have a drink on day 27 and day 30 if I pay with a piece of bread. Thanks!
Sharon

Today is my official 20 week weigh-in even though I meet goal yesterday. I just thought I would wait till today to measure. The scale stayed the same today which was great. I started my cycle and I am crossing my fingers that I don't gain any during this time.
total lost:
waist: 11 inches
chest:13 inches
hips: 9 inches
arm: 2 inches
leg: 5.5 inches
total inches lost in 20 weeks: 40.5 inches wow!!
I posted my pics yesterday so check them out. Thank you for all the nice compliments!! Yesterday at work it seemed like everyother customer talked about it. I did not get to much accomplished!!
2nd day on refeed, day #4:
I add 30g protein, 40g veg's, 1 good fruit, 1 piece bread, and I am only allowed 2 crackers now. I will miss my rice cakes!!
I had french toast this morning!! Yummm!!!!! I took my bread and soaked it in egg. Cooked and cut it up and sprinkled stevia on it. It was so amazing. Only drawback. I am a little hungry now so I need to go get a piece of fruit!! When I do it again I will either have it for lunch or dinner and have the cheese option for breakfast so I don't get hungry again!!
I am still adding all my proteins and veg's to one meal since it is not that much. I will only do this for another day or two then I will have to split it up evenly between both meals.
I was just excited that I was not hungry all day yesterday. I felt satisfied and this morning with the french toast I felt like I was almost cheating!!
I hope you are all having a great week. Keep up the great work.
Cindy ~ Thanks to you and the kids. It was hard for me to put up my pics. I am a shy person and really don't like my pic taken. But it was totally worth it if it helps someone in the slightest!!
Sharon ~ I was so happy when I got on and you had started too!! Hopefully we don't have to repeat any days and we move fast to the end. Oh, about the cookie bakes. There are actually three (yes 3) planned and the first is this Saturday. The biggest one is planned for the 20th and I totally want to make some things then!! I will be taking some on my moms fudge this weekend and freezing it! it is so good!!

Pam, so pleased that you are my buddy on this part of our journey, I have my fingers crossed for you with regard to that cookie bake on the 20th, love for you to take a photo so I can see what the excitement is all about, it sound so neat.
The french toast sounds sooo nice, will look at that for the weekend, be really nice with some warmed berries - mmmmmy mouth is watering.
You can always on odd days substitute your rice cakes for bread if you miss them, the guide covers that on page 15.
Catch you tomorrow

Day 3
Day number 5 in the guide
and am down .4 pound so I am in the 119's. Holy cow!!
what I get to add today:
60g protein, 40g veg's
1 good fruit and slice of bread.
I still keep my regular three fruits and get 1 rice cake.
My mouth is still watering over the french toast I had yesterday so I will have it again today. I decided to have it for lunch though since my stomach was growling by 10:00.
Breakfast:Cheese and veg's
Lunch:French toast and veg's with good fruit allowance
Supper:I think I might have my chicken tonight. I will be adding all my extra grams here.
My fruits and crackers will be added between meals.
Sharon ~ I am just use to having three rice cakes a day and it is weird having one bread and one rice cake. That will change soon. When we get two pieces of bread I will totally love it!!
Well, I might get a copy of p90x because of the great results I have heard about. I am also thinking of getting the 10 minute dvd's that he has too.

Was it better having the french toast for lunch?

12-04-2008, 12:53 PM
Hi everyone!!
Yesterday I was very satisified with everything I ate. The only time I was a little hungry was when I was at work. It is kind of funny that I had my bread for lunch and a couple hours later I was hungry again. Not as bad as breakfast time though. At least I have knowledge that going a grabbing a piece of fruit is the correct thing to do. After refeed he states that crackers and cheese is a better option.
I loved having the french toast in the afternoon along with the good fruit (pineapple/blueberries) and my veggies!! This was such a treat. When I have it today I am going to add a little cinnamon. Ooo, I think it is going to be so good!!
Today is Day number 4.
(day 6 in the guide)
I have to take Max to preschool a couple mornings a week so on those days this will come through later.
Breakfast:
I had my cheese and veg's with water.
Snack: 2 plan fruits
Lunch: French toast/cin/egg, veg's and good fruit. (pineapple and blackberries)
snack: 1 plan fruit and 1 ricecake
dinner: I get to add 60g protein and 80g veg's
excitement for tomorrow: I will get to add another good fruit so that will be a total of 5 fruits!!
I lost another .2 pounds so I have lost .6 since starting refeed. I think that is great since I am on my cycle. I still think I am loosing and might loose a little more. If anyone remembers I have talked about little sections of fat that seem to dissappear overnight on my hips. It only happens 1 a month and it looks like it is happening again. I don't mind going down a little more since I still have a little belly but I am grateful my clothes hide it!!
I ordered 10 minute workout (same person as p90x) and there are 5 different workouts and they are all 10 minutes each. I should get it in about a week or two, just in time for when refeed is done. I don't want to mess with things at all until I am done. I will let you guys know how it works. I will be going to the gym 2-3 times a week too. I am ready to tone up!!
My stomach has been getting a little crampy though. More food that it is not use to. It goes away within a few minutes but I guess my stomach is stretching a little.
Chat with you guys tomorrow.

That cinnamon toast sounds really nice, thought I would have french toast on my day off, not enough time in the mornings when I have to go to work and I can't cook it at work, so am looking forward to it tomorrow. I've got other plans for when I have 2 slices of bread.

Holy cow!! I was able to get a new copy of p90x for less than $50 on ebay.
live and then . com for the web address is giving 15% off of buy it now's and if you pay with paypal. There is also another website that if you go there first and then to ebay you get part of seller fees back. It is bigcrumbs and then . com. For each you have to set an account for and they both are 100% legit and I have never had an issue. I am going to start with the 10 minute trainer set and the gym and then in a couple months I will move up to the p90x. I was just excited I needed to let you guys know on the awesome price.
Sharon,
What are you planning on doing when you get two pieces of bread? I am trying to think what I am going to do in a couple of days and not sure. I have a couple ideas but love really good ideas too.
lfingers11
12-05-2008, 09:42 AM
I am down another .2 pounds so I am now at 119.4 pounds. I am really excited because I am in the middle of my cycle. I am really suprised I am not down more because I was in the restroom at least 20 times yesterday. Maybe it will show up in a day or two. Maybe I am loosing part of what I am retaining during my cycle too.
Day 5
(day 7 in book)
what I get today
add 60 protein, add 80 veg's
add two good fruits
Breakfast:
I had my french toast (I am so boring, I have the same things all the time but it is so good) with my veg's and also one of my new good fruits. This was extremely filling and tasted great. I am going to drink a ton of water and hopefully it keeps the hunger cues at bay.
snack: 2 plan fruits
lunch:steak with added protein and veggie amounts.
snack 1 plan fruit and rice cake
dinner:cheese and veg's with 1 new good fruit.
I think with the food really increasing I can start dropping out the pepsi I am drinking. My goal is to be down to 2 pepsi's in the next couple days and then by the time I finish only have one a day. There is really no need to drink it anymore. It was more to fill me up before.
Tomorrow is the same exact thing portion/food wise. I will still check in but I won't put down the amounts.
Oh, I was awake at 5 am and could not go back to sleep. I just laid there though. It was nice for it to be so quiet!!
Sharon

great deal on the p90x, good score.
I'm pretty boring too with some of my choices but when you are enjoying it why not.
For my two slices I havent decided if I am going to have a cheese and pineapple toastie or a cheese and tomato toastie with a salad on the side. We never use butter or the like on our cafe toaster and it still comes out lovely and golden. What were you thinking about doing?

Oh, what a mess! I just got back from cookie bake and roads were horrible. The snow is coming down and people just don't know how to drive in Columbus, Ohio. Why would someone break on the highway when there is snow and ice everywhere? Very irritating and they are putting people's life in danger!!
Sorry about the vent.
Cookie bake went very well. It is a 45 minute drive to get to my friends Kate house today. On the way home it took at least 1 1/4 hours! Urrr..... Anyhow, no huge cravings while I was there today. I would have liked to try a little fudge tonight but I was ok that I did not get any. Maybe I will have a little taste on the 20th. I even helped make oatmeal cookies. I touched the dough and it didn't drive me nuts!!
Oh, I did go to Cheryl and Company (the best cookies in my opinion) and picked up some sugar cookies. I am getting ready for the days I get to add a cookie. I will freeze them since it is not for another week and a half. I am looking forward to that little treat. Actually my countdown day is next Saturday (13th) I get to have some carbs which I will have popcorn. Popcorn is one of my favorite foods and I have missed it greatly. We get 50g so that is a lot of popcorn. When you weigh it out it is between the mini bag and the regular bag.
My hubby let my boys eat all my apples which I had packed. I did not know they were doing this and was a little irritated. Even with this happening I still stayed on 100%. I just had more water and my pepsi and I made it through just fine.
Tonight I need to go to the grocery to pick up some bad fruits. I need to buy some bananas, strawberries and watermelon. I want to have all the three the first day so I will probably make up a fruit salad. I am excited about the thought of them.
Day Number 6
(number 8 in book)
today is exactly the same as yesterday. Little boring but so much fun at the same time.
French toast, veg's and good fruit
cantalope
salad with tuna
orange
kiwi and rice cake
I haven't decided if I am having steak or chicken tonight. It will be with a salad which will be great!!
good fruit and pepsi
Tomorrow I get to add another piece of bread. Yumm.....Still not sure what I am going to do but I have a feeling I will figure it out.
Oh, I was up .2 pounds so not really a change. I am still in the low 119's so I am happy with that. Have a great night.
Ok, I have rambled your eyes off now:) Hope you are all having a great weekend!

I am tired tonight. We took the boys to do their pics. Max was wonderful, Cayden was difficult. Usually the other way. We still got some nice pics. We then went to the zoo to see the light display. It was so cold (19 degrees). I was misreable but we stuck it out for about 2 hours.
Day 9
day 7 in book
Added today: 90g protein and 80 g veg's. 2 good fruits and 2 slices of bread.
I had an issue today at lunch time. Not sure if it was the extra meat or the extra piece of bread but I had stomach cramps for about 45 minutes. It went away but I am not really sure what caused it. Hopefully I don't have any issues tomorrow.
Tomorrow I get to have a banana!!!!! What a nice treat that will be.
I would write more but I am so tired. I am ready to drink my water, I still need to get in 1 1/2 liters, and watch some tv. I was just so busy today I did not think about it but I am thirsty. I will get it all in before I go to bed!!
Have a great night.

I am not sure if my stomach is not liking the extra food or maybe a have a touch of a stomach bug but my stomach as bugged me for the last three meals I have had. I will wait to see if it passes today. If not I will write my consultant.
I was up to 119.8 pounds today! Ekk! Probably from the crazy day yesterday and not getting my water in till the end of the day. I just am hoping I don't go in the 120's again.
Day #8
11 in book
Today's menu
Breakfast: Egg with mayo spread on toast. green pepper and blackberries.
snack:plan fruit and rice cake
Lunch:add 45 g protein and 60 veg's. not sure what I am cooking with banana.
snack: 2 plan fruits at work
dinner: add 45 g protein and 60 veg's. another piece of bread. Not sure on this either.
Have a great day. Tomorrow I get three pieces of bread! wow!

Pam,
You were having the rice cake all along on the plan instead of the crackers? What was the substitiution ratio? Like 1 rice cake for 2 crackers?
I might like to have something different than the crackers.

You are doing well. Maybe the bread is upsetting your tummy. Swelling and you are not used to it. Hope you feel better today.

Cindy~
Rice cakes are great!! The brand that I like the best is the Kroger brand. I have tried about 10 different ones and this has the most crunch and tastes the most like popcorn. Also, it is 5 calories less per cake. 15 calories per day per month and it really adds up!!
You can actually have a little more than one but I always stuck to one to save a little on the calories plus the extra bite or two really did not do to much. So for every four crackers you can have one rice cake. I was allowed to have three of these per day. I crumble them up, spray a little cooking spray and then microwave for 35 seconds. My microwave at work only needs 15 seconds or it burns and then it definately smells like burnt popcorn. My boys can't tell a difference and they actually call it popcorn. Isn't that cool? If you want to add a little salt to it but recently I have not been. Make sure your rice cakes are the plain ones and I either get low salt or salt free. The low salt from kroger's is so good. yumm. Already had that today!!
Oh, this reminds me, I get some popcorn on Saturday and I can't wait. I am like a little kid in a candy store! I figured it out that it is between a small and regular size bag of popcorn which is a good amount!! Should be interesting trying to finish that!! We might go see a movie on Saturday which will be so much fun!! Any suggestions?
My stomach ached this morning again but for my snack it was fine. I really do think it is the bread and it lasts up to an hour. It is still nice to have right now so I will continue and deal with the discomfort. When I start having it three times a day I might cut back to 2 sometimes so I can have a ricecake and also so my stomach won't ache all the time. I guess I just like to put this down so others will know if it happens to them it has happened to other.
Sharon, are you having any tummy issues?
Well, some of you might not want to read if you don't want to hear about restroom issues. The increase of food is what is bothering me because today's BM was alot more than normal and I could actually feel the urge in the middle of the night. I was not able to go until around 10 am. I guess my body just needs to adjust.
Oh, I also plan on doing a whole body cleanse after refeed is done. I don't want to mess anything up right now but it helps things move through and I always feel great afterwards. I usually loose about 10 pounds but that was when I was overweight. If I loose 2-3 with the cleanse I would be excited!!
Last note, can you tell the boys are in bed?, I was so tired yesterday I could not tell you about this. Yesterday we got our pics done. Can you believe this is the first time since our wedding in 2001 that I enjoyed having our family pics done. I have avoided camera's and just did not feel pretty or sexy! I felt like I could get infront of the camera and I was so happy with what the pics looked like. I feel like I am back to myself and I actually felt pretty!! I still wish cayden would have smiled!! Maybe we will get a good pic at one of the many holiday parties we go too. When I get the pics back I will post one or two. have a great day!

No tummy issues for me on the refeed, except I find that certain fruits seem to make me hungry, but no problem with bread, am looking forward to having the last 6 days of refeed on holiday from work so will make nicer lunches and do something scrummy with the bread in the way of toasties or sandwiches.
When I can have carbs I am concidering popcorn too, theres a thought maybe one day I will have rice bubbles with my yoghurt, use to love that a few years ago, I literally haven't had them for years.
This program gives you a whole different view of food, things that we took for granted have certainly gained more significance.
Certainly know what you mean about the camera, I have always been behind the lense, will look forward to there posting.

Sharon ~ So far my stomach is not bothering me today. Usually it is lunch and dinner time. It is alot more food that we are having so I understand the little discomfort. That is awesome that you are getting a little time off work and you will get to make yummy meals. I might do a couple cut up fries and make them super crunchy one day. I saw on one of the cooking shows if you boil it for 3 minutes after cutting them up and then bake them they get the crunchiness. I will probably be in the habit of having popcorn most days during the refeed. I have really missed it and look forward to it.
Day number Nine
(day 13 in guide)
I gained some more weight so I am back to 120. My lowest has been 119.2. Just keeping my fingers crossed that I am just retaining water. I am going to increase my water today to see if that helps.
Today what I get to add:
120 g protein and 120 g of veg's
1 good fruit and 1 bad fruit
3 slices of bread.
Not sure what I am going to eat and when. I am going to go to 2 pepsi's today and by Sunday be at one pepsi. bad habit and I don't need it anymore.
Well, the boys need more food. My mom made these really healthy oatmeal cookies with raisins and nuts so I am going to give them one or two as a treat. Hope you are all having a great day!

Day 10
(day 15 in guide)
I can't believe I am more than 1/2 way through already. I am impatient to be finished but still worried that I may gain weight. Trying to put those worried feelings aside.
I am at 119.8 this morning which I am happy I am not in the
120's anymore. I know it is silly but that .2 makes a difference in my mind:)
I find it amuzing (and annoying) that I weighed less during my monthly cycle. Doesn't make sense!
Today I get to mix proteins which is really cool. At the mixing protein stage I can actually put a meat, chicken, fish with my cheese or egg. Remember that you are never suppose to increase your cheese or egg portion!!
today I add:
120g protein, 160 g veg's, 2 bad fruits, three slices of bread.
For breakfast I had french toast with 40 grams of turkey and 120 grams of veg's. Now that was a filling breakfast and my tummy does not hurt. That was super satisfying.
snack
1 good fruit
Lunch
I am going to have my cheese pizza and put it on a piece of toast. I am going to add 40 g of meat that I simmered for about 6 hours tonight. It is so moist I can't wait. I will add the extra veg's. I will have 1 bad fruit at lunch.
snacks during work
1 good fruit and 1 bad fruit
dinner
I will not mix proteins at dinner. I think I will have turkey or chicken. 1 good fruit with bread toasted with stevia and cinammon added.
tomorrow I get to add new protein. I have to go to the store!!
Have a great day!!

Sharon,
I am definately looking forward to that nice beverage too:) I hope I don't have to go back any days because on the 19th I have a work christmas party and the cookie bake on the 20th. Crossing my fingers but I will just have to wait and see.
I am concerned what I will eat those two days and already thinking about it.
I just need to remember everything in moderation!!
Sharon

Pleased your tummy is behaving.
I have plans too after the 18th so I don't want to repeat any either, we just have to stay positive and so far so good, you certainly arn't having any OTT responses so far.
Afterwards? - well we don't want to go back to where we were - balanced with enjoying ones self - as you say, moderation, its good to have a plan to fall back on during and after the silly season too.

Day 11 ~ Day 16 in guide ~ weight 119.8
I get to add:
80 old protein, 40 new protein
160 old veg's
2 bad fruits
3 slices of bread
today I can have 1.7 oz of skim milk with or between meals. If you do this you need to take off 40 g of old protein. I don't see the point of drinking that little bit of milk so I am passing now. It will probably only be used if it mixed in something.
new protein are any meat with no fat (no ground meat) or any part of the bird (no skin) or and fish seafood (nothing processed or smoked) and the milk.
Breakfast: French toast with new protein (turkey) and veggies. My plate was full and it was so satisfying. I was mixing proteins here with the egg and turkey.
Snack: 1 good fruit and 1 bad fruit. I did a fruit salad of oranges, watermelon and strawberries.
Lunch: cheese and veggie portions. Normal allowance. Will have bread and 1 good fruit. kiwi.
Snack: 1 good fruit and 1 bad fruit. Watermelon and apple.
Dinner: Shreaded meat with extra 80 g added in (cooked for about 5 hours the other night) and veggie extra 105 added in. with piece of cinnamon toast bread.
I have been satisfied with what I am eating. I remember people saying that they were stuffed on refeed. I am not. I feel great and enjoy the extra portions. No more stomach discomfort at all. I guess I just needed time to adjust.
Sharon ~ I am so glad we both are holding steady. I just keep on crossing my fingers it stays that way. I can't believe there are only a few days left. Have a great day!

wow that is such a tiny bit of milk!!!
I bet its for your stomach to adjust to it.
PhyllisRis
12-11-2008, 04:57 PM
that milk I would have mixed with the egg for French toast. It does sound like a small amount of milk but like AZ said, I bet it's to gradually get your body used to milk again.
I hope I remember about all your great refeed posts when it's my turn to go on them....you do a great job of explaining refeed!

From how he explains it if you are sensitive to milk just stay away from it. it causes nasal drip, sinus, headaches, snoring, ect. He suggests if you don't need to use it just stay away from it. I will get my dairy in cheese and supplements if it is an easier way for me to keep the weight off. The milk raises your sugar levels and it increases your hunger. Hope that helps why it is such a tiny bit of milk. I would also prefer to have that little bit of meat than milk. Just me. I know some would love to add it to their coffee. Have a great night.

Agree with regard to the milk, not going to bother myself unless I want to mix it in cooking but probably not likely, I've basically from switched from white tea to black coffee and am happy with the change - so why change? Prefer to have cheese.

I AM EXHAUSTED!! My two year old, Cayden, was up all night vomitting. Why am I so tired and he looks like he has a good amount of energy? I am such a mother hen though when they get sick. He has had some banana, crackers and 7 up this morning and holding it down so far. Crossing my fingers!!
Day 12 (number 17 in guide) ~ holding at 119.8
exactly the same as yesterday except I get to add 200 g of veg's instead of the 160 g.
I am having pretty much the same thing as yesterday. I know totally boring but I don't even have energy to think today. :hypnotic: I was watching a healthier cooking show (healthy decadence ~ discovery health) and I think I will make some turkey meatballs tomorrow. They looked really good and seems like that would fit into the plan. I will have to cut the recipe down and actually use a little milk. They just really looked good and I miss meatballs!! I think I will also try to make a sauce/topping to go with it. Maybe some tomato, green pepper and onion with herbs. Ooo, I am kind of getting excited. Wish I would have not had my egg yet today:party1: This website also has the recipe for the fries that I will try out sometime.
Tomorrow is popcorn day (hopefully!!)
Nan's Meatballs:
6 slices wheat sandwich bread (light and fluffy—not dense bread)
1/2 cup fat free milk
3 large egg whites
1-1/4 cups minced sweet onion
1 cup finely chopped fresh parsley leaves
1 teaspoon salt
2 pounds ground chicken breast
olive oil spray
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
In a large bowl, soak the bread in the milk. Let the milk absorb into the bread, then using a fork or your fingers, tear the bread apart. Add the egg whites and beat the mixture with a fork until the bread is torn into small pieces and the eggs are lightly beaten. Add the onion, parsley and salt and stir them into the mixture until they are combined. Then add the chicken, mixing until all of the ingredients are well combined.
Spray a medium, non-stick baking sheet or baking pan with olive oil spray. Using a meatball scoop or 2 tablespoons, shape the meat mixture into 2-inch diameter meatballs and place them side by side in a single layer on the prepared sheet or pan.
Transfer the sheet or pan on a lower oven rack and allow the meatballs to cook for approximately 12 minutes or until they are no longer pink inside. Remove the meatballs from the sheet or pan with a spatula, transferring them to a large serving bowl. Pour Nan's sauce over the meatballs and serve them hot.
Makes approximately 32 2-inch meatballs.
Each Meatball of has: 51 calories, 8 g protein, 4 g carbohydrates, 1 g fat, trace saturated fat, 17 mg cholesterol, 1 g fiber, 130 mg sodium

Never much fun for anyone when a little one is sick, glad to hear he is feeling better today, hope you manage to get some rest today and don't blame you for sticking to samo samo, I'm the same after a buzy day at work with everyone elses sick kids (as a parent it is even more tiring). Take care of yourself and I hope your little one continues to improve.
Glad to hear you are in a holding pattern with your weight, it is reassuring that your body is coping and maybe less chance of a sudden rise and having to repeat any days, we'll keep everything crossed - eh.

Today is popcorn day!!!!
Cayden is so much better. He took a long nap yesterday and slept well last night. He occassionally says his tummy hurts but I think he just wants 7up. Kids learn fast, dont they?
Thanks for all the nice words yesterday.
Today I am back down to 119.2 so I was so excited. I just hope it stays around this till the end of refeed. My last day of refeed (hopefully) is Thursday. Can't believe it is so close!!
Day 13 ~ Day 20 in guide
add 40g protein and 80 g new protein
add 160 old veg's and 40 g new veg's
the only new veg's I like are brocolli and carrots
2 bad fruits ~ I am obsessed with bananas right now
3 slices of bread
50g of carbs ~ popcorn!! which is alot!!
breakfast~ french toast with veg's and new turkey added. bad fruit 30 minutes later.
snack~ 1 good fruits
lunch~cheese pizza with new turkey ground up on top and my extra veg's and bread. After this we are going to the movies with my popcorn!!
snack~2 good fruits
dinner~meat with old and new veggies and piece of bread and one bad fruit.
Well, today is another cookie bake. Hopefully this is the last one that I will not be able to partake in. I am ok with it. I help a little and then just talk the rest of the time. Well, I have to pack the boys and myself up (and all my food) have a great day!

So glad your boy is doing so much better.
It is so awsome we are working through the refeed together and going to finish together, and we had about the same amount of weight to loose together, amazing.
What do you actually do on a cookie bake?????
The popcorn is such a nice addition to the menu, enjoy it at the movies (what are you off to see), slip in a diet sprite and really have a party.
TTFN and have a good one.

urrrrr......my post yesterday disappeared.
day 14 ~ 22 in guide ~ up to 120.2 ekk!
we had to go pick up the boys from their grandparents and last night we had dinner over at family's house. They were amazed with how much popcorn I got. I brought them oatmeal, raison, walnut cookies and they all disappeared. Good, at least they won't be in my house.
day 15 ~ 23 in guide ~ up to 120.6 double ekk!!
I am going to stick to diet portions at night time with one fruit and see if that is what my body is all upset about. I am just crossing my fingers to not gain the 2 pounds.
today I add 120g of protein
120 g of old veg's and 80 new veg's
2 bad fruits
3 slices of bread one with butter and 50 carbs.
I think I might have some potato today instead of the popcorn. It really is alot of popcorn which I don't mind but with my weight creaping it up a small change in food might help, or maybe not.
Sharon
12-15-2008, 01:32 PM
Don't panic, have a look at how I have been swinging during this refeed and the quote from the consultant, its day by day and also there is varying water retention that could very well disappear just as fast as it decided to stay, we can always expect daily fluctuations caused by fluids, bowels, hormones (other than the fat ******* ones, for some reason I am not allowed to write faktory correctly it keep asterixing me - strange), lack of good quality sleep can also affect our weight. But you plan of action still is sound, will be thinking of you.

Day 16 ~ Day 24 in guide ~ 121.2 pounds I am NOT happy to be in the 121's. Going to try drinking a ton of water to see if it drops the weight off again. Since saturday I am up 2 pounds. I know I am waiting for my body to adjust. I just hope I don't keep climbing up. If this continues I might have to do no carb right away to get off the couple pounds I have gained.
add 160 new protein remove 40 old protein (turkey and meat)
add 120 old vegg and 80 new veg's (carrots)
2 bad fruits (watermelon, banana)
3 slices bread/one with butter
50 carbs (popcorn)
Yesterday I had 50 g of french fries. I put a potato on the scale and it was 150 so at first I thought I would not get much. I then cut up the whole potato and cooked it and reweighed (carbs you weigh after cooking) and I got almost a whole good size potato made into fries. It was yummy and I miss potatoes so much. Today is popcorn again and tomorrow for my carbs I am going to make potato skins with cheese baked on top. Maybe a little turkey (instead of bacon) sprinkled on top. I am thinking that I will probably get three to 4 of these which will be so nice!!
Tomorrow is my cookie day and I ordered cookies from cheryl and company. I need to break one out of the freezer and let it defrost before tomorrow.
Sharon,
I am not trying to worry about my weight but it is 2 pounds since Saturday and I just don't want it to continue creeping up. I don't want to have to do no carb right away. Cross my fingers that more water today will help. Sounds like you are having a nice time on your vacation.
Sharon
12-16-2008, 10:15 PM
French fries sound nice, I might give it a go for afternoon tea, I think I will peel them and put them in the oven on a non-stick baking sheet, see what happens.
Hopefully you will drop down, thought you were worried about having to go back and repeat, I think at this point it would be unlikely. My plan is to be at my goal or below before xmas day. To me its like a credit card you spend it you gotta pay it back, and the longer you leave it to grow the harder it gets.
What flavour is your bikkie?
I shared my bikkies with my mum for morning tea, she said it is so strange to see me eating something different after all this time on the program.

Ok ~ I am at the point that I am getting upset/discouraged. It just does not make sense to me that gaining three pounds since Saturday is ok and we just need to keep going? I am voicing my frustration so people realize that there are people that gain on refeed.
Weigh in today ~ 122.2 ~ {mood}
day 17 ~ 27 in guide
add 200 new protein take off 80 old protein
add 80 old veg's and 120 new veg's
2 bad fruits
3 slices of bread/one with butter/50 carbs
and my first cookie!
I am having french toast, turkey, veg's and banana.
lunch I am having shrimp with veg's and strawberry and bread with butter
dinner I am having with pork with veg's, bread
somewhere in here I will have my popcorn, cookie and one good fruit. I have decided to cut out two of my good fruits and maybe also a slice of bread. I am never hungry anymore and could go from one meal to the next not being hungry.
I found a yummy lemon cookie last night at the store so I think I might have that instead of the sugar cookies.

Pam have you started working out at all... or checked your body Fat %... could the gain be related to muscle not fat?
Sorry you're having a tough time too right now. I know I gained a little the last few days, but I dropped in BF% so I am guessing its just the water retention.
Hope its the same for you.
Did you email your consultant about the gain? DId they suggest a few days carb free?
lfingers11
12-17-2008, 12:48 PM
No working out yet. That will start next week. I got the workout video's in the mail yesterday so I am excited to get started.
Body fat % is 22 instead of 21 so it is about the same. When you are on refeed there are no carb free days. You need to follow it 100% with no deviations at all. That is why it is kind of stressful right now. All I can do is keep on going and hope I don't go up 2 pounds in a day. If I go up 2 pounds in a day then I go back and repeat the last two days. I am a better than this morning. I just had to vent and get it off my chest. I felt alot better after my shower!!
I am ovulating right now so I am hoping that is my issue. I have PCOS that is painful so I am hoping that this is the issue. Hopefully in a day or two everything will drop off. At least my pants are not getting tight:)
Sharon

:(So sorry you were frustrated and upset/discouraged but hang in there Pam, you've nearly finished. I've just about had wiplash with the ups and downs I've done, (but I am lucky and still below my goal) so I am hoping you are just having an up day or two, and it could very well be linked to the problems you are having with your ovulation and PCOS. I've just started my last day today, so you will be hot on my heels I am sure.
Nothing like a hot relaxing shower to make you feel better, will be thinking of you till you weigh in.

Pam,
If you gain two ponds yo are spposed to go back two days. Then, if it happens again, yo are done, showing that that is the max yor body can take of food. Good luck. I know the frustration. I didn't lose any extra on refeed. My hbby lost an extra 5 pounds. Men!!!
Keep it up! You are almost there.

Hi Mary
Isn't Pam doing well, and is within the weight gain allowance, and I am staying positive she will remain so for her last day or two,
Just for clarifications sake as the weight gain issue has been not well explained in the past - for me anyway, so I went directly to my consultant and this is a direct quote.
"If you gain 1 kg in 1 day you go back 2 days. But, if you gain 500 grams today, another 500 grams tomorrow, you do not go back. The going back is valid for 1 kg in 1 day gained only"

I am so happy today is my first day of maintenance. I can't believe the journey is over and I was able to get it done before the cookie bake tomorrow!!
First, I want to thank everyone that has been there for me through this journey. I know I have some wonderful friends out there and maybe someday I will meet one or two of you in our new and improved skinny bodies. I was lead here through a weird path and grateful for the journey.
Second, all consultants do not say the same things. Just found this out last night. Quote from my consultant (I am not upset with you Sharon because your consultant told you something different). Just realize if you have a question that may effect your weight/eating do not turn to the boards for an answer, turn to your consultant. Here is the quote:
If you gained 2 lbs from the weight you had just before the Re-feeding, you need to go back two days on your re-feeding program schedule.
Your days were: 3 to 9 and then 11 13 15 16 17 20 22 23 24 27 30.
If for example, you noticed on the morning of day #27 that you gained altogether 2 lbs or more than the weight you had before you started the RF, please go back two days on your plan to day #23 and start it again.
So according to this I should have went back and repeated a couple days. I am glad that when I weighed this morning I was down to 121.6 so I don't think I messed anything up.
Today was extremely weird not weighing my food and I almost grabbed it. I had to fight the urge. It was nice to be able to share a little of my food with my youngest son. Since I started the program we had to have exact measurements and he use to always want a taste or two off my plate. I was so happy to share something healthy with him. Eggs, chicken and green peppers was my breakfast. I was missing my french toast this morning because we should not have carbs for breakfast and it should be limited to once a day.
I will be having pizza with a salad for dinner tonight. We have not been out to eat forever so I am looking forward to this. I am making a cheescake today for dessert tonight. He says that a cheescake or dark chocolate mousse are the best dessert choices you can have. Also you need to have a carb if you are having a dessert. No carb = no dessert. I did not have alcohol yesterday and probably will wait till tomorrow to have it. I want to see how my body reacts to the pizza and dessert before I add in the alcohol.
Since I am a little above my goal I am going to enjoy today and tomorrow and then go no carb on Sunday/Monday (still get crackers) to get this 1.6 back off. Unless of course I drop between now and sunday!!
For right now I am not going anywhere. Still feel as though I need to check in for a while. Just nervous about not weighing things but I don't know why I am.
I hope you are all having a great start to the weekend and I am looking forward to watching you all take off your weight. You guys are doing great!!

No offence taken - we can only go by what we are told. It is so interesting about the consultants with there different instructions, I think I will go back to the consultants and discuss it with them further, as we have been told two completely different things and with both being direct quotes that give totally different instructions, no wonder we get confused. For others following it would be good to get it sorted.

Congratulations Pam!!! I am so happy for you. Yes - it is frustrating to get conflicting information from the consultants. I remember that happening from time to time. That is why these boards are so good and helpful to get clarification. Anyway, enjoy that pizza & salad and homemade cheesecake!!! Yum, yum... You've earned it!! All the best to you!

Hi everyone!
This weekend was really nice. Friday and Saturday were filled with with lots of yummy treats. Probably my favorite thing was cheesy potatoes last night. Yumm.... I decided that since I gained a little weight on refeed I am going no carb today and tomorrow. I would like to be at that 119-120 range. I will let you guys know what I am down to on Wednesday morning.
I am also doing a whole body cleanse right now. Hopefully that will get rid of a couple pounds too. Hoe you all are doing well!!

Well, I am excited to be at 121 today!! I really think it was alot of water retention that sent me up on the scale. Doing the no carb for two days I have lost 4.6 pounds and I am below the weight at the end of my refeed. Crossing my fingers I can get in the 119's by tomorrow but if not it is not the end of world.
I think the biggest issue was the ham which was loaded with salt. There is going to be another ham on Wednesday so I might have a small piece of that with a cheese salad. No one will notice or be offended if I do it that way.
I have found that it is really easy to take off the extra weight if you do it right away. I would really like to have a cookie or a chip right now but keeping my weight under control is so much better!! My portions still take up my entire plate which is really nice. I am using a tiny bit of olive oil to cook my foods and it really does change the taste. Yumm..... I am having 2-3 diet fruits and my diet crackers too.
The body cleanse is going nicely. For the timid please don't read the next part. The cleanse is definately moving ALOT out of my system. They say that during cleanses you can loose 5 or 10 pounds that it is just sitting in your bowel. totally gross!!
Well, the boys did not get up to 10 am!! I actually had to go wake them up. So my meals are running behind so lunch will be at 3:30.
Take care.

What type of colon cleanse are you using? I see so many on the market. Is one better than another? I might like to do this before I go back on the plan. I reregister in mid-January. I have been able to maintain my weight loss, but have not lost any more.
Suggestions?

I use a whole body cleanse not just the colon cleanse.
It is by renew life and has a sun on the package. the package is yellow and purple. It is a two week program and is called the first cleanse and worded on front "your first total body internal cleanse". It was on sale at whole foods for $19.99. There is another one by the same maker that is 100% organic. I personally did not like it as much. I had a different feeling when I did that one about 8 months ago. This one has some organic ingredients. Be careful, this should not be taken while on the diet. There are ingredients in this that trigger hunger!! But since Cindy is just maintaining right now I think it would be good. Cindy, the first time I did one I lost 6 pounds (I think) and tons of the bloating feeling around my tummy. It also gave me tons of energy. Maybe that is why I have waking up at 4 am. Between doing Cohen and the cleanse I just have tons of energy!!
Oh, I almost forgot that today is my first day to work out. I am going to do it at 2 or 3.

Ouch! We had an ice storm last night and I decided to go the the supermarket with my older son. Well, it seemed like everything was good in the parking lot until the very end and I fell on my hands and knees. Thank goodness he was already in the car. I am still hurting but thank goodness nothing happened to the little one. Was unable to get up the stairs last night so I slept on the couch.
Well, I made it down to 120.4 in 3 days. I did have full plates of food all through this and last night I had a little french dressing. I don't think it was even a teaspoon but it was such a treat.
Today is already messed up. THe boys did not get up till 10 again which throws everything off. Dinner is at 5 or 6 so my plan is to have two big meals and two small snacks with diet crackers and fruits. We will see what my body says tomorrow morning.
I am bad but tomorrow I am not following the rules. I will probably go up but we have certain traditions that we do and I think once or twice a year it will be ok. well, I need to run. The boys are being a little naughty today.

Hi there
How are you going, hope you have recovered after your fall.
All the festive treats are a real temptation aren't they. I have two boxes of Chocolates sitting beside me as I write this here at work, I think I am going to have to pop them in the fridge, out of site out of mind, I may become tempted by 3am.
I hope Santa was kind to you, and it sounds like you are doing supurb with your maintainance, - well done.
Hi Pam,
I hope you are feeling better after your fall, and that your maintenance and christmas went well.

Hi everyone.
I totally feel like I am on a rollercoaster. My weight is up and down constantly. At least when I gain I know to take it right off again.
This is my issue. On the days that I can have a little carb/dessert I go way to overboard. Plus at a couple of these functions there has been only ham for the meat which makes me retain everything. I made some fudge (which everyone that tries it says it is the best they have ever tasted) for the cookie bake on the 19th. When I have a piece it is so good that it always turns into two or three pieces. I hope my hubby eats alot of it over the next two days so there will only be a tiny bit on Wednesday left.
Good news is that I only gained a pound since yesterday even with the overeating. So no carb today and tomorrow and I should be at 120 again for wednesday.
My stomach is really really bloated so I need to check in with myself and get this in check. Maybe I just need to cut out snacks all together until I can get a handle on this one. I really think once the holidays are over with and the majority of the snacks are gone I won't have all these issues.
My knees are alot better and thanks everyone. I think I will be able to get to my workout videos again. Let me tell you that the 10 minute trainer kicked my butt with just the first video and felt it for 3-4 days later. Can't wait to see these results.

yeah....there are a lot of temptations out there these days....the box of homemade chocolates from my aunt, the bag of pistachios from my niece, the yummy peanuts and M&M's and plate of venison sausage, cheeses at my sister's house....AND last night my hubby and I went to the Detroit Redwings hockey game and there was pizza (thrown free to lucky "catchers" in our section...mini pizzas in boxes...remember, their owner is Little Ceasar's Pizza owner ), hotdogs with yummy smelling onions, crackerjacks, etc. etc. BUT.... I've been avoiding them ALL!!! I took sliced apple and my crackers to the game last night and I was totally ok with them and a diet Coke!!
(btw.... the Redwings shut out the Chicago Blackhawks 4-0) GO WINGS!!

Phyllis,
Great job staying away from all the temptations. You are doing great avoiding everything during the holidays.
Well, my ride went back down again. :party1: Tonight is another party. It is really hard to avoid tasting everything at these parties. Everything that I taste has a new meaning and it so delicious, better than before. I will probably have a chat with hubby and have him help keep in check tonight.
Hopefully tomorrow I will not be up. It would be nice to stay level for a few days.

Well done staying away from all those temptations Phyllis, you have shown real strength over the Xmas period surrounded with all those temptations, hope your pressies will keep.
Pam, Like you I'm down again this morning, and that was with a couple of evening treats, so I am happier, I think total abstinence is so much easier, when you weren't allowed it you just didn't have it. We have another social event on the 3rd, so I hope to get down a bit more prior to it and try not to over indulge, as you say food has a whole new meaning and begs to be tasted. It is out country and hubby is on call so it means 2 vehicles and alcohol is totally out of the temptation equation.

Don't ask me how but I am now in the 119's again. Very weird. I am glad because my in-laws are taking hubby and I out for our xmas shopping and then an italian restaurant. I love spagetti, I just need to remember to get that doggie bag and not eat it all. Eating a big salad beforehand is the key.
Sharon, alcohol here had really not been a temptation. For some reason I am going sweet crazy over here. I had a drink a couple weeks ago and it made me feel so funny that I have just stayed away from it. Have a great time tonight!
Sharon
01-03-2009, 04:03 PM
So great to hear you are down, hope you enjoy your day out with the in-laws and that pasta. I didn't go out last night as hubby had a busy day on call and I decided to stay home and cook him tea as he didn't feel up to socializing, but I'm up on the scales this morning. Goodness knows I am drinking water ++, I made a really yummy rice salad for the gathering and had some that evening as my carb which may be a factor, but in saying that I am not feeling so bloated these days, so hopefully it is only a transient blip and will sort itself out.

I am waking up every morning weighing 122. I am doing nothing for right now. I just eat really good for three meals with a little treat. Maybe I will cut out the treat for a couple days.

Thanks everyone.
I am kind of bad. I don't follow the rules exactly which is bad.
My breakfast is Cohen amounts always. If I do this and either have the cheese or egg I drop about 2 pounds by noon. So hopefully this morning I will make it down to 120.4, I was at 122.4 when I weighed in.
When the boys eat lunch I have a snack. I have my crackers (I will do four to six) spreaded with cream cheese or block cheese. I will have some type of cheese with it. I will usually have two chips when I give them their snack after they have finished lunch. I do this so I don't feel like I am missing out on anything. I always think the first 1-3 chips are the best.
I have fruit and crackers sometimes with cheese. My cheese amounts are less than they were when on plan.
Dinner it depends on the day. I go by what I am feeling inside or if I am in the 123's. If I am up I always have a huge salad with some meat on it. On days I feel like I can splurge I have pizza with some dessert.
Sometimes I will have another fruit.
I went a little crazy last night so I will be on good behavior today. I have been really stressed and that is no excuse. At least I was not up on the scales to much.

Thanks everyone. Grandpa is still hanging on but within the week we will probably lose him:sadeyes: I think what is so hard is going in talking with him at this stage brings back so many memories of when I dad passed, that was almost six years ago.
Caution for everyone. Fried chicken = weight gain :party1: Ok, I totally enjoyed the fried chicken but now i am up on the scales. I won't be doing that for a long long time again. So my plan is that I would actually like to be between 115-120 (I am at 124 with tons of water retention today) so I am going back on plan tomorrow. My goal weight was 120. Hopefully I will be on for only a week. I am picking when I am ovulating because I weigh more now to so hopefully it will be a fast drop. As long as it does not take two weeks to loose this I will not have to do my refeed again. I just really don't like when I look at the scale it and says 121 or 122.
I have a wedding on Feb 14 so time for dress shopping. This part of my family hasn't seen me since I have lost all my weight so it should be a fun day. I really need to work out for this!!
Have a great Sunday!!

Hi everyone. Well, grandpa passed the other night. There are going to be a ton of people here so you probably won't hear from me till next week again. I think I am going to go to the store and pick up stuff for spagetti and salad and make dinner tonight for everyone.
I lost any weight I have put on during my bad days. I love loosing 5-6 pounds in 2 days. I still want to loose a little more so I get into the 117's but that will wait until Sunday. With all the craziness going on I will just have to maintain what I have done.
Well, I won't get to go shopping for a week or two for that new dress. I am also going to try to get something that will work for when we go to the outer banks for my brothers wedding. I was amazed that I am a solid 0 now. Did you know that they make 00's and I fit into them. I little tight but with a workout program I might get there one day.
I will chat with you guys later. Thanks for all your kind words and I hope you guys are having a good food week!!

Sorry Sharon, not trying to make light of it, it's got to be super frustrating. But I'm glad to hear that you are watching very closely and learning a lot about your body. My mom's weight generally stays within about a 4-5lb window. She's been on maintanence for about a year now. How much is it jumping around.

No problem surfergirl, feel free to make light and have fun, only way to go, and I just love Tigger and his bouncyness.
Great to hear your Mum has done so well with her maintainance, and for a year too - brilliant to hear of her success.
My jumping is a couple of kilo, about like your Mum's I suppose, just finding the right balance of carbs, so I can go more carb days and reduce my carb free days, I think my body is stating to settle down. Even though I enjoyed the festive seasons indulgences, I sometimes wonder of straight after the program was poor timing as is alot for the body to get use to in a short space of time, - going from strict to open slather - gotta be a shock to the system.
But I'm ok, its all good stuff.

Hi. I am back after a super busy week with family and friends. It was a nice time though. I am just glad grandpa is in a better place now. Alot of these people I had not seen since the 4th and I can't believe how many comments I got about my weight. :party1: Someone even mentioned that I was smaller than when I got married. Most of the people were amazed that I did not have to work out to get here.
My weight is really weird. I usually jump up to 124/125 quite easily and then hold there until I get obsessed with coming back down again which was yesterday. I was really naughty the day that there was activities going on all day but the next day I was not up at all. :innocent4: We will see what tomorrows weight brings.
Sharon, I keep all my carbs to once a day except on one occassion. I think the biggest issue I have are those sweets. I put one in my mouth and then I want more. Need to try to keep all that out of the house.
Sharon
01-20-2009, 11:02 PM
Sweets mmm- even the smell will get me going, like you - best not have them around, not too bad it the packet isn't open, one is never enough otherwise.
Glad to hear you had a nice time with family and friends, I bet you looked fabulous - your Grandad would have been very proud of you and all you have achieved.
I've been letting a few to many chickpeas slip in and sometimes ending up with 2 carb meals, and am holding my own at present - but will have to start being a bit more stern with myself, and ensure I keep to the carb(inal) rule.

Hi ladies.
I must say I'm turning a bit green to hear about the 5lb in 2 day loss. Is this happening just from going no carb for 48? Or do you go back to diet portions? I only ask because I'm still up a couple lbs from my start of refeed weight and even the 48 hour no carb didn't take it off.
Is there any way either of you (Sharon or Pam) could post what you're eating for a day or two? I'm just feeling a bit lost in this crazy off diet world.
Thanks Ladies, You are the best. And you are doing soo very well at maintaining!!!

01-28-2009, 11:32 AM
Sorry to hear you are having issues getting those last 2 pounds off. I know you don't want to hear this but you might need to do diet portions for a day or two since it is not working. I did diet portions for two days one time and I felt great and the pounds flew off. I felt great and was not even hungry which I was suprised about.
I looked over your journal and there were a couple of things I would do differently if it was me. Cut the cheese to once a day (only as meal, and only when you want to take off pounds) and for your snacks have either a diet cracker or a fruit. I would cut out the cheese snack just for the couple of days.I only have 1-2 fruits when no carbing it and only 2-3 cracker portions. I think just having your diet crackers/fruit and trying to reduce them down will help or just bite the bullet and go on plan for a day or two and you will see the results.
Also, my weight stays between 120-122 and my goal was 120. I try not to stress until I see 123 and up. My weight this morning was 122.4 and I did not even worry about it. Yes it would be nice to be at 120 or below. I find that from day to day I can be up and down 2 pounds either direction easily.
Also, you are exercising alot, it sounds like. You are building muscle and this will not let you take off the weight you want to. It might be time to get out the tape measurer for your waist and hips and keep a check on it daily until you are on routine and your body is done building alot more muscle it is not use to right now. Remember if you are exercising your weight will probably go up a little.
This is what I had yesterday when I no carbed it:
Cheese with green pepper (plan amounts) meal 1
Salad with meat and carrott (between plan/end of refeed amounts) meal 2
rice cake and orange (snack)
salad with meat and carrott (between plan/end of refeed amounts) meal 3
rice cake and orange (snack-usually I don't have this but last night I decided to)
Sometimes with the salad I will put some block cheese with it to keep mixing my proteins but I never have it as a snack.
This is what works for me and it might have different effects with others. Hope it helps.

Hi Surfergirl,
I've been careful over the past week as I have a hecktic weekend coming up. So I have put myself on next to no carbs
Breakfast - Yoghurt (weighed)
Morning tea - Cohen allocation of rice cakes
Lunch - Cauliflower - not weighed - about double Cohen), with Low fat mozarella cheese (weighed)
Tea - steak with cucumber /tomato / yellow capsicum, and eggplant fried with balsalmic vinegar added after (discovered eggplant at my mediteranian cooking class mmmm), non weighed and reasonable size steak).
the day before was similar but for morning tea had a fresh Rosemary and orange cookie, and had lettuce for tea instead of the eggplant.
three days of this type of food and I am in Ketosis and have dropped down by 2kg to my goal weight. I have had some rice this evening cos i was light headed and we were out at tea and tomorrow will do no carbs. The family arrive about 10pm tomorrow, then the food comes out.
During the week I am generally very careful, bit more so at mo because I had a couple of extra kilos on and a big family get together this weekend and I want to feel ok to indulge in the food I cook, and I want to manage it better than I did Xmas. ( I still enjoy the Cauliflower - especially the bigger amounts - but very careful of the cheese.
Don't know if this helps.
Agree with Pam about the tape measure, I find it complicated enough to find my balance without a big increase in exercise.
Pam
the cooking class was great, and entertaining
Next month it is French from the provance region ( may miss it as I hope to be in Christchurch studying, but you will love this one - the month after is PIZZA.

I can't believe it has been two months since finishing refeed. This morning I weighed in at 121 pounds which is great for me. I try to stay between 120-122. I am finally controlling what I am eating now so I don't have to do many no carb days anymore. I am kind of obsessed with yogurt and cheese right now. I am not having large quanities, just enjoying it with meals or snacks (yogurt is not a snack). I just wanted to say hi to everyone and hope it is all going well.

{hi} there PAM
I’m so happy to hear that you are in control and doing GREAT!! {goodjob} I’m so proud of you!!
:bighug:
Just to let you know that I don’t see anything wrong with having a plain yogurt snack in the middle of the morning or afternoon – so long as you are going with low fat or fat free yogurt (you can add a bit of cinnamon and sweetener) but please do not buy fruit yogurt to have as a snack. Fruit yogurt is high in sugar – the fruit they use is basically a form of jam, - this = a desert! It is not a safe snack…
Enjoy!!! {cheerleader}

Shasha,
What do you think of vanilla yogurt that is made with splenda? Is it still filled with all that stuff?
The only time I have fruit yogurt is with my carb meal. Yummy!!
Shasha
02-19-2009, 11:13 AM
{hi} there PAM
If the yogurt only contains vanilla + splenda it should be fine for AFTER Re-feeding… best test would be to have some and see how you feel 1 hour later. Certain flavorings trigger hunger and it’s always wise to make conscious tests and see how foods affect you by paying special attention to how they make you feel…
:cop: Diet Buddies reading this should know that you cannot use Vanilla while on diet…

Hi Pam,
Glad to hear you have found your balance, I am still all over the place as we are still having events happening every weekend, today is hubbies 50th, so I am catering for 30 people here at home, last weekend it was his work do here and I catered for 27, along with all my other stuff over the weekends I haven't had a pieceful one since I finished refeed. Along with work and study I am certainly burning the candle at both ends, and am hanging onto my holiday starting in 1 week, where hubby and I will have 2 weeks off work - but that has its own potential traps as we are going down south for a few days plus all the rest when you are having a break. I have a couple of extra kilos that keep coming and going, and I'm not getting back to my goal before the next event starts but I'm not far from it. So I am still working on it and keeping a firm track of my weight so I don't go OTT.
Hope all is well with you and yours

{hi} there Sharon
So wonderful to see a post from you!! I’ve missed you big time! :bighug:
I’m sorry to hear that you’ve been burning the candle on both ends – OUCH!! Yes, doing all the catering for so many people is NOT easy!! I take my hat off to you!
 I’m hoping you don’t have plenty of leftovers afterwards – cos these can be so terribly tempting!
Best advise would be that you set yourself some boundaries ie: if you do have a function over the weekend, do 48 hour no starch immediately on Monday & Tuesday to get rid of the extra. If you have more weight to gain, go back on diet for a few days. Remember, you must never let yourself gain more than 6 – 9 pounds.
Here’s hoping to hear from you really soon again and also that you have a fantastic HOLIDAY!
Please do come visit us more often :love7:

Sharon,
I am so glad to hear from you. Sorry to hear of your up's and down's. It must be hard having events every weekend. At least here we get some weekends off.
Well I have decided to go back onto plan. I have been doing nicely with the no carb for 48 hours and this last week and extra pound has been sticking around so time to get that off. The reason I will be doing the plan too is because I am not happy going between 120-122. It drives me a little nuts being above 120. I am going to get down to 115-117. I have also had the urge to start working out so I definately want to get this off because the muscle will weigh more.
I feel like right now I just need to be on restraints with my food. Almost 6 years ago our son passed away and we now have a wrongful death lawsuit. I have the deposition in two weeks and it is really hard for me. It will be an all day thing and I will have to talk about everything. I have been waiting for this for years to be finalized and I can't believe we might finally be here. Because of the stress I just really feel like eating or having a beer and I just have to find another avenue to deal with all this. So I think eating right will give me part of the strength I will need to get through this.
On a more positive note, we went and had lunch at Olive Garden last night. I got this small fruity alcoholic drink and it kicked me in the butt. I never expected that to happen. Guess I am a cheap date now.:):)

Hi Pam,
I was just reading through your re-feed journey and it was extremely helpful for me as I am on re-feed now! I was stressed about seeing the numbers drop then slowly increase and then whatever. So, thank you thank you for all your info!!!
Also, after reading your last post, I am deeply saddened to hear of your tragedy and the new wounds it must open. How wise of you to realize that this stress will cause unreasonable eating, meaning to "feel better" or cope!!! I am inspired by you. Please know that I will pray an overwhelming peace for you during this time and that you will experience comfort from the Holy Spirit and not turn to food.... I also pray for continued complete healing from such a terrible story.
I hope that was okay to say, just wanted to share my heart! don't mean it condescending either since I certainly struggle with that quite a bit...learning how to deal with NOT using food for anything but nourishment. if that makes sense??
God bless you!!!

Alabama,
Thank you for all your kind words. I am so glad my journal as helped you get through refeed.
My journey this last week and week and a half has been interesting. I haven't been on diet plan 100% this week but I was last week for 4-5 days. Way to stressful but I am down 2 pounds from my goal weight which I am so excited about. On next wednesday after most of the stress is gone I will get back on diet plan for 2 to 3 days to see if I can drop another 2-4 pounds. I am feeling smaller and better which is awesome.
I did find a cute size 14-16 girls workout set (where I work) that I should fit into if I lose a couple pounds and if I start exercising. Most misses clothes are to big now (which is weird) so finding something that will fit correctly is a task. This is my goal over the next month to fit in the little set. I will take a pic of it if I am able to fit into it:)
Now I hope I am not jinxing myself by stating this. This is the first winter/spring that I have not been sick once. My kids and hubby have all been sick and it has not got me:) Wondering if it has anything to do with eating alot better and having my hormones in check and being at the right weight for myself.
Hope you are all having a great week.

I was ALWAYS sick... at least a few days every other month and defeinately ALWAYS in January and I haven't been sick like that since I started the diet!
I think it really is the good food!

Well I was excited to jump on the scale this morning. I weighed in at 117 this morning. Holy cow!! I am now about 3 pounds under my goal. I would like to get to 116 so I can jump up and down from there.
My nerves have been on edge during this time so eating has been last thing on my mind. I am actually forcing myself to eat. It is funny that I use to turn to food and now I have learned not too.

Hi Pam! How are you doing??
You are SO tiny!! how tall are you to be so small??
just checking in... also, would you mind sharing a "sample day" for you on maintenance? I am having a hard time figuring out what to have for breakfast and what snacks are ok! I was not hungry at all until today and during the day yesterday??

Awesome Pam!
I love the sound of 116!Yeah you!!! Isn't it a bit freaky that just a few months ago we would have flipped for that weight! Now we are playing with a couple pounds. I LOVE THIS DIET. I have passed it on, and on, and on (Or to use Pumbza's words--played it forward...) So glad to hear that you are doing well.
blessings,
Mary

Hi everyone......I got another to sign up for the plan:) I hope she does well
Bonnie~
I usually have eggs or yogurt for breakfast.
lunch is some kind of salad with protein added.
dinner is whatever I want. pizza, burger, fries, tacos, spagetti- sometimes I eat out-I always follow dinner with some kind of dessert so I feel like I am getting my biggest bang for a buck.
snack wise I usually only have cheese and crackers. sometimes I have philly cheese or cheddar or colby. depends on the day. I sometimes sneak in a little pepperoni just for an added bonus. I will have the cheese/crackers once or twice a day as a snack.
I am a little up on the scale today so I will be doing no carb for a couple days to keep everything in check. I don't mind doing no carb for a day or two because I know if I take care of it now I won't have to deal with it later:)
Hope you guys are doing great!!

Hey sweet Pam!
Thanks for the "feedback"...how are you doing?? I love to check in and see that you are still coasting along and even losing some from time to time.
I feel like I fluctuate a lot even throughout the week just based on sodium...like if I eat out or have banana peppers or olives on a salad. My question is, at what weight fluctuation do you decide to go no carb?? Like 1 pound overnight or like more than that? or if you go passed a certain weight all together? Just trying to figure this thing out ;) Also, do you work out?
This diet is awesome!!! It really really works. Can't wait to have surgery and get back on plan to lose the last ten pounds =). I am enjoying where I am though not to be negative as I appreciate I am NOT where I was for sure.
Anyway, hope all is well with you. thanks again!!!

Bonnie~
I have been sick for a week now. Blah. Who knows where my weight is because my throat has been hurting and I have been eating things that easy to go down. Hopefully by Monday I will be better and go no carb for a few days.
I usually let myself go 3-5 pounds up from goal weight and then I do no carb. You will needto see what works for you. The first 2-3 months there was a lot of jumping up and down and then all of a sudden my body adjusted (I guess) and I stay within a pound now.
I am not exercising right now. I need to get back down to 116 then I will start working out and not worry about my weight gain. I will probably jump up to 125 I am thinking but I will watch carefully what I eat during that time to make sure it is muscle weight instead of fat weight:)

Hope you are feeling much better now!!! I am sure your weight dropped quickly after all that. It needs whatever nutrients you can give it.
I am headed into surgery on friday. finally, as I have been waiting awhile to do it. I too will only be able to have "what goes down easily" for several days, maybe even weeks. I am just going to trust that I will stay to the most healthy foods even if I cannot for a short time do carbs once a day. I hate that truly b/c it just works so well.
Anyway, just saying hello and hope you are doing well! You have helped me so much with your pointers and keeping me in check with what to expect and how to attack if need be...;) How is the working out, by the way?? that is if you have been well long enough to do it.

Hi Pam,
Thanks for the info on the maintenance side. Although I am not there yet I do worry about that aspect and appreciate the insight you gave.
Hope your feeling better.

Hey Pam! Glad to see youa re doing so well! Feel better :) Isn't this diet great??? It's funny, when I tell other about it, I almost feel like a sales person, highly motivated, not with commission, but with results! Yeah. I want everyone to feel this good! Everyone else, you can do it! Be strong. Don't stop until you reach your goal. Then, follow the plan; it works!
