That's a big surfboard(Before and During Pics)

Hi Folks, I've finally got enough courage to post some pics (it only took me six months, LOL). Actually seeing all the new comers posting their amazing progress pics has really inspired me. You all are amazing(and braver than me).

Before, I always knew someone wasn't actually a surfer when they asked if I was a shortboarder or a longboarder. Anyone who has tried surfing knows the bigger the surfer the bigger the board! Now I am still a long boarder and I probably always will be (I love cruising, he he he) but if someone asks me now, hey, they could actually know what they are talking about. I am officially small enough that I potentially could be a shortboarder. How cool is that?

I am so grateful to all of you who have kept me accountable, motivated, and laughing(that's to you pumbza) throughout this whole life changing process. Okay now for the pics, the before is from about a year ago, and the during is from Labor Day. At that point I still had 40+lbs left to loose.

First of all, you're ADORABLE! Even in your before pic, you can tell how pretty you are. So this during picture is 15 pounds ago?! You must look amazing now! I can't wait to see your after pictures--you're going to be drop dead gorgeous! Those are fun pictures with the surfing too--that is a very physical, active sport, so good for you! W-O-W SurferGirl!!! I am so happy you posted these long-awaited pics. It is always so nice to put a face with the name and to "meet" our forum friends. You are absolutely gorgeous!! And already more than 3/4 of the way through done with this diet!! I am so proud of you and how well you've done. I cannot believe you surfed with all that extra weight. I'm sure my surf board is giving a sigh of relief, LOL. And my old wetsuit is baggy(and completely useless). I'm so happy to no longer be trapped by my cumbersome physique. My biggest problem now is that I am DYING to get out on the water, but it's just not a good idea while on plan.

I love all the compliments, especially in regards to the sharkies dropping their jaws LOL, so cute!

Bronwyn, it's amazing to hear you say that I inspire you, because you have really pushed me to be completely dedicated to reaching my goal. In fact, I went shopping the other week and wanted this very specific outfit, and I couldn't figure out where the idea was coming from. THen it hit me, it's the outfit you look STUNNING in from your birthday party. I couldn't help but laugh at my subconcious attempt to mimic your incredible transformation.

Cohen in AZ, I love your comment! And unfortunately I haven't gotten to try a short board but who knows what the future holds? I actually haven't surfed in months (trying to be good and not turn into a psycho hungry hosebeast). But i finish refeed today and took a half day friday so I could hit the waves. I can't wait!!!

Hi everyone,

I went Surfing on Sunday (friday my car battery was dead so I had to postpone) and it was wonderful!!!! The waves were perfect (the water was FREEZING, but that's just a minor thing) and it was wonderful having it so easy to catch waves. The funny thing was, without all of my weight from before, my board was flying all over the place so I really had to work hard to keep my balance. My board all the sudden became high performance and super floaty.

Today I went surfing again and I was sitting on my board with my feet on top lounging. This board has never been even close to floaty enough to do that for me. It was awesome! Unfortunatley the water was so cold and the waves were so tiny that mostly all i did was shiver and paddle around.


Mary- When I saw your after pics, I thought whoa she looks beautiful and I honestly thought you are at the PERFECT weight for your body. You look awesome, I don't think you need to lose more. In regards to the wetsuit, thanks so much for the offer but it is WAY TOO COLD here in Santa Cruz for no sleeves...BRRRRRRRR! I don't think the water ever reaches above 60F not even in the dead of summer. Perhaps there is another soon to be extra small surfer girl on the forum who lives in southern california or hawaii?

I'm back from Hawaii and I thought I'd share some pics of the stuff I got to do now that I'm not hauling around all that extra weight. It was soooo beautiful there and it was awesome to be able to enjoy it in my new healthy body!
The first one is the most flattering picture i could find of me in a bikini ;) The unflattering ones will not be appearing on the internet any time soon.
Next is me in my SCUBA gear(3 wetsuits!!!), surfing, and at Oleo Gulch in Maui.

That is so inspiring to see you in that 2 piece suit. I'm not as young as you, but I have a passion for scuba diving and I collect swim suits like some girls collect shoes. I can hardly wait to finally wear a 2 piece without any embarrassment or a wrap. LOL!

The most important thing to me is to be able to fit back into my 3 mm full body wetsuit. I have a 7mm wet suit also, that I'd like to fit back into. I should post a picture of me in it when I was 10 years younger.

You are truly an inspiration and absolutely GORGEOUS! Stay strong.

You'll be there before you know it. Its nice to hear from another water lover. It's so cool that you love to dive. I tried it in Hawaii, and thought it was pretty scary. You must be very brave :) Once you're done, you'll need that 7m wetsuit. I was amazed at how much colder the water felt without my "insullation". With 1PD you'll be back in that bikini before you know it. :)
