I'm short on my protein! I bought these prepackaged tuna packets. They contain 100% white albacore tune - no fillers so they are ok but they contain only 85 g and my lunch allowance for fish is 110g. I'm at work so I dont' have a scale which is why I'm panicking!! I pre-weighed all my veggies to meet my daily allowance for the lunch protein I am scheduled to have for the week. My only savnig grace is that I accidentally prepared an additional veggies so I do have an extra packet of 100g of veggies but how do i guestimate the 25g I'm missing of protein or do I? Do I just go short? HELP - I'm only on day 3 and I really DO NOT WANT TO SCREW THIS UP! Thank you!{pan}

:) Hello!
I also use the albacore white tuna packets that are 85g and the way that I balance it out is open two packets and weigh out what I need for my allowed amount, and then save the extra amount for the next time I'm a little short. Just put the extra in an air-tight container into the fridge and it should keep for about 5 days. You'll also find that there is a little excess water in those packets that is part of the 85 NET GRAMS which means you can add a little more from the 2nd packet. Although this doesn't help right now, this very second while you're at work, it's for future reference.
Although I'm not an expert or anything, for right now, this very second: I'm almost positive you shouldn't add more veggies because you're short on your protein. If it were me, I'd eat ONLY the pre-measured veggies that you have and just accept that you're a little short on your protein for this meal. I mean what else can you do right now? It's just an "OOPS!" moment. ;-) [Moderators: Please correct me if there's a better option to take]
Hope this helped.

I also like the albacore white tuna packets and indeed these are too small
:nerd:
I do not see what you can do today, flwrgrlie. I am so sorry and can understand your frustration after making your preperations.
:(
However, eating less in one meal is not as bad as "cheating" ... If you are careful to eat from now all your meal by the book, you should be just fine.

Thank you both for replying. I think I really freaked out because it's also my 3rd day so I'm mentally prepared for a tough day hunger wise, then seeing that I'm shorting myself, I freaked! I ended up just drinking extra water and having a piece of sugar free gum and I'm fine. I WILL MAKE IT THROUGH TODAY AND TOMORROW. I've read days 3 & 4 are the hardest.
Good luck to both of you and thanks for the help!

YES! And it was HARD. It was Superbowl weekend. Sat, I was fine but Sun, at the party it was REALLY DIFFICULT! ALL THAT YUMMY NON-DIET FOOD. It's really the smell of it all that makes it hard. Plus, everyone around me drinking. I"'m not a particularly big drinker but just the fact that I don't have a choice makes it harder. I just kept telling myself that the payoff of being thin was worth any sacrifice. I chewed gum and ate my fruit. I DID IT!!! I SURVIVED A WEEKEND AROUND LOTS OF NON-DIET FOOD AND WASN'T BAD ONCE! The weekend is usually where I fail on all my diets. My strategy: when I was feeling really weak - I would log onto the forum and I read the success stories. It really put my mind back on track and I would go back to the party with new determination. Thank you ALISON! and thank you, Sasha, for checking on me. :dance::dance::hug:

VERY VERY well done! Just keep doing it one day at a time; every morning when you put on that day's clothes, you'll realize that it's working! (Always fun to be late for work because the skirt you planned to wear falls to the floor when you button it up :-). YOU CAN DO THIS!!!
