Thank you Dr. Cohen for helping me to lose weight and start loving myself again :)

First a photo from my heaviest weight 255 lbs (pre-Cohen). I really didn't care about myself at this point, in fact I hated myself. I didn't even deem myself worthy to do my hair or makeup ... ever. I seriously hate this photo!




And here's a photo of me this morning, 8 weeks and one day into 1PD at 193.2 lbs, wearing a size 10/12 top for the first time in 10 years!




I'm smiling in both photos, but am truly happy in the latest one!

You look great! I started Aug 1, and at 228lbs. So, I know where you are. Also about feeling "worthy", yes, I know that too. I was so low about myself, how I looked, dressed, apathetic towards everything. My boyfriend always told me I was beautiful, but not feeling pretty, not liking yourself is the worst feeling to have.

I love reading your journal, keeping up, is like seeing myself there.

The red blouse is HOT!!!! You do look sooooooo much happier in the last photo. I understand that too. I sent my mom some pics of me, and she made the same comment, that I looked happier in the later photos. :cloud9:

It is all about self-esteem. Self-determination for yourself and no one else. You will have your kids on your mind, they are young. This is good. You want to be healthy and alive to raise them. I am a bit older than you, my kids are 17 and 20, I am focused on being healthy for my grandkids (in 10 years or so, I do not have any now).

Keep being strong and making good decisions, they do rub off on the kids. Teaching them better healthy eating habits now is one of the greatest gifts you can give them. :christmas:

It's funny that Shawn uses the caterpillar/butterfly metaphor because my mom always calls me her ugly duckling (I find it mostly funny, just a teensy bit hurtful - she doesn't mean it in a mean way). She's coming to visit next month, and she'll be so shocked, because the last time she saw me, I looked like that first photo. It'll be so funny! I can't imagine the look on her face or what she'll say :)

It will be a challenge when she's here because she's very old-school (born and raised in Taiwan, which adds a whole new twist to the old-school stereotype) and is very set in her ways. She'll be visiting for 2 months, so it will be my biggest challenge yet, sticking to my guns and not letting her get to me. But I love my momma, and know she only wants the best for me. I just need to educate her on 1PD as best I can, and hope she'll see that the results are proof that it works!

Week Eleven, Day Seven - November 20th, 2008

I was going to take a photo with my "fat" pants when I reached my final goal, but my mom's going to take them in for me, so I figured I better get a photo done right away.
