There are a lot of things that leave us asking questions in the guide. Usually pertraining to measurements or how much of something we can or cannot use.

While the guide does provide a lot of good detail, some things are just missing.

Here is a thread where we can post and answers we've received from the Consultants.

If ever in doubt about something you read on here, contact your own consultant... as things may very a bit from person to person.

The recommended maximum weight of your tomato use daily is 70g. So you can have 35g of tomato as part of your veg portion at two meals every day.

Centrum multivitamin is the multivitamin that meets Dr. Cohen's requirements for the diet program and would be in order for you to continue while you are on the program.

Balsamic or any other vinegar contains sugar, so we would not recommend that you use more than 1 Tablespoon daily.

Everything can be used in moderation.

Garlic is known to lower blood pressure, so we would not recommend that you have too much of that if you tend to have low blood pressure.

You have 3 fruits a day which you can make any choice from your list.

That means you can choose an apple 3 times a day if you want to.

The example that we gave you of the 80g of kiwi and 80g of melon was because you asked if you could mix your fruits and we said yes, but you do not need to eat the full portion in one sitting, so you can choose half of your melon and mix it with half of your kiwi portion in the morning for instance and have the other halves later on.

It is advisable that you choose the apple at least once a day, so you can choose your 160g of kiwi or melon for that matter twice a day.

A medium apple can weigh anything up to 250g. Oranges differ too much as some have thicker skins etc.

Yes, you can add fibre to your yoghurt. We would not recommend that you add more than a tablespoon though, as extra fiber can cause water retention.

Re-feed Q:
Can you substitute your bread allowance for wheat tortilla?
A: No tortillas allowed on the refeeding program.

It is either bread or crackers, but no other substitutes.

You may thinking of the recommendation that eggs should only be chosen 3 times a week.

You can choose a cheese option every day if you want to, provided that you do not have cheese more than once a day.
Feta falls under the same rule: if you choose the 1 time a week option for Feta, then you cannot have any other cheese options that day.

I think my consultant thought it was in the guide, but I just went and read it again and didn't see it there or in my personal plan.

I thought it was cheese only three times a week but I couldn't find it in the book so that is why I asked.

I rarely eat eggs, so I haven't broken that rule.

The best thing would to ask your consultant for verification. It might be something specific to me, that I didn't realize.

Well, I have been eating an egg almost everyday and only 11 pounds from goal so I am not worrying about it now. :) Also, they have stated to stay away from cheese and yogurt and meal one is either cheese, yogurt or egg for me so the egg is the only thing I can have. Can't wait till I can have a large egg!!:party1:

Cinnamon is a very sweet spice, so we recommend that you only use it in moderation, otherwise it can cause hunger.

Q: How long should we wait inbetween snacks:

A:
You may only have 2 crackers at a time ? we recommend that you space your crackers and fruit out during the day either with your meals or as snacks in-between.

Minimum time between cracker portions should be 1 hour. You may, if needs be, have 2 fruit at the same time, but we do not recommend that you have three at the same time as this will produce too much insulin.

Best would be to space fruit and crackers out during the day.

Please let us know if you have any further questions.

I mix the plain fat free yogurt with a pinch of instant coffee, a spinkle of cinnamon and a packet of splenda. It gives it a smoothie taste effect. Quite nice.

I like coffee and the flavoring, so it is good. I have it when I am in a super hurry in the mornings. I can eat it in the car with my first bottle of water on the way to work.

what is greek yogurt? I've seen it referenced several times before. Is it available in the US (specifically California?)

CohenInAz

Its in the Yogurt Aisle. Its just called "Greek Yogurt" its a thicker type of yogurt. At more store, the Dannon Plain Non-Fat is on the bottom shelf and the Greek Yogurt is right above it.

I got mine from Walmat Supercenter so I'm sure everyone else will have the same option, if not head to your local Walmart.

Oikos Organic is the type I see most often.. go to their website and go to store locator.

I didn't like it, as its heavier and I seemed to have less to eat compared to the same 6oz of Dannon Plain... but if you've never had it give it a go!

Question:I woke up late! Do I miss a meal or eat late?

Answer:

Your meals are the medicine necessary to stimulate growth hormone release.

If you do not take your "medicine" you are not stimulating the hormone.

What we do suggest to do on days when you have a sleep in and start late: swap your meals around so that you choose your dinner from meal 1 (the lighter meals) like the yoghurt option. If you have this occasionally after 9pm it would not break the camel's back, but try not to let it happen too often.

{hi} there Everyone

Just 2 points that I see still hanging a bit and that is concerning egg and yogurt:

You CAN have an egg every single day.
The 1st Personal Diet Program is very low in cholesterol and as such, most Diet Buddies find that their cholesterol levels drop. To be safe, discuss or check with your personal doctor.

Usually everyone can eat cheese or yogurt at least once a day.
BUT the cheese and yogurt options are the least filling meals – if you are feeling hungry, you should avoid the cheese and the yogurt meal options and rather go with a more filling choice ie: egg, fish, chicken or meat.

Sometimes clients get a bit “stuck” and in this case it is recommended that they avoid the cheese option, or that they limit having cheese to no more than 3 times a week. This is done because cheese is higher in salt. Salt can lead to water retention and slower weight loss.

Okay, that then a bit of input from my side :flirt: HAPPY SLIMMING! {wave}

from their consultant responses? :)

I do--my consultant said that they will not advise how to incorporate exercise while in their maintenance phase! She advised to consult another expert on that.

:thinking:My consultant told me that tomaes are okay up to 60 grams per meal; 120 grams total. Has anyone else asked? Here's the quote. Has anyone else asked? Thank you.

Are you using tomatoes? How big are the tomatoes you are using? Sometimes we find that clients use ? a large tomato instead of ? a medium size tomato and this affects their progress. Try not to have more than 60 gram of tomato at once, maximum 2 x per day.
