Hey everyone.
I've been following a lot of threads and thought i would contribute myself.
I have now been on diet for exactly a week.
I will admit the first week i was really really hungry. Not so proud to say that I was eating too much fruit cuz i was so hungry.
I am proud to say that yesterday was the first day i didnt experience any major hunger. I was able to go a full 6 hours between meals. I will even try to add a vitamin at lunch just to make sure it stays that way.
Also proud to say(i know i shouldnt but i cant help it) that im down 6.5 pounds this week!!! :) went from 159 to 152.5. I now have 27.5 pounds to go to reach my 125 pound goal. Although i will admit it feels a little low for me. I think i need to remeasure my height and confirm my shoe size to get a more accurate figure. (i wear an8.5 in pumps just to give them space to stretch out, but i think im really a nine. )
anyway, its great to be losing and im really happy.
I will say though, that although the physical hunger is down, the psychological factor is harder to deal with. I still want to eat other foods i see, but i dont feel phsyical need fo rthem anymore.
what im worried about is that im developing a mindframe of..."im on a diet and cant eat that now, but i can after" and im worried i will just want to eat everything when im finished and eat house and restaurant and grocery out. the psychological aspect of being on a diet and the repercussions are a little frightening and hard to deal with. does anyone feel the same way? i have seen friends finish diet and just pig out after...obviously its not good...but how do u change your mindframe from not feeling like your breaking a fast and want to eat everything uve been missing out on???
Hope all is going well by everyone.
Dee

Hi, Dee!

Congrats on the loss and on moving past your major hunger! If you do have a problem with too much hunger, though, don't wait 6 hours between meals - you can eat at 5 hours. That hour makes a big difference! :hypnotic:

One of the great things you learn on this diet is that it takes less food and less variety to keep you healthy & going strong - so that when you re-introduce other foods back into your life, you can regulate your cravings a bit better than before. Try not to dwell on the idea that you're "missing out on" different foods, but rather envision yourself slender and fit and able to indulge from time to time, while always maintaining your target weight. The fleeting pleasure of pigging out is nothing compared to the deep pleasure of being healthy, slim, attractive, and self-confident!

{hi} there Dee and Mrs Peel

{grouphug2} Dee... thank you for sharing with all of us!

Mrs Peel is so right! You need to change the way you are thinking... what are you focussing on? Do you have a deprived mind set or have you decided that being healthy, slim, attractive, and self-confident is more important??

Once again, I just love AZKAT's signature: To be thin in body; must be thin in mind.
This is a real key! It's all about what you decide to focus on.

If you constantly think about missing foods and wanting them more than anything else, I do believe that you will end up binging... but, because your Serotonin hormone increases on the program I think this is less likely to happen if you follow your eating plan 100%. Serotonin controls the craving for food, especially starch.

We all have what I call a love cup... and, because you keep on and on giving out to others all day long, if you don't fill your little love cup, it can run empty... I recommend filling it with goodies other than food! For example you may want to treat yourself with a wonderful massage, manicure, pedicure, facial, a new bag, nice shoes – starting a new hobby…

Anything that fills your personal love cup!

Becoming a NEW YOU needs to happen on the inside and the outside… Food is only food – basically like petrol for your body…

... but there is a whole world out there of fun things for you to do!!!

...Imagine shopping for clothes and feeling GREAT about YOU!!!
