I was just curious if anyone knows the policy on sugar free candy.... I mean, some of the ingredients compare to that of sugar free gum, so I was just wondering.

For some reason I have this sinking feeling that they would have said sugar free candy if it was okay, but I'm still keeping my fingers crossed!

I seem to think I read this somewhere here at the forum. My gut is telling me no sugar-free candies are allowed.

I'm sure that even if the candy was sugar-free it would (A) stimulate our appetites and (B) trigger our insulin. I'm totally happy being weaned off of sugar and that yucky feeling it gives me so I'm not willing to substitute something for it. The only sweetener I'm using is the occasional use of Equal when making a sweet/sour dressing for a salad and my once/day Diet Pepsi.
If I were to have sugar-free chocolate it would just make me want to have more!!!

Hi PhyllisRis,
I'm in my first week of 1PD and saw your thread above. Would love to have a recipe for your sweet/sour dressing. I found a good one for honey mustard but it makes so little that I use it all up at lunch on my salad and can't have any more for dinner because I've already used my 1 tsp of lite mayo. Does the sweet/sour dressing require mayo?
Thanks

Hi....try this:
Orange Ginger Chicken Spinach Salad
Brown in pan sprayed with butter flavored spray:
Chicken breast allowance, thinly sliced on angle
2 cloves fresh garlic, chopped fine or through garlic press (or powdered garlic...but fresh
is better)
Add:
a few thin slices of fresh ginger, to taste (I store my ginger in the freezer and then you
can slice off really thin sections while it’s frozen)
zest of one orange
Heat through.
Add:
2 Tbsp. Raspberry flavored vinegar
2 Tbsp. Water
1 Tbsp. Equal (or similar sweetener)
Mix all together adding more water or vinegar until it looks like about the right amount for your salad, Allow to cool slightly (or totally).
Salad (to total vegetable allowance):
Leaf lettuce (or use all spinach)
Baby spinach leaves
Tomato wedges
Red onion slices
Pour the chicken/dressing over the salad.
Top with remaining orange (peeled, sliced into rounds and then cut in half).
YUMMY!!!!

Hi Phyllis,
That sounds great. Thank you for taking time to pass on this recipe. Can't wait to add this one.

I asked my consultant months ago about sugar free candy and the answer is "no". I have TMJ really bad and gum just kills me:(

Hi Phyllis,
I didn't know that we could have raspberry flavored vinegar. It doesn't say that in my customer guide. In fact, it says that you can only have apple, balsamic or white vinegar. If we were allowed raspberry vinegar I would have thought they would have listed that in the guide.

I specifically asked my consultant about raspberry vinegar and the answer was that we can have any flavor vinegar....
