Way to go Pumbza! What a difference ... and I"m sure that in person the effect is much more dramatic.

I think the shirtless photos are fine, for men of course. We in the US are a little weird about female upper torso anatomy (so the moderators don't have to screen out a word that would be similar to the white part of the chicken we're allowed to eat). The do it on "The Biggest Loser" so I'm thinking it's fine on here too. :)

Congrats -- and I can't wait to see photos from the NEXT 100 lbs (or portion thereof)! :)

Hey Pumbza!

Thanks so much for the pictures! You have the sweetest face!!! You're going to be a real knockout like your son by the time you're done! I can't tell you how glad I am that you found this diet. You were truly on a bad path there with your weight. You're literally saving your own life right now. There is nothing more powerful than that! Look at your chest! Not only is there a difference in your stomach, but your chest got significantly smaller! And it seems you've stopped shaving while on the diet. ;) I like the mountain-man look, but if you didn't have the beard we'd be able to see how much you've lost in your face as well! You look fantastic and you'll look even better when this is all done. Way to go! :)

Pumbza, I agree with Rachel -- Sean's a hottie. Is he as gifted a ladies man as his dad? I wish I had those abs! Just think, in a few more months when you guys do the "after" shots you might look more like brothers than father/son!

Hi there Pumbza-Lite-Lighter-Lightest!! Now going for Super-Lite!!

Just look at you!! Your photo’s are fantastic! :clapping3: Look at that tummy getting smaller and smaller… if you don’t mind me saying so: you are very well on your way to becoming a real stunning Mr Hunk-a-licious!! :party3:

Despite earlier discussions of goal weight, there’s still some work to be done and I’m glad that you’re going to a lower goal weight… that is a wise decision from your side! I'm glad that you're with us until that happens, which includes your six pack of course :flirt: and then our date!!

A big WELL DONE from me! {goodjob} I'm so proud of you!!! and you must be too!!!

Need I REALLY?? say that your photo’s are STUCK and STAYING?! !!! (no fig leaves required!)

The 1st Personal Diet is not suitable for children under 15 (so they shouldn’t be surfing this forum in any case…) and nor is it suitable for people over 62 years of age… (who might be wanting you to wear your hat if they are really old fashioned and if they have never been to the beach…)

In fact, you’re even pretty safe regarding anyone viewing the new you and having a heart attack on the spot as well as - because people with heart problems are also excluded from doing the diet!

All of us healthy adults in between really don’t mind seeing a bit more of you! Or shall I say, watching you become less and less... what wonderful progress!!

For anyone who may have an issue, Shasha kindly asks that you please take a number at the Complaints Department below...

I am very glad that you had the courage to post photo’s showing exactly where you’ve come from and what you have achieved in only 12 weeks so far!

Of course we are eagerly awaiting your AFTER photo’s too!

And, for the record and for the future (and for Shawn), no topless ladies please! We would have to delete those...

Once again: WELL DONE!!! GOOD JOB!!! I'm all out of smillies, but: CLAP, CLAP, CLAP!!

{hi} there Pumbie-Bear

I'm sure you would have done just fine without all of us, but hey, where would the FUN in that be?!? :flirt:

So, herewith a picture of your # 1Mystery Admirer and Biggest Fan, just for you:

Of course you cracked me up with your comment about Blondie4life’s art work. I can just imagine those thoughts running through your mind: “Help, I’ve offended someone, blown some relationship somewhere and I don’t even know who to apologies to…” {rofl}

Once again, your pic’s are fantastic, just like you! :bighug: And, yes, please do show us what happens when a cave man get’s all tidied up for his Little Girls’21st. We’d love to see some more photo’s of the proud father and his family… (and some new clothes!) I know there are going to be some great surprises for people who haven’t seen you in 4 months… get ready, cos some of them may even ask if you are sick – especially if they didn’t know you were on diet. Suddenly seeing 100+ pounds less of you is bound to be a real shock for some!! Just practice your reply, “I’m not sick, I’m healthier than ever, and let me tell you, I’ve been working very hard at this!”

Pumbza - way to go!!!!!! It's so cool to see you in your before pants -- save them so you can take the "after" shots as well.

I agree with Shasha on two counts: (1) People are going to ask if you're sick. So be prepared. People are STILL asking me even though they've seen me at work for about 4 weeks now and have likely all heard I was on a diet. They just don't want to believe a diet works that quickly. My own grandmother told my sister "Something's not right. I think he's sick." (2) You need new pants. Just think, in a few more months, you'll be fitting into your son's clothes! :)

Hi ALL hope all is well YES SHAWN I had somebody at work say to me that WHEN I WAS FAT AND LARGE I looked healthier and now that I have lost weight I am looking SICK!!Ha Ha!:innocent4:I had to ROLL with laughter first of all they are USE to seeing ME OBESE so how do they KNOW what I would look like if I was thinner and healthier?Another think all my VITALS point to me being far healthier than I have ever been I mean my BLOOD PRESSURE is 120/60 which is BORDERING on very LOW blood Pressure from a HIGH of 148/95 etc!!Then some LARGER than life female (Nasty I know but people are so NEGATIVE!) pipes UP "OH you are loosing MUSCLE weight not just FAT I started trying to convince her otherwise but I could see with the GLAZED LOOK I got there was NO way I was GOING to convince her otherwise!WELL for her and other NEGATIVE PEOPLE here is a bit I found :- "Weight loss typically involves the loss of fat, water and muscle. A dieter can lose weight without losing much fat. Ideally, overweight people should seek to lose fat and preserve muscle, since muscle burns more calories than fat. Generally, the more muscle mass one has, the higher one's metabolism is, resulting in more calories being burned. Approximately 14 kilocalories are burned per pound of muscle at rest. Since muscles are more dense than fat, muscle loss results in little loss of physical bulk compared with fat loss. To determine whether weight loss is due to fat, various methods of measuring body fat percentage have been developed.
Muscle loss during weight loss can be restricted by regularly lifting weights (or doing push-ups and other strength-oriented calisthenics) and by maintaining sufficient protein intake. According to the National Academy of Sciences, the Dietary Reference Intake for protein is "0.8 grams per kilogram of body weight for adults."
Those on low-carbohydrate diets, and those doing particularly strenuous exercise, may wish to increase their protein intake which is necessary. However, there may be risks involved. According to the American Heart Association, excessive protein intake may cause liver and kidney problems and may be a risk factor for heart disease.[5] There is no conclusive evidence that moderately high protein diets in healthy individuals are dangerous, however; it has only been shown that these diets are dangerous in individuals who already have kidney and liver problems."
I think the thing that throws the PEOPLE is the amount of weight we have lost and they have always been told that losing weight so quickly can only be bad for YOU so its JUST a MIND set!!!:innocent4:Have a GREAT DAY!!:innocent3:

Hi there Pumbza

NOW you REALLY cracked me up!!! {rofl}

Don’t get me wrong, but most of your excess weight was clearly in your tummy – right?

Then some LARGER than life female (Nasty I know but people are so NEGATIVE!) pipes UP "OH you are loosing MUSCLE weight not just FAT I started trying to convince her...

She must have though you had one really BIG compressed six pack!!! {duh} Her clever observation shows she is an expert in the field… {bangdesk}

Thankfully we know that Human Growth Hormone actually helps to preserve muscles while burning fat – NOT the other way around!

As if you weren't going through enough, simply by just being on diet... now you have to go to the school of learning patience as well...

{hi} there Pumbie

I found this for you...

About Human Growth Hormone and its role in the Dr Cohen's Program of Rapid Fat-loss, Weight-loss and Wellness

Human Growth Hormone and other "players!":

Work on the Human Growth Hormone started in the early 1970's and has remained at the medical forefront as one of the most important hormones in the body. Briefly, HGH is responsible for:

o the regeneration and preservation of body, organ and muscle tissue
o the breaking down of fat in the body
o the normalizing of blood pressure
o the return of youthful vitality, energy & stamina
o the improvement of cholesterol
o and more...

The other hormonal "players" include:
o Insulin (which regulates blood sugar levels) and,
o Serotonin (which controls the craving for food... especially starches!) and when stimulated creates a remarkable sense of wellbeing.

In people who suffer from obesity (those who are overweight):
o There is a high resistance to Insulin.
o There is a reduction in brain Serotonin level.

All this combines to result in one or more of the following:
o Constant food craving
o Any food eaten being converted into fat instead of energy
o Weight gain (no matter how much or little you eat!)
o Heartburn and constant indigestion
o Low energy and constant tiredness
o Diabetic-like symptoms and episodes
o Water retention
o Irritable Bowel Syndrome

Do you have any of these complaints? Then you probably have "Obesity Syndrome!" and the Dr Cohen Program is for you!

Hey Pumbza!

This photo is from my friend's wedding this past weekend. I surprised the bride and groom with Polynesian dancers at their wedding reception as they're going to Kauai for their honeymoon. I wanted to post this photo in my journal thread, but then thought your Not For Anyone Under 18 was more appropriate LOL

This photo is of me, my friend Bua (on the left) and my two nieces Mele and Coty (on the right). They have their own professional dance group - you can see more at mana-pasifika dot com :)

Perhaps one day after goal, I'll wear something similar? YEAH, RIGHT! {rofl}

I thought you guys might like that photo :flirt: For the curious folks out there - coconuts come in all sizes, although it's very hard to find the larger ones. They are sanded and polished on the inside, and while not exactly comfortable, they're not horrible either. And we tie them on the girls very tightly, and double knot them too. My niece had a wardrobe malfunction at a show once, but her father was there, and as soon as he saw it coming loose, he jumped onstage with a towel and wrapped her up. LOL Don't feel bad about the flat tummies - my nieces are 17, and my friend is in her late 20's. They are exercise fiends, and are in amazing shape!!

I'm so glad to hear that your health has improved greatly! Don't worry about the checklist, just trying to keep you on your toes! You are doing so, so, well! Awesome Pumbza lite!
Thought you might like to think about the cocunut dilema in more depth...

{hi} there Pumbza & Buddies

I’m really glad to hear about your blood sugar coming down so much! That must be a big relief!
{goodjob}

{rofl} you girls are too funny playing coco-jumbo with those string thingies – what girls won’t get up to! Don’t worry Pumbie – we won’t expect you to wear those in your next photo! {rofl}

Pumba,

Well from the last time I played I felt so crappy by the end of the round, I would rather play crappy and feel good. How did you feel at the end of your round?

Good job on getting back out there, did you walk or cart it?

Hi there Papa Bear! I've been away for a while and look what happens!!! You look SO GOOD!!! I'm so proud of you and how strong you've been through this diet. I remember you in the beginning not sure if you could stick to it and you've been rock solid the whole time. I'm so happy that it has paid off for you and that your health is so much better than before. And yes, very very handsome indeed!!
