Well here's an update, a little bad (ish) news...mostly good news.

i stopped losing weight last week (from pms). fine. then i snapped and ate disgusting amounts of chocolate and crackers for two days. gained 2 lbs. hence the title of this thread. so whatever, i'm coming clean on that. so i pulled it together after 2 days, and got back on the diet. today i finally started losing weight again.

my initial goal weight was 100 lbs., which for my height i thought would be fine. turns out i'm now 102.5 and i'm certain i'm thin enough. some people seem to think i'm too thin, but i'm not. i'm just right, and my self-esteem "issues" are actually gone and were entirely connected to my weight. i now know i look awesome, which is a really strange feeling for me, but i really like it. anyway, today i just started the refeed!!! according to dr. cohen, i start making changes/additions to my diet on day 3. so i'm very excited about that, and i'll let you all know how it goes.

so although i screwed up a couple days, i discovered a few important things:

1. i don't ever again have to fear gaining a pound or two, because i now have the tools to lose it as fast as lightning. and that is beyond comforting to me.

2. saltines and chocolate morsels are really really good together. haha. seriously though, that combination, as dr. cohen explains in the refeed, is always the combination that causes weight gain and i really proved that to myself.

3. i feel very free about the subject of food now. i LIKE eating healthy and have created many amazing recipes that i intend to continue to eat afterward. but i don't have to WORRY anymore about the subject of food. i just have to continue being healthy and i have both the diet and the refeed forever as my tools to help me when i need them.

so yeah that's what's happening. just wanted to both come clean and tell you my tales from the darkside, as well as what i learned from it.

more to come...

Hey Drexel!

Welcome to refeed! Good for you! I'm glad you were able to get back on track and get done. Yes, this diet is a handy tool to have, as long as we don't let our weight get too out of hand. Best just to do it a couple days for a couple pounds instead of having to do the whole thing over again. Congratulations!

Drex,
Can't wait to see you. I am 5'4". I think 115 or 110 would make me happy:). I wrote my consultant today to ask what my best course of action is. I may just wait till hubby does it and try to join him for a week. I also want to start exercising again, and can't really do it while on plan and with my busy schedule. I'll let you know what they say.
How was refeed today?
Mary
