Hi, flwrgrlie!
I was worried about willpower (and boredom) before I started the diet, but I have not had one difficult moment in five weeks. Of course, there are things I like and miss, but it's so much more important to me to lose the weight and regain my health! I wish you lots of luck - and do read through the Recipes section of the forum, because there's a wealth of good info there! {boing}

Secretary and MrsPeel thank you both for welcoming me! I'm not really good at this forum stuff do I just do a search for receipes and that's how I"ll find the thread? I was also wondering if you planned out your meals in advance and if so, how far? I planned them out for 7 days and now I have to go shopping to make sure I have it all. Did you find this worked for you? Any tips you can provide? thanks!

Hey, flwrgrlie!
Well, when you go to the main 1st Personal Diet Forum page, you see different sections of the forum - for instance, this thread is under the "Welcome" section - look under the "Community" section and you will see many topics, one of which is "Recipes". {pot} Click on that and you will get a list of all the threads which have been started in that subject, and each thread has several postings.
As for planning meals, I imagine everyone does it a bit differently - the woman who got me going on the diet did all her food shopping and prep on the weekend for the entire coming week. She found it to be the best way for her to stay focussed. Me, I'm the opposite! :wacky: I like to wing it day by day - I do shopping trips for fresh produce, fish, etc. a couple times a week and pick and choose my meals each day from the selection of ingredients I've purchased. I like the spontaneity because it makes me feel less like I'm restricted. Obviously, the key to my wacky method is to have all your ingredients on hand. This definitely gets easier as you go deeper into the diet and begin to find your favorite combo's! :drool:

{congrats}flwrgrlie on starting the program!! If it weren't for the pure fact that I had two family members that did this program and it worked for them, I probably wouldn't have started it, but seeing their results has motivated me to realize like Mrs. Peel that I finally have to do this for my health.
You'll find lots of useful recipes and motivation from the moderators as well as others here already on the program and I think we all learn from each other. As for me, it's great to know if I have a question I know where I can go to at least ask and find out.
Hey, I tried the recipe for the veggie pizza this morning, and it was great, big twist for me from what I was eating for breakfast.
Mrs. Peel - my 4 weeks wil be here at the end of this next week and I'm scared and excited to weigh and see my progress, but regardless of the results I know I just need to stick to what I've been doing.
{goodjob}to those who have just started and those who are sticking with it and keep going!!

{hi} Flwrgrlie
{bighug} A warm WELCOME from me to you!!!
I'm so glad you've joined our Forum and I just know you are going to do very well because Dr Cohen's 1st Personal Diet Program has very little (if anything) to do with ''self-control". This eating plan is based on allowing your hormones to come into a balance.
One of those hormones is called SEROTONIN, this hormone is also known by some as your Happy Hormone :) - of course we want HAPPY DIETERS, but, more important is the other functions of serotonin, it helps to control the cravings for food, especially starch...
When you follow your eating plan 100%, during the first week your Serotonin levels should increase to normal and this will help to prevent cravings - in other words you will have a feeling of having self-control...
Actually the self-control is just your hormones being in the correct balance.
BIG TIP FOR YOUR SUCCESS: Always follow your eating plan 100% to keep your hormones balanced.
We hope that you enjoy the recipe's, jokes and above all the camaraderie of all your fellow Diet Buddies. {grouphug1}

{hi} there Mrs Peel & Inger
Thanks for welcoming Flwrgrlie and for all your valued input ~ you ladies are looking like real Professional Dieters {goodjob}
It's always wonderful to see people making lasting Lifestyle changes and you ladies are doing very well - please keep up the good work! You know you're getting good at your new Lifestyle when you can actually begin to give and share with others! WAY TO GO!!! {cheerleader}
Mrs Peel: You are so right, some people will need to plan ahead and then there are those of us who simply 'buy right' and enjoy the freedom to be sporadic :-) That way if you don't have a particular ingredient you can improvise and a new recipe can be born...
Iggie: I'm so glad that you enjoyed the veggie pizza this morning... you will be surprised what a difference using different herbs to this makes as well ie: one time you can use Italian herbs, another time Thyme etc...
I've got some more recipe's to share with you... you know where to look :flirt:
I can't believe your first 4 weeks is almost over!!! and I'm very excited to see how much you have lost - just a few more days...
