I know I don't get on here as much as I'd like to, but I wanted to communicate for a minute, partly to just express my gratitude and hopefully to give some encouragement to someone who happens to need it.

I started this diet after seeing about 8 women that I know do it with success. Yes I needed that much proof. I started this diet 4 weeks ago, and I had a goal of losing 14 lbs. That may not seem like a lot to some, but it was 14 lbs that I haven't been able to get rid of no matter what workout or eating regimen I tried. And I've been trying. I just kept giving up because nothing was working.

So in 4 basically effortless weeks I have lost 10 lbs and have only 4 left. And I have to say that even though it's tougher in the beginning when you're body is adjusting to the changes in food types and quantities, this is the easiest weight I've ever lost. And I've come up with AMAZING recipes. I LOVE the food on my diet. Yes there are a few things I'd like to have that I can't on this diet. But I still love the foods I am allowed to have. And you know what is the most beautiful thing about this diet? No matter what, I (you) have a personal formula to lose a pound or two here and there if you ever again feel like you want or need to. There is no mystery about what you need to do. I have my personal formula that makes my metabolism race faster than it ever has before and makes the pounds come off almost effortlessly while still eating like 5 times a day!

I have established great eating habits that I really like and WANT to continue. And because this diet is so balanced I don't find myself craving things like chocolate, sugar, potatoes, whatever. I just don't. I actually get excited for my morning yogurt and fruit. And yesterday my friend Drew called me "Skinny B*tch"!!! THAT was like the best name anyone has ever called me.

So that's what's up. I ordered my refeed and should have it in a few days. And depending how thin I look when I receive it I may or may not go to my stated target of 100 lbs. It may actually be too skinny for my body type. I like how I look right now, and the 100 number was an arbitrary number based on what I THOUGHT would be good. But we'll see. In any case, I'll be starting the refeed VERY soon and I'll keep you all posted on how it goes.

awww you guys are really too much. thank you so much for your kind words of support. i hope i'm allowed to stay on here after i finish the diet so i can update you on how it's going.

update: i just got an email telling me to send my lab results to drcohen@1stpersonaldiet.com, which i THOUGHT i did like 4 days ago. i must have sent it to the wrong address. so now i probably have another week before they send me the refeed. but that's ok. i actually love this diet, so whatever. i plan on eating more or less like this forever anyway. i decided today i'm going to the gourmet store to get the really good quality lump crabmeat. then i'm gonna sautee it in a pan with cooking spray and sprinkle old bay seasoning (which i checked all the ingredients of and it's fine) and put it on a nice big salad with homemade dressing. and i'm going to put some recipes in the recipe section for you all now. because seriously i LOVE my meals. how can you not love a diet that lets you eat steak and shrimp all the time??? i've been taking advantage of that fact bigtime.

Way to go Drexel!!! You are so close! It is truly amazing. I agree with you about the steak and shrimp. :hypnotic:I'm also interested in some of your recipes. I got my refeed, but am still waiting to drop the last 2 pounds. My husband is going to do this diet, so it will be really good for me to stay of track! I will have to do everything for him--all the weighing, cooking, andpacking of his food. I'm happy to though, because I want him healthy! He wants to lose about twenty. It has made such a huge difference on me! I can't wait to see him! --we all know how men lose faster too!
Anyway, congrats, and great to hear from you,
Mary

Drexel I hate to rain on your parade but Old bay has red pepper in it. I know because I would love to put it on my crab cakes and I can't.
Congrats on doing so well.

what's wrong with red pepper? we can use pepper, can't we? it's a pure spice. at least on my diet pages it says i can have any pure spice or herb.

Yeah, they say no red pepper--no cayenne, etc. I think it increases your appetite or something. Shasha...???

huh. mine doesn't actually say that. i went through all the pages twice after that post. ah well...

We've been down this road before....perhaps try doing a Search for red pepper and see what comes up. I do believe that Lauren is correct and we cannot have red pepper in ANY form. Not only does the red pepper increase our appetite but the sweet red pepper probably has more sugar content as it's a ripened green pepper.

Hi drexel - Rachel, Phyllis et. al. are right - no red pepper. Pepper is considered a vegetable on this diet (most experts would call it either a fruit/vegetable as it's a little of both). Crushed red pepper, because it started off as a prohibited pepper before it was dried and converted into a spice -- still remains prohibited. I wonder whether you could use all the other spices in the Old Bay and maybe some jalapeno for a kick?
