Hi ALL DIET BUDDIES I happily Jumped (Not Bounced OUT of my BED) of my bed to climb on the scale with anticipation I am not to disappointed although my originial GOAL before I started was 20Kg per 4 week cycle which is not really sustainable as I worked out LATER with SHAWN my new goal was set at 14KG for 2nd 4 week period and I achieved 14.6KG/32lbs which is excellent and I am VERY VERY happy about this my family and CHILDREN just can't believe it nor can I for that matter!I feel the best ever I am 122.7Kg / 270lbs down from 158Kg/347.6lbs that is 35.3Kg/77.66lbs now I have one more GOAL to get to 12.7Kg/28lbs to reach my new GOAL weight not set by DR Cohen of 110Kg/242lbs (I think the 98Kg/215,6lbs set by Dr COHEN is way to low for my frame size!)!!My fat % remaining to get to my GOAL weight CONCURS with my GOAL weight my fat % would be about 20 to 24% ideal for my age so I am happy with this GOAL weight!!!I do know that this next and final weight period will be HARD as it is all the OLD FAT so I am HOLDING THUMBS that I can start my REFEED at the end of this PERIOD!!!!I have lost 7 inches on my Chest 10 inches on my waist and 5 and a half inches on my hips and I have dropped 4 sizes on my Pants size and for the first time in a very long time my Chest is bigger than my stomach hows that one for the books!!!Ha Ha!I have also realised if I get to MY GOAL weight 110kg that would be 2kg lower than when I left school 30 YEARS ago!!!AMAZING!!I must shot of to work to sort out crises I will be on LATER have a GREAT DAY and YES I KNOW WE CAN DO IT!!!!

Ha Ha hi LADIES even though YOU hate us we MEN love YOU WOMAN YOU make our world GO ROUND (EVEN IF IT DOES NOT WANT TO GO!!!Ha Ha!!):innocent4:Thanks for the congratulations I still can't believe that myself I made a MAJOR GOAL to not be on DR COHEN longer than I NEED be YESTERDAY for the FIRST time really I started Tiring of the FOOD on DR COHEN I think its primarily because I have stopped making different kinds of recipes and just stuck to the tried and tested ones and I think its also due to someone giving me the FLU which I really wanted to avoid on this DIET as I have to start taking medicine which I am not sure will GO with this STRICT DIET!!!I don't want to be on the DIET to long as I have said so I FOLLOW the Diet 100% because I coul never imagine initially being on DIET for 3 MONTHS this has NEVER being done by ME BEFORE ever and when I saw three months I nearly did not do the DIET thinking its impossible BUT it is VERY VERY POSSIBLE and WE CAN DO IT and TIME HAS JUST FLOWN ITS AMAZING!!!!Ha Ha!:innocent4:I love Skinny Biatch but it will start bringing out the METRO MALE in me so BEWARE and I have equated my self to PUMBA the warthog in the animated MOVIE "THE LION KING" Being Fat Round with a BELLY and a BIG BEARD (Whiskers!!) the only problem is everyone in the world used that name so I modified it To PUMBZA to use the ZA for South Africa because not to many people KNEW where BOTSWANA was hows that FOR Illogical but I like it anyway I think its the only name like that because wherever I sign up I don't have to add any numbers to my name to avoid some one else having it!!!!Have a PUMBZA LITE DAY!!!Ha Ha!:innocent3:

My specific question to 1PD was can I use jalapeno, poblano, anaheim, serrano and other green peppers if they are fresh and their reply was that I was only allowed green bell peppers as stated in "The New Customers Guide" (I hate when they use that quote it is so condescending). I actually wrote a lengthy reply to challange the verbiage in the "New Customers Guide" because the word bell is never mentioned and based on the description in the guide the peppers I listed should qualify. 1PD replied to my reply that they would mention my communication to management.

However Pumbza with your record results thus far I would venture to suggest that the chilies are not putting too much hindrance on your weight loss. Keep on losing!!!

I copied my communications with 1PD for you review.

I have another question on peppers. Can I use fresh hot peppers as long as they are green? Like jalapeno, poblano, serrano, anaheim etc.

Dear George Kindly note that you are only allowed to use green bell peppers, as per your New Customer's guide. No jalapenos, chilli's etc. can be used at this stage. Regards The 1stPersonalDiet Team

Not intending to sound argumentative I wish to point out that the New Customer's Guide does not mention the word "bell" when describing green pepper. All of the peppers I described are "green peppers" and fit the description in the New Customer's Guide. You may wish to correct the verbiage in the guide because there may be others who misinterpret the meaning. Thanks, George

Dear George We are glad to see that you have lost 32 pounds so far. Thank you for your suggestion, we will discuss the matter with management. You'll be interested to know that the jalapenos and chilli's contain sugar. We hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend. Regards The 1stPersonalDiet Team

George,

Thank you for your follow-up with your consultant. Maybe everyone should email in and ask their consultants the same exact question:

"Are green peppers including jalapeno, poblano, anaheim, serrano and other green peppers allowed on the diet? The Customer Guide mentions only Green Peppers (which are unripened peppers) without specificity. Sugar content in peppers isn't thought to spike until the peppers fully mature and begin changing color from green to red, orange, purple, etc."

I must say that the inconsistencies in answers from the Consultant Team is somewhat disconcerting. I also think the Customer Guide and Refeed Guides are very childish and could be easily made more professional by incorporating more details. Let's face it, enough money is being made on this program that if they wanted to invest in producing thorough and high quality resources, they could easily do so. Of course - that does give me an idea for a small side business ....hmmmmmmm :)

Thanks VERY much PosterGal for YOUR congratulations very much appreciated a little bit under the weather with a cold taking medicines etc but its spoiling my weight DROP but thats LIFE anyway!!!Ha Ha!!:innocent4:I got a email from a preson concerned for my health saying I must beware of my DIET because it is a "Kimkins" firstly I was so confused about what that was and wen't of to check the LINK out I was I must say concerned in the beginning not sure what was GOING on!!!But I then realised it was a Bastardized (Excuse the Word) version of Atkins where they are only allowed 20gms of Carbohydrate and some 12 people have died from this with starvation and heart problems etc!!But when I read the Following I realised we were on a GREAT DIET with THE GENUIS DR COHEN because ours is a Balanced DIET not like as follows:-

What Do People Eat on Kimkins?

Kimkins has several different variations, some of which are as low as 500 calories per day. Lean proteins prepared with minimal fat are the predominant foods. Vegetables are optional, but a day's eating must not total more than 20 grams total carbohydrate -- this means that effective carbs plus fiber must not be more than 20 grams per day. However, her sample menus have totals much less than this -- at most, about 5 grams effective carbohydrate plus 7 grams fiber. Compare this to Atkins Induction, where 12 to 15 grams effective carbohydrate from vegetables alone is now recommended.
No other foods are on the diet -- no fruit, nuts, milk, etc.

This above is INSANE and it makes me appreciate DR COHEN's DIET BIG time and when I was On atkins I could not handle it for 2 weeks I have been on DR COHENS for 9 Weeeks and have never FELT so GOOD apart from a COLD NOW and I still don't feeel Hungry and all MY ailments are disappearing GO Go Go DR COHEN!!!!:innocent4:I hope ADMIN are not going to slice UP my message again I am advertising for them and I think this is something people should KNOW I nearly fell for it HOW GULLIBLE I KNOW I AM A SUCKER SHAME on ME!!!Ha Ha!:innocent3:HAve a GREAT DAY!!!

Pumbza - I know, that Kimkins one is crazy! Seriously scary scam!

As far as 1PD, you can tell them you are on a 'doctor supervised diet' with proper blood work and all!

Keep in mind, change- even positive change- can be difficult for some to adjust to. They are well meaning, and do care about you, but wow! what a change in such a short time. Good for you!

And a side note - it was my new doctor who recommended this program to me - I had never heard of it and was extremely skeptical! I did a lot of research on the internet about it before I would even consider coming up with the money. I'm glad I did, justifies the program to me!

Hang in there - have a WONDERFUL DAY!!

So Pumbza,
What natural cold meds were you taking? I took Dayquil and will take nyquil tonight. It doesn't seem to be doing much good. :( I haven't felt very hungry today though...looking for the bright side! My body feels pretty weak. I guess cause I'm withering away to nothing...(I wish the sickness would just eat the fat, especially the fat in my stomach!) Life goes on...
the chicken soup was pretty good, I just put a bit too much celery in it, so it overflavored the chicken. I ate a fish soup for dinner. I think I will go get a cup of hot water and soak in a hot tub. Have to get up early, exstra early to shuttle kids here ther enad everywhere! Take car of yourself, papa bear.

pumbza
08-29-2008, 02:58 PM
Sorry if I misled YOU GOERGE I should have explained that on my diet sheet it said FRUIT and Crackers are OPTIONAL so I have choosen to dump these in a HOPE to speed UP the weight loss process it was a little tough in the BEGINNING but like all things ON DR COHEN I have got use to it and I don't miss it other than it cuts down the ways YOU can prepare food but there again I am use to this by NOW!!The QUESTION YOU may ask is am I losing more weight well I have so far but I have just contracted a cold and am working through it but with all the flem and all the flu medications weight has been coming of slowly so on the weight loss side the verdict is out!!!The IDEA was to get rid of excess weight as quick as possible and to spend as little time on the DIET AS POSSIBLE but we will see if this happens and as SHASHA will tell YOU rather stick to YOUR fruit CRACKERS and diets soda because it will stop YOU deviating I stuck to this fully in the first 4 weeks and only then tried the above after that!!!Hope that explains YOUR question adequately have a GREAT DAY!!!:innocent3:

Hi all diet buddies I have FINALLY hit that wall my weight has come to a GRINDING HALT and I think I have PLATEAUED for 2 WEEKS now or there about and YES SHASHA I know don't play with the SCALE but my enquiring mind JUST can't resist the SCALE dynamics of DR COHEN DIET and I find it fascinating and it keeps me occupied and readies me for REFEED when ever that comes!!Ha Ha!:innocent4:I think having FLU and taking medication could also lead to some of this BUT I have LOST so MUCH weight already so what if I have to go a month or so longer I can't believe I am saying that before I did not think I could do a WEEK but the results NOW spur me on BIG TIME NOW!!!I think even though I have PLATEAUED I think my body is changing its a little flabby (Just DYING to GO TO GYMM so I can WORK ON A SIX PACK that will blow my son's MIND!!Ha Ha!!) but definitely I am getting smaller I am more flexible a LOAD more enrgy Im Tiring out MY staff at work and I have only just begun are they in for a BIG SUPRISE!!!Ha Ha!!!MY son and DAUGHTER both at UNIVERSITY have not seen me and I will see my DAUGHTER at her 21st on the 10th OCTOBER 2008 where I am the MASTER of Ceromonies and she will be BLOWN away!!MY original plan was to start REFEED on the 15th SEPTEMBER (thats when I see my doctor for overall checkup as well I think he is GOING to be astounded as WELL!!Ha Ha!) and then finish REFEED before or on the 10th OCTOBER on my daughters 21st but I think I will not make these dates which is just as well because I wan't to take a sabatical from social events when I do REFEED so I can weigh and do everything spot on if I go away this becomes pretty hard because the FOOD weights vary a lot and a lot of thought has to go into it!!!The one thing I am doing REGULARLY now is waking up very early every day sometimes at 04:00am in the morning an I ENJOY it before it was the worst thing in my DAY was WAKING up early now I JSUT love it more of the DAY to live now and LOTS can be DONE!!!Well enough of my babble must get ready to GO to Johannesburg to take my YOUNGEST who has recovered well from her wisdom tooth being removed and she must now go back to school by plane to complete her final term for the YEAR then I will see her in DECEMBER for the LONG HOLIDAYS!!!Have a EXCELLENT DAY and thinking of YOU ALL!!!:innocent3:

Hi Pubmza! How are you doing with your cold? I hope you're beginning to feel better! You have been such an amazing cheerleader for so many of us, it's now our turn to cheer you on through this darn plateau! I too am fascinated by the dynamics and science behind 1PD, and am happy I don't own a scale at home because I think I'd be on it all day long. Keep the faith, you're almost there! Sending a prayer your way for a speedy recovery!

Pumbza, you're doing so well on this program. I still can't believe 77 lbs gone for good! That amount of weight lost is a testament to how hard you've been working to stay on plan, even while traveling. Congratulations again - I'm sure you just added YEARS to your life!

I hear that after these plateaus that the weight loss seems to accelerate as though it were making up for lost time. So who knows, maybe you'll be surprised at your 12 week weigh-in. And without a doubt your daughter is going to be in total shock. I'm sure all your kids are so proud of you! I'm so happy to hear that you're focused more on staying on the program than on being done in 12 weeks. That's the attitude it takes to succeed! I'm guessing the ladies on here want you to stick around as long as possible, you seem to know all the right things to say :)

Hope that cold has moved on it merry way and that you're feeling better now.

- Shawn

Hey Pumbza!

You're doing great--ignore the plateau! Your body is just adjusting to the TONS of weight you lost so rapidly. Things are shifting around. They're bringing up the troops from the back of the line to head out next...just be patient. It sounds like you're in this to the end, which makes me so happy! Amazing how easy it is when we put our minds to it, huh? I'm so proud of you! Keep up the great work! And I love to hear how great you feel--you deserve it!

Hi Papa Bear! Hope you are feeling better and getting over that cold. Yes - plateaus are a normal, natural part of the diet process. The main thing is to remember that your body is still burning the fat even if you don't see the numbers moving on the scale. Your body is adjusting to the enormous amount of weight you have lost in such a short amount of time. I always liked to focus on that part of the plateau as well as your skin needs a chance to tighten up and catch up a bit to the weight loss. I'm also glad to hear that you are lessening your restrictions on how quickly you are to be done with this diet. I know you don't want to be on it any longer than you have to be, but I also think that the longer you're on it, the more you are prepared mentally to maintain these healthy habits once you are off. You continue to be such a joy and inspiration. Keep it up!!

I did find a very important thing out for my LIFE NOW AND FOREVER and that is ........I read a book by shear accident written in 1985 (REALLY OLD HEY??) and the man in question lost weight by concentrating on chewing his food a lot there by creating good digestion and preventing eating to much because he took longer to eat his FOOD and felt full with out having to eat more!!I then GOT to thinking I have always wolfed my food down from BOARDING school days where as fast as we could eat the sooner we got extra's and if ONE was not fast enough YOU would lose out and have to make do with what YOU GOT!!So all my life I have eaten very fast and swallowed food not chewed properly so I have now started chewing my food a lot and my jaws are sore and its taking me time to get use to it and I have got loads of TIME but it seems to help with feeling fuller maybe my imagination but it can't do any harm and like drinking 2 litres of water is GOOD FOR YOU I think chewing YOUR food thoroughly maybe a very GOOD thing anyway I thought it might help other people I am surely going to add it to my DAILY REGIME!!!!OOPS I have GONE CRAZY with the messaging again I hope it all makes sense and HAVE A CHEWING DAY!!!Ha HA!!:innocent3:

Yay Pumbza Papa Bear! So good to have you back! I'm glad you are feeling better - over your cold - and that you received such positive attention which you deserve ten-fold! Yes - chewing your food thoroughly is very, very healthy for you as digestion begins in the mouth. It is important that you do not inhale your food and I do think it helps to be more satisfied with smaller meals and to realize that you're getting full before it's too late and you've inhaled WAY to much food without realizing it. I'm also happy to know that I've inspired the metro-male in you with the firming lotion. I swear by it and still am using it. You've got to be ready to fight off all the ladies who are going to be clamoring for your attention once you are done. We already know you have a fabulous personality, great sense of humor, and a kind and generous nature. Now you will be unstoppable with your rugged good looks and healthy, toned body. Again... welcome back and we'll look forward to more Pumbza posts! I think they help to keep all of us going.

It looks like I will have to miss REFEED this TIME around and will have to sign UP for another 12 weeks which is COOL I have changed my MINDSET on this and am ready to do it my PLAN is after REFEED to do a COLON CLEANSE and at the same time to start GYMM I have a WEIGHT and CARDIO PLAN from BILL PHILLIPS which I will start VERY VERY Slowly as I would have done no excercise other than living for the last months!!!I am now in the process of looking for a GI Book as I am going to incorporate the GI plan with MY DR COHEN after DIET PLAN both seem to back each other UP in a hope to have a SOLID platform to work from BECAUSE I AM NOT GOING BACK TO BEING OBESE AND FAT AGAIN if I do I WILL SURELY DIE!!!Ha Ha!I am also looking for a EASY PEASY PROGRAM for my abs or six pack SHAWN maybe YOU can point me to some program or BOOK here if YOU can I would appreciate it!!!WHEN I mean easy I mean I don't wan't to be a ROCKET SCIENTIST to understand it!!!Ha Ha!
I am using the planning of after DR COHEN DIET to MOTIVATE me BIG TIME AND THE THINGS I WILL LOOK AT DAILY SO FAR ARE AS Follpows:-
1.Carbs Once a Day.
2.PURE Water more than TWO LITRES a DAY.
3.CHEW MY FOOD thoroughly.
4.Multi Vitamin TWICE or THREE TIMES a DAY.
5.Excersise 20-30 Minutes a DAY (One Day Arobic One Day Cardio for 5 day a Week).

Then MY Weekly PLAN so FAR is Weigh EVERY MONDAY and correct weight GAIN by the 24 Hr Diet and if still have weight GAIN CRASH COURSE DR COHEN Diet till weight is removed then back to NORMAL!!!

Hi Goerge Welcome to the Beyond 12 week Club but like YOU say WHO cares as LONG as we lose WEIGHT!!!Calling Shasha we need YOU a question one of the reasons after refeed to having a carbo once a day is to stop the increase in insulin now UPON reading the GI diets the recipes lower food insulin levels by mixing HIGH GI foods with LOW GI foods so if that is so it means after refeed if we eat GI recipes we could eat that for all three meal times because the INSULIN levels will maintain a level system which is WHAT DR COHEN is trying to do after REFEED or have I GOT all wrong again SHASHA????Have a GREAT DAY!!!:innocent3:

Hi there Men! You're both doing so well and I'm glad you are resolved to sign up for another 12 weeks and see this to the end. I was disappointed that it took me a second round of 1PD too, but once I gave in to that realization and just took it one day at a time it was better for me mentally. Instead of focusing on the "when" I would get done I focused on the fact that someday I would be done. Now I am and it's great. You'll get there too.

George, who is that in your Avatar? She makes me smile every time I see her cute little flower head.

Hi there BRONWYN and ALL DIET BUDDIES isn't it amazing just as YOU reckoned YOU have this DIET taped and sorted out it throws YOU a WHAMMY!!!Ha Ha!!!:innocent4:I have been mulling around with my DIET weight and finally realised with Shawn's help I will be signing UP for another 12 weeks thinking OH well I will be on for a month and then refeed (REMEMBER I have set my HEART on 12 weeks even my SIGNATURE displays this BIG TIME!!!) and YOU know by NOW DR COHEN and co said 98Kg/216lbs is my GOAL WEIGHT and I have been fighting this saying NO WAY Hose' anyway to cut a LONG story short I was GOING through some OLD DIET BOOKS looking for some INFO on GI Diets or RATHER GI FOODS and I found a OLD OLD WEIGH-LESS book which showed me starting in 4th August 1988 thats when I was 30 YEARS OLD and all of YOU were a TWINKLE in YOUR mother and FAther's EYE!(thats about 19 years ago to last month!!!)Ha Ha!And on the front page it said my GOAL weight was 98KG and as I browsed through the PAGES I found out that I had started at a weight of 112.6Kg/248lbs and within 3 Months I went down to 98Kg/216lbs so the POINT to this LONG STORY is that I must probabally can GO DOWN to 98Kg/216lbs because I am OLDER and am less active I should be able to achieve this weight SO I will have to revise my GOAL WEIGHT to 98Kg/216lbs and TO think when I left school I weighed 112Kg/246lbs so MY GOAL weight will be LOWER than when I was LAST at school 31 YEARS ago can YOU believe that!!!Ha Ha!!So I definitely will have to sign UP for another 12 WEEKS which is HUGE for me and I will still have to LOSE a HUGE amount of WEIGHT!!!However on the POSITIVE side I saw MY DOCTOR to cut of some SKIN LUGS and he was BLOWN away and JUST could not BELIEVE how thin I have become and HOW GOOD I LOOK (Yeah another one who needs Glasses or a BLIND DOG!!Ha Ha!!).Well I have over done it again Sorry but I am off to change my GOAL weight and to tell MY consultant the same he/she/it will have a GREAT LAUGH at my expense but suppose I deserve it for being FULL OF IT!!!Have a FAT LOSS DAY!!!:innocent3:

Hi there ALL I have to had to have a little rethink about the dieting after refeed after SHASHA rocked my BOAT!!Ha Ha!:innocent4:IT appears that not only does the DR COHEN maintenance DIET keep your blood sugar constant to prevent cravings it brings with it a very important factor namely HGH (Human GROWTH HORMONES) until now I just thought Naively it was a "LADIES" thing!!!But it is a very important part to cell growth anti aging fat loss disease control etc and because I was OBESE for many years it has not had a CHANCE to do all its GOOD work in MY BODY and as YOU get older it decreases the HGH that is!!!What's funny its started to work in our bodies naturally now and thats why we feel so GOOD alive and full of ENERGY and there are PEOPLE out there paying BIG money getting it INJECTED into them when a diet can stimulate it naturally so a added BONUS of DR COHEN DIET!!! I was looking at the GI way of life which keeps the sugar constant as well but it uses a lot of carbs throughout the diet in fact it reckommends a 60% of food USAGE to be CARBO and I think this is where DOCTOR COHEN and GI differ BIG TIME and its that DR COHEN maintenance allows YOU CARBS but limited I presume to keep YOUR HGH functioning fully which has a LOT of benefits so it appears that I will have to change my way of eating and wean myself of a big DIET in carbo's and GO more for PROTEIN and VEGTABLES with a smaller allowable CARBO's!!!

Just found this on HGH:-

What role does HGH play in the body?

Human growth hormone and IGF-1 have been shown to play a significant role in:
· Conversion of body fat to muscle mass
· Growth of all tissues
· Improve energy level
· Tissue repair
· Whole body healing
· Cell replacement
· Bone strength
· Brain function
· Sexual function
· Organ health and integrity
· Enzyme production
· Integrity of hair, nails, skin and vital organs
Basically, anything that goes on in your body is in some way tied to HGH. This is why HGH is often called the "fountain of youth". Elevated HGH levels are what makes you feel young again.

AND THIS

Are there other ways to naturally increase HGH levels?

Yes. Diet, exercise and lifestyle all have an impact on HGH levels. Certain foods can spike HGH levels and exercise leads to an increase in HGH. In addition, something as simple as getting more sleep can increase your HGH levels. Our pituitary gland produces HGH while we are in deep sleep. Therefore, the more we sleep the more opportunity we have to produce HGH.
We highly recommend a book called "Natural Hormonal Enhancement" by Rob Faigin. Even if you don't like to take any supplements - this book is amazing. It is basically a bible on how to develop an eating plan that will naturally increase your HGH levels. With over 1700 references to medical studies, it is hands down the best book on Natural Hormonal Enhancement we have ever read.

I aslo learned that the medical experts recommended amount of water one should drink is half of YOUR BODY weight in POUNDS gives you the fluid ounces water YOU require or for every 70 fluid ounces that equates to two litres of water.

For example with SHAWN's weight of 155lbs divide by 2 = 77.5 fluid ounces = divide by 70 = 1.11 x 2 litres = 2.21 Litres.

I have to consume about three litre's a day which feels right now and I have a LITRE at BREAKFAST a Litre at LUNCH and a LITRE at SUPER and then I am on TOP of the WORLD!!!

My MOM decided she had enough and BOUGHT me a PAIR of PANTS size 40 (I was a 46) and it FITS but I have a FEELING in a months TIME it may be TO BIG can YOU believe that nearly 6 inches of MY WASTE line I just can't fathom that out I never knew I could HIDE FAT SO WELL!!:innocent3:

Pumbza...you'll make re-feed eventually....either this next 12 weeks or the next one! I, too, will be signing up for at least another 12 weeks! I've kind of calculated how much longer it might take me to get to my target weight and I'll more than likely need 3 12-week programs...BUT I liken it to being pregnant (which I know YOU can't personally relate to...grin)...it's a journey of 9 months!! Pumbza - You're doing so well!!! I'm proud of you for signing up for another 12 weeks! I have no doubt you will succeed!

I have a quick question - I noticed you weren't eating your crackers and fruit to speed up the weight loss. Is it really helping? I've found that I'm not eating my entire cracker and fruit allowance anymore, but I still like to have the option as a security blanket of sorts. I don't own a scale at home, so I'm not really sure how it affects me on the days I eat less than my full allowance.

Thanks!

CONGRATULATIONS, PUMBZA!!! You should be so proud of yourself! No wonder you feel amazing! You've basically lost 100lbs in three months! That's got to be a record! You are so positive--just keep picturing your goal and I bet you can do it by your birthday celebration. And if not, no biggie--you'll probably be on refeed by then, and that's FUN! You'll really enjoy getting different foods each day, one by one. You can do it! Go go go!!! :)

WOW!
Congratulations!

Pumbza, that is AMAZING! I can't even begin to imagine THAT much weight loss in such a short amount of time! I think Dr. Cohen is going to be approaching you for before/after photos -- including some now at 100 lbs in 12 weeks -- to use for promotional reasons. They'd be silly not to use you as an amazing example!

I'm SO HAPPY FOR YOU!!!!! You're going to have to go on the speaking circuit or write a book on your healthy weight loss. This is a GREAT story!

Pumbza,
You are our hero!!! {king}What willpower, what stamina, what strength, what an amazing weight loss! Incredible. If we didn't know you, we wouldn't beleive it! Your family is going to absolutely flip when they see you! I'm very excited about the drop in blood pressure, as I know that is one of the scariest indicators of heart problems and stroke. (Mine was very high off and onthese past 4 years--I'm going to go check it)
I'm so proud of you papa bear. I agree, you will be the new cover model for Cohen!!!

Pumbza, 99lbs in 12 weeks, i just can't imagine. I can't believe you can keep wearing the same clothes. How are you doing that? I have lost over 50lbs and i weigh in on the 30th of this month. There is no way i would even be able to keep my pants up, even with a belt!!!! Anyway, SUPER JOB MY LITTLE PAPA BEAR. We'll probably be on re-feed about the same time. AWESOME HUH? :love1: MIMI

Hi to all the diet buddies and SHASHA and thats why I love this site with all YOUR WONDERFUL WONDERFUL PRAISE AND CONGRATULATIONS AND MOTIVATION I am addicted to all of YOU and I will keep on coming BACK AGAIN AND AGAIN !!Ha Ha!:innocent4:SORRY if I sound UNGRATEFUL but I have so set my sights on LOSING weight quickly but I have realised that what I have managed is QUITE GOOD considering I just have two big events coming UP and I was HOPING to finish before then but I suppose I was a BIT unrealistic !!!Now I have to diet around these two events to finish my diet and refeed which will have to be PLANNED and I will have to start bringing my crackers and fruit back on line before refeed to slowly get into the REFEED more and more plans I was trying to make things easier but its got a LITTLE complicated but as we all say WE CAN DO IT!!!I was watching a weight loss program the other day and they were saying there is no diet that works and YOU can't lose weight quickly and YOU must diet and do excercise over TIME to lose weight etc blah blah and I had to laugh and I felt like phoning in and saying they are all WRONG there is a DIET that does exactly that lose weight quickly and no excercise its the DR COHEN DIET its sad that people are not aware of the DR COHEN diet in his own HOME country!!!The other NEWS I have is yesterday I weighed exactly what I weighed when I left school to go to UNIVERSITY and that was 112KG that is 30 YEARS AGO can YOU believe that I can't I have never weighed 112KG since then and I still have 12Kg to go before refeed and 14Kg to get to my GOAl weight and I thought I could only reach 110KG for my GOAL weight but I am about to shoot BY (I HOPE!!Ha Ha)!!The other thing is MY MOM bought me a pants size 40 (I know its different from YOUR sizes it stands for 102cm) which is smaller than the 46 I use to wear (117cm) and now the size 40 is going to be to small!!The rest of my cloths is a size 46 and 5xl and the belt is struggling to hold my cloths up and my shirts look like they are way to big but I am sticking to no changing old cloths till I am finished in about two months so I will have to look like a ORPHAN for some more TIME!!!Ha Ha!!Have a GREAT DAY!!:innocent3:

{hi} there Pumbza-Lite

I can’t believe our weight loss King {king} is weighing what he last did 30 years ago!! Talk about turning back the clock!!!

Man, I sure hope you’ve got a school reunion planned!! Can you imagine their faces… you haven't changed a bit! - well, maybe the beard!!

And then you can show them your before photo’s to show how great you’ve done!

I remember the one is your 50th birthday, when is that? When is your other function? Are they both just one day things? Because you've lost so much weight so fast, it's very important not to deviate - remember, the program is working with your hormones and I've seen too many Diet Buddies fall off the bus and struggle to get back on track cos of just one xyz... which becomes another and another...

Sorry for asking, but which goal are you trying to achieve? Your personal goal or Dr Cohen's recommened goal? If I remember right, you said you wanted a higher goal due to more muscles and a larger frame size? I'm just trying to picture how close you will be to which goal by the time your functions happen etc.

and, NO, {noway} you cannot go to your function and your 50th Birthday dressed in those old clothes that no longer fit!! Unless of couse you cut the one leg off and wear that as a skirt! :flirt: ??

In the meantime, this should help to keep your pant up:

Pumbza,

I wonder if we can post videos on here. I can't remember if I said this before (I know I thought of it), but it would be so awesome if someone could record your family's reaction the first time they see you. Of course, you don't want us to see what you look like 'til you're done (you're so funny!). But it's probably going to be one of those emotional reunions like on TV. Tell someone to get a camera ready, at least so you can keep it always as motivation to keep the weight off! I'm so happy for you and proud of you! You truly are a star on this diet!!!

Pumbza .. VERY COOL that you're aiming for Cohen's goal weight rather than your own. :) I'm sure it's smaller than you may have been in years and years, but it probably is a good weight. I can't wait to see your 12 week weigh-in, and then your 16 weeks. I can't even imagine what it must be like to have lost over 100 lbs. Do you find it much easier to do everyday things -- walk up a flight of stairs? I know for me that I was almost getting winded carrying groceries up one flight of stairs -- now I can run up them without being winded.

How has losing this much weight ALREADY changed your life?

Hi MY BUDDY SHAWN how are things GOING its GOOD to hear from YOU I thought YOU deserted us!!!Ha Ha!SHAWN YOU can't believe the difference for the first time in YEARS maybe 10 to 15 years I am able to reach my ankles YEAH go ahead and LAUGH I can just hear YOU it is funny but its true I am much more flexible without a BIG STOMACH I feel really GREAT my mind is so much more active I can think of 4 or 5 things at a TIME the last TIME I did that I can't remember when my STAFF at work are having a TUFF time I am remembering things and CHASING them to do their WORK now!!!Ha Ha!The other day I walked the HUGE market FLOOR in Johannesburg and I walked solidly for an HOUR and I did not PUFF or strain it was ENJOYABLE before I would have to sit and rest (Imagine carry 158Kg around now only 110Kg thats 48Kg what a DIFFRENCE!!)!I use to have zinging sounds in my ears because of BLOOD PRESSURE but now I feel so much better and calmer although from TIME to TIME I am still a little GROUCHY but thats part of the DIET!!!I know this sounds CRAZY but I feel much better now that the Human Growth Hormone is building cells etc this maybe all in the mind but I really feel GOOD so much so that when I finish the DIET I wonder if I will just relapse into eating badly as I will start feeling TERRIBLE again and BLOATED etc!I am less GASSY if YOU know what I mean?I can even TOUCH my toes I know that sounds so MINOR but when A person has been inflexible like I have been its a MIRACLE!!!Ha Ha!!!Sorry I have carried on like that but its a real interesting QUESTION YOU have posed I have never though about it till NOW!!!I use to use a machine to breath at night because I stopped breathing while sleeping because of my large neck size I now have not used the machine for over a month I am like a FREE MAN!!!I will think on this some more but its enough for now!!Have a GREAT DAY!!:innocent3::innocent3:

Wow, Pumbza!!!! That is so great to hear! You are an inspiration to us all! And yes, if you do eat naughty foods, they're still not going to make you feel good. They'll taste yummy, though, but especially after that first meal--it's a weird feeling. Like you'll wish you hadn't done that, yet you did enjoy it. Then the trick is to keep plenty of healthy foods in your diet and limit naughty things to small portions in moderation. I know you'd never let yourself get back to where you were, because you'd never want to go through this diet again! Maybe for a day or a week, but who wants to do it for this long again? NOT ME! :) And I'm going to do everything in my power to not gain the weight back. I'm so excited about that challenge!

Pumbza....that is sooo great about all the health benefits you're already enjoying!
I, too, have noticed an increase in stamina, less body aches/pains, and flexibility...and I've only lost 36 pounds...not the 100+ that you have lost! Today I was with my hubby as he had a port implanted for his chemo treatments (after 27 months his superficial veins in his arms are getting "tired" so they just don't work as well as they used to). Anyway...when they were done with the port we walked to the hospital cafeteria so he could have lunch (I brought mine along in an insulated lunch bag, thank you very much!) and I had my heavy computer backpack on my back ( I sit and use the free wireless internet connection at the hospital...doing work away from school...while waiting for hubby)...I didn't get winded but noticed that my legs were getting the nasty pains again. I figured it was from all the weight in my backpack. So....hubby had a doctor's appointment at the hospital after lunch and they always have him get on the scale before going into the exam room. After he was done with the scale I put my backpack on it and it weighed over 19 pounds!!! No wonder my body was rebelling....AND I thought..I've LOST over 10 MORE pounds than the backpack weighed!!! No wonder I'm feeling better!!!!
Anyhow....I'm sooo thankful for this diet and all the benefits we are gaining from it! Not only the fat loss (and the better looks we will have) but the lower blood pressure, lower cholestrerol, fewer pains, better for our pancreas, liver, EVERYTHING!!!
Phyllis

Hi there Pumbza

I just know your daughter is so proud of her new skinny Dad, nothing would mean more to her than your health and that is why she doesn’t want you to mess this up! But, you can add some sprite zero bubbles to your Champaign glass! And if you don’t want Champaign, you can for sure drink plain sparkling water in a Champaign glass! I’ll bet you’re the first Dad to show such dedication as to determine to toast your daughter’s 21st with pure good healthy stuff! I see this as your dedication towards a healthy happy future together! I know it is HARD, so :clapping3: WELL DONE!!!

Just remember, you can eat your fillet steak there with a delicious salad make from nice curly lettuce leaves etc. Your desert can be a baked apple or sliced kiwi or mango…

Going to Chobe sounds fantastic! What a dream come true!

About your goal – just remember, Dr Cohen cannot see you so if you have a large frame and more muscles you can ask to change your goal a bit higher, if you have a small frame, you can also change your goal lower. Your aim should be to lose the excess body fat, look good and feel great! Let us know what the lady says… 98 or 110?? would be interesting to know!!

About the BBQ chicken - MMMmmmmm :hungry: sounds soooo good! I recommend that you chew and chew and chew your food – I think it was on the forum that someone said 40 times? Well, maybe not quiet? Maybe 10 or 20… bottom line, the more you chew, the more you aid digestion, but at the same time, you enjoy your foods, they last longer and you will feel full faster!

OH WOW Pumbie, I just read your post about coming off the breathing machine :bighug: sob! :bighug: I’m so glad you did this diet and that you are a FREE man again!! YOU must never go back to eating unhealthy fatty foods again! I don’t care how good they taste, feeling GREAT and feeling FREE feels so much better!!!
