hi, there-
i just started the program 5 days ago and thought "cyberella" as a nick would b nice, but then realized that only "hungry" could describe my state at present.:thinking:
eventhough i have tried loz and loz of diets along the way, i can't recall having felt soo hungry 4 so many days (and i also did 21 days of fasting with only tea and water once)
the good thing is: so far i seem 2 loose half a kilo every day (according 2 my scale iz not only water but also fat)...:praying: i sure hope it stays that way.
the most important thing though is that i am very very happy 2 b here now as i'm sure this one is the one!
i came a terribly long way 2 find what all of us get here 4 a better quality of life!:)
and i'm looking 4ward 2 the progress...
babi {grouphug1} all the best 2 all of u(s)!!!!

{hi} there Cyberella
I just LOVE your net name {rofl} it is just sooooo CUTE!!!
A {bighug} warm welcome from me!!
{sorry} to hear that you are feeling hungry - that is not nice!
Please try the following: avoid the cheese and the yogurt options for now - because these are the least filling meals. Please take a second multi-vitamin at lunchtime, each day for the following 10 days. Let's see if the above helps.
In addition to this, try drinking a glass of water when you feel hungry. We do have clients who confuse hunger with thirst.
Another little problem may be having apples - do they normally trigger hunger for you ie: if you eat an apple are you hungry 20 minutes later? If so, please avoid having the apple, rather choose from the other fruit on your eating plan.
It would be a good idea to read through your New Customer Guide again to check to make sure that you are following your eating plan 100%.
If the hunger continues, please write to your consultant who will try to help you pin-point the cause.
I wish you much success with your program and hope that the hunger will soon be something of the past!!! Hope to hear from you again soon :-)
Happy Dieting!!!

:peace:
thank u 4 your nice reply and all the ideas--
i'm such a diet-queen that the hunger and thirst-confusion is (unfortunately9 not the problem-
the apples used 2 make me hungry when i was younger but when i have apples now i'm quite content 4 a while.
i breast-fed until dec.30th 4 2 years and maybe i'm just HUNGRY in an energetic way and my stomach only shows the symptoms...
:confused: blah blah blah--
i havent got a clue, but i also printed out the exact instructions and even put the allowances in little lists- everything pinned 2 my fridge.
anywho, i'm going 2 try the multivitamins in double-dosis and will drink even more-
what i have 2 add is that i'm doing the vegetarian-version, so not taking the cheese and yoghurt-options leaves me with next 2 no choice. and tofu isn't that stuffing eather :crying:
whatever; i'm a big girl *g* and won't cry, ok?! sniff sniff..
all the best,
cyberella:dance:
Cyberella,
I've found that eating oranges instead of the apples helps me. They are much more filling than apples. I was on this diet a couple of years ago and I started again few weeks ago and that was my conclusion even back then.
Also, I know it's recommended to drink water whenevr you are hungry, but I find that if I drink water when I am hungry - it makes me even more hungry... Strange? So, I drink my water before and while eating my meals or my fruits/crackers. I drink water between meals only when I am really thirsty.
Are you allowed to eat egg? I've found that a hard boiled egg in the morning with some sauted mushrooms (for veggies) keeps me going until my snack time.

{hi}thank u 4 your nice answer and 4 the hinz given! i have eaten oranges from the beginning but eat sometimes 2 and one other fruit a day (hope thaz allowed) - 2day i was feeling a little less hungry!
and luckily i'm allowed 2 have eggs (but only one per day).
the first 2 days of my dieting were fine and on the second day i left out one fruit as i was 2 busy- thaz when the hunger started.
one thing i've been wondering about is how 1 teaspoon of low fat mayonnaise is allowed -with one meal- when the consultant told me 2 keep the 5 hours food-break stricktly 2 not mix the different proteins. -mayonnaise is made of raw eggs (low fat or not) and thaz Y i havent taken the mayo at all. maybe i should 2 make me at least once a day happy ;) boiled, chopped egg with the mayo as spread 4 my huge cracker... gotta go, byebye!!!:bighug:
{motorcycle}
(dashing out the door, going 4 some low fat mayo)
I don't know about the mayonnaise - maybe they treat it as fat and not as protein. Anyway, I never thought about it, since I hate mayonnaise. There are only few food items I can not stand (unfortunately... :embarrassment:) and mayo is one of them.

{hi} there Cyberella & Mama
Nice to see you chatting away, hope you are having a lovely day! {grouphug1}
That Mayo and egg sounds really yummy to me!! {pot}
Mama, you don't have to have the Mayo on it's own... you could use it to make up a creamy salad dressing if that sounds good to you? Below please find a handy salad dressing recipe for you to try: (I have posted it before, but maybe you haven't seen it...) Try to make a large bottle that you can keep in the fridge for ages - it just keeps and keeps so well and you can use it as and when needed.
200 ml plain white or even apple vinegar
500 ml water
Sweetener to taste
½ teaspoon salt
Chop up nice fresh herbs – such as fennel, basil, thyme, rosemary, a bit of mint etc - you can also use dried plain herbs to bring in more variety in the flavour (remember no msg and starch additives)…
Just in case you like a creamy dressing: take 20 ml of the above and mix with your 5 ml diet mayonnaise.
You may add balsamic vinegar to the salad dressing above to make a sauce to pour over your stir-fry while cooking - the balsamic helps to make your food brown and it will taste different when you mix it with the salad dressing recipe.
Mayo falls under Condiments - you may use 5ml per day with your meal or even between your meals on a cracker if you like.
Cyberella: the following are the proteins allowed on the eating plan and normally you have to eat at least 5 of these... yogurt, cheese, egg, tofu, fish, chicken and meat... :eyebrow: Have you tried having fish or chicken?
Shasha,
I love the title you gave your post...
I am definitely going to try the salad dressing - NO MAYO...{sorry}

{hi} there Mama
Not using Mayo is 100% cool :cool: - but, I do recommend that you make the salad dressing and then use it differently for different recipe's...
Variety is the spice of life! So, one time you can use it just like that ie: on a salad. Another time you might be making a Stir-fry and then you can use this as liquid so that your veggies do not 'cook dry' - then at a given moment you can give your stir-fry an added spray of balsamic vinegar to make it look nice and brown.
On a different day, say you are making Sweet and Sour Prawns, you can use the same dressing, pour out a little, mix in some balsamic vinegar and a bit of extra sweetener - this added sweet and sour will be nice with prawns...
Yet another day you can use the dressing, add fresh Rosemary and add crushed garlic to make your chicken really yummy!
I hope that your salad dressing comes out real nice!!!
But, above all, I wish you Happy Dieting - and that you may ENJOY re-creating a NEW YOU! {cheerleader}

{hi} there Cyberella
Dr Cohen says that when you are overweight you have 'Obesity Syndrome' which is treatable, but not curable...
What this means is that during your diet program your hormones will come back into the proper balance. Your Insulin (fat storing hormone) levels will come down, your Human Growth Hormone (fat burning hormone) levels will increase and your body will produce more of the feel good hormone: Serotonin, which controls the craving for food and starch.
During the Refeeding Program, (which can only be done at goal weight), Dr Cohen will train your body to cope with all food types in a controlled manner. After the Refeeding Program you need to study and IMPLEMENT the Maintenance Guidelines in the back of your New Customer Guide so that you do not start up your "fat *******" again by constantly triggering too much insulin.
The process of learning a NEW HEALTHY LIFESTYLE must happen!
So, the answer to your ongoing success after you have completed the Refeeding Program will depend on your applying the simple rules in the Maintenance Guidelines afterwards.
Ie: as long as you continue to eat healthy foods (including everything in moderation) you should maintain your slim, healthy figure. Clearly, if you go and make chocolate, sweets or too much starch or fatty foods your stable food :noway: that is not going to happen...
-o-O-o-
Providing that apples do not trigger hunger for you, you should have at least one apple per day. Your second fruit may also be an apple or any of the fruit mentioned in your New Customer Guide.
You need to spread your crackers and fruit out during the day. This means that you should wait at least 2 1/2 hours after having 2 crackers before you eat any more crackers. We recommend having 2 between breakfast and lunch and another 2 between lunch and dinner and one with dinner.
However, how you spread your crackers - between or with your meals is entirely up to you, providing that you never have more than 2 cracker portions at the same time...
Hope this helps & {cheerleader} HAPPY DIETING!!! {grouphug1}

I am into day 3 and looking for different flavors. I saw the salad dressing recipe. When it says Fresh herbs-Fennel, basil, rosemary, is this in equal amounts? Do I combined all of them? I am not good at experimenting when I'm cooking. I am a recipe follower.

{hi} there Hugentobler
Welcome to the 1st Personal Diet Forum. :bighug:
You may use more or less equal portions of herbs or you may decide to have a bit more of the one than of the other for example if you like the taste of Rosemary you can use more of this.
We invite you to try out some of the recipe ideas posted in the forum and to tell us a bit more about yourself ie: how much are you wanting to loose? How long have you been on diet...
We're all in this together so don't be shy ... {bighug}

Thank you for the welcome! Today is day 4 of my 12 week journey. My goal is to take off 70 lbs. I made two versions of the dressing last night...one with fresh herbs and one with dry herbs. It looks like water with "stuff" floating on top. I tasted it last night and it tasted like sweet water. I let it sit over night in the refrig hoping the flavors will start to blend. I'll try it today with lunch.
Thank!

{hi} there Hugentobler
Sorry to ask, but did you add the vinegar?? This is what gives it zing...
If you find your mix came out too sweet you can add more vinegar... just a bit at a time and taste as you go along...
It takes the herbs a bit of time to infuse {violin} maybe a day or three...
Let me know how your dressing turns out :confused:
In the meantime, please keep your focus - it may be early days, BUT YOU ARE ON THE RIGHT ROAD!!!
