Hey there everyone. Glad I'm finally back to logging in. I feel really ashamed of myself so I've been avoiding even logging into the forum. Silly what we do to ourselves, isn't it? Anyway, I really need some motivation and some advice to get back on track. I was 100% perfect the first 12 weeks on this diet and I ROCKED!! I lost 36 lbs and felt great!! I went from a size 20 (that was tight) to a 14 that was loose. Then, I had my first cheat. It was mother's day and I said "what the heck". Well, needless to say it's been 4 months and I cant' seem to get back on. I'll stick to it for a day or two and I feel GREAT when I do but invitably something will happen at work and I"ll find myself diving into Cheryl's (my co-worker) chocolate basket. I had no problem ignoring it during my first 12 weeks on the diet. I'm just looking for some motivation to get back in the right mindset to do this and to get back on it 100%. I know this diet works and it works awesome! Please help me to get back on track. I really need some help.

Flwrgrlie -- GET SOME GUTS GIRL! You've lost so much weight and done so well and you give up?? Come on, now. What's that all about?? You are NOT going to let rolls of fat hang off your body just waiting to give you a heart attack. I know it's easy to say "wow, I've made so much progress, what's one little cheat (e.g. mother's day)??" but look what happens - one becomes two, two becomes THREE MONTHS! You are going to look amazingly thin and HEALTHY when you reach your goal which is closer than you think. If you haven't been on the program in 3 months just think of how QUICKLY you will drop when you go back on the program! You are SO CLOSE to being at your goal weight. A few of the women who recently started dropped 20lbs in one month. Think about it - in just one-two months you could be done with "dieting"! Clean out the house, and get back on program - you CAN DO IT.

Hi Flowergirlie!!! I have watched you make such good progress and I'm so sorry to hear you're facing this challenge. I think that sometimes a part of us is afraid of success.. Afraid to look and feel our best. It may be that you are uncomfortable with compliments and/or afraid (subconsiously or not) of the attention you might receive. I think sometimes I'm just afraid of being too happy. Sounds weird, but I have noticed that I always have to have something just a little bit wrong in my life and I think that in my mind that makes me feel like nothing WORSE can happen. Not sure if I'm making sense as I'm only 1/2 way through my coffee. Bottom line is that you CAN do it!!! I know you can because you already have. Dig down deep and get 'er done!!! We'll be there for you at the finish line!!

flowergirl,
You have made such amazing progress so far. Keep going. You know you can because you have. Dig deep, draw on your strengths. Imagine how healty and happy you will be in your future.
I would also ask your co-worker is she would consider moving the chocolate!
But remember, you trained yourself before to avoid all temptation, you can do it again. Don't give up!!!

You can do it!! You know you can. Forget about the last few months. Dont worry about that. Nothing you can do now about that. All you can do is look forward.

Hi flwrgrlie,

I honestly think the best/only way to get through this is to decide right now that there will be no more cheats. Put it back in your head that cheating is not an option. You did it for 12 weeks, and it was hard but you made it and you saw your body transform. You can do this but you have to be determined and you have to make a decision to stick to it, no excuses, no holidays, no nothing!

As Shawn has said many times, this is largely a mental battle. You make the decision and you stick to it. That simple (alright we all know its far short of simple, but you get the idea).

You are so close to making your goal a reality and you don't want to go back to where you were. So get rid of the last of it and then get balanced so you can keep it off for the rest of your wonderful, healthy, skinny life!

Sending you lots of love and courage,
SurferGirl

Ok...nothing at work is so important as to ruin the progress you've made so far!! Resist those chocolotes...turn your back to them and walk away! Even if it means leaving your desk for a couple of minutes to walk down the hall!! Nothing is more important than your health and well being! If you aren't healthy then you cannot take care of your family and you can't do your job as well, either! Hang in there and get back on plan. Make up your mind that you ARE gonna DO THIS!! It's only for a short time period compared to the rest of your HEALTHY life!!

WELCOME BACK!!!! Everyone has pretty much summed it up. MOVE FORWARD!!! Take it one day at a time. Don't think about the chocolate you had yesterday. Think about how you aren't going to have any today. It is still a mental battle for me. I know I want to lose the weight more than I want the chocolate cake. Think about how much weight you can lose in the next 2 months.
Sometimes it's hard to face our mistakes. You've made the first step by getting back on here. You can do it.

I just want to thank everyone who responded with such positive and motivational thoughts to my posting. I think the key, for me to stick to this diet, is to log in and get involved. That in and of itself is a huge motivator and daily reminder of my goal. Thank you all for helping to get me back on track and for providing me with so much motivation and reminders as to why I'm here and what I'm working towards. YOU ALL ROCK!!{grouphug1}

Hi flwrgrlie! Thank you for your posting. I have been off this month and I have decided to get back on the train at full speed. I have lost 60 so far and have 40 more to go. I was feeling a bit depressed because I was off of my program. I do not want to feel that anymore. It is nice to know that there are other people out there on the program that are just as human. I know I was feeling better when I was on program and I want to see this thing all the way through. I hope you too can jump on the train and give it another go. WE CAN DO IT!!!!

Take good care,

Mary

Just remember what you thought of your looks when you were at your biggest and know that dropping this great program will send you right back there!!!

Hey Mary and Flwrgrlie,

This program is very PSYCHOLOGICAL. When you can't have what you want, it can become very depressing. Just remember it's all in your head. Mind over matter. When I finished the diet a year ago, I planned to do it occasionally to keep the weight off, but it was HARD. Once you get a taste of freedom, you don't want to go back to Alcatraz, as Pumbza calls it. :) And I totally understand that. So imagine my dismay a year later with all my weight put back on and I have to start the diet all over again. Mentally, it was one of the biggest challenges I've ever had because I knew how hard it could be and I was not looking forward to going through those bad days again. This forum has helped me tremendously in getting motivated. When you do start your programs again (hopefully TOMORROW!), remember that the first day or two...or even week will be hard on you psychologically. It's an adjustment that will pass. I think it was the first three or four days of the diet this time before I felt 100% happy and ecstatic that I was doing this for myself--for good this time. And other than a couple days here or there, I've been very excited and motivated ever since. We will have those tough days, but that's when we need to turn to our friends here on the forum for the help and support we need. Look how wonderful everyone is! We just don't want you to disappoint yourself, so jump back on that train and let's get this done! For good this time!!! :)

I agree with Lauren. So much of this is in our minds. We have to control what is going on up there to control what our bodies are doing on the inside. I just keep imagining the prize--my thin body! You can do it!
