View Full Version : Finished My 1st 4 Weeks

Well I have officially finished my first 4 weeks on the program and have lost 22.8lbs. Truth be told, I was a bit disappointed with this number, cause I thought it would be more since I have a lot to lose and was on plan 100%, but then realized that in April I spent the same amount of time on WW (good program, not knocking it at all) and lost only 10lbs, had constant food cravings and was exercising every single day.

I did exercise about 13 days straight during these 4 weeks and noticed during that time that the numbers slowed, however I felt good. I backed off a bit on that, and the loss started again. The next 4 weeks Im going to maintain the exercise, just not on a daily basis. I have decided that this plan is working very well for me, the exercise feels good and if it slows the numbers a bit, thats okay, cause the weight is still coming off.

I have been monitering my blood glucose cause I was in the pre-diabetic range prior (106,110 readings). My morning readings have stayed in the 80 range, which is normal range, so that is a very positive thing for me (looking forward to seeing it drop to my pre-weight gain 70's range, which I know will happen).

I made it through my birthday on the 29th as well, in spite of a coworker bringing in the dreaded cake (my favorite too, carrot cake with cream cheese frosting). I just got some plates, a knife and napkins and let everyone else help themselves, which they did and before I knew it, it was gone, and the temptation was removed.

I set a goal that at 20lbs down I would treat myself to a pedicure, and I was able to go on wednesday and have that done and IT WAS FABULOUS (especially having more room in the chair and actually being able to feel the chair massager better on my back due to the fat loss from my back,yeah!!).
I going to decide today on the next goal and goal reward, any suggestions (not flowers, cause I love flowers and buy them for myself all the time)??

I will be going on Monday, Aug 4th for my new blood work and hope to hear positive news. Havent measured myself yet, but will keep you posted. ON TO THE NEXT 4 WEEKS TO SEE WHAT THAT BRINGS. Oh yeah, the scale IS going into the closet today. I never really put it away during the 4 weeks cause i wanted to see what the exercising would do with my #'s. I think I want to be surprised at the end of the next 4 weeks. HANG IN THERE EVERYONE. :)

I think that's a great deal of weight loss!! {Congrats}

It seems like you're making informed decisions which is what life is all about. Me, I chose not to exercise because I wanted to give the diet the best chance possible and I know for me staying on the program too long would be tough. I give so much credit to the "re-uppers" who go two or three cycles without cheating! So if you're comfortable with lower numbers and can accept a slower loss, then go for it! Also, keep in mind that you might be building strength and muscle weight while also burning fat which may throw the scale off. But lean muscle helps burn fat, so in the long run it all might work out for you. I sure hope it does!

For your next goal, why not do a facial/nail combo? Mud mask, deep cleansing -- whatever it is they do. I've never gone ... but it seems that it might be a great way to celebrate, would be great for your skin, and combined with the weight it might just make you glow even more!

Congrats to my favorite runaway bride!! (You've never given that whole story BTW)...

Anyway... You have made AMAZING progress my dear and I am SO HAPPY that you put 2 and 2 together and realized how big that number really is. We do get spoiled on 1PD and forget that compared to other diets, there is no comparing the amound of weight lost in minimal time.

I agree with Shawn... I think another spa appointment is a good next reward (massage, facial, something good) and/or you may actually need to treat yourself to some new/slimmer clothes by then too. Turns out for me, I actually LOVE clothes shopping. Who knew?? In the past 15 years I barely bought anything 'cause I hated the way I looked. Now I'm finding that I almost need an intervention!!

Go Rbride05 Go!!! You can do it!!

Hi rbride 05- Congratulations on your successes.
I just finished my first 4 weeks too. I too did the other diet and only lost 12 lbs and that took a lot longer than this 4 weeks. I spent so much time and money a couple years back. I'm excited that I'm finally getting my money's worth.
I weighed myself alot more than I should've this past month. I too am going to put the scale away. I want to be surprised. I didn't treat myself to anything with this 25 lbs but I think this next round I'll do a manicure. I've never gotten a manicure (at least not without the fake nails). I like the mud mask idea.
Here's to the next 4 weeks:hii:

{congrats} to you!!! That is sooo great! You should be so proud of yourself!

And good job on not having any carrot cake! {bdaycake}It is my favorite too! Yummyyyyy! I have it set in my mind that that one bite is so not worth watching your ticker move backwards!

We all know or bodies and where we want to be weight wise and how long we want it to take to get there. I know they say not to work out but me personally I am starting with my light weights. Toning!! Everything! If you feel good working out then keep it up. Just please don't get discouraged if your weight loss slows. Remember - - Muscle weighs more than fat!
Keep up the great work!!!{wave}

Thank you all for the kind words. I actually forgot I made this post, so I forgot to come back and look until today, so Im just now seeing all your postings. Im moving in on the 30lbs and looking forward to my next reward (kinda thinking about a new bike, or maybe just the manicure, or.....maybe a massage). Keep on moving on (down the scale numbers that is) everyone.

Good idea rbride. All of those 'treats" sound good. I think my husband and I are going for a massage this weekend. I'm really looking forward to it. It has been weird, little aches and pains that I want to rub out! (along with the extra weight.) My 4 weeks end will be at the end of August, seems so far away...Well done on your loss!

{hi} there Rbride05

{goodjob} on having lost 30 pounds!!! {band}

That is really EXCELLENT progress…{boing}

OOooh, there are so many nice things you can spoil yourself with, mani / pedi / facial / massage / perfume / smaller clothes / accessories – new CD / DVD – bath goodies to relax at home – even something you really want for your kitchen, if you like coffee, a fancy machine or a vegetable steamer etc… herbs in pots if you like to experiment with new flavors for your food... okay, I'm going to stop now... don't want to write a book!

Please remember not to exercise to the point of feeling tired or being hungry etc… cos that’s just too much…

I’m looking forward to seeing your continued progress!!!
