Today was my son's 13th b-day, and of course he wanted pizza and chocolate cake. I couldn't blame him at all. I made it through, even though I had to bake it, serve it, and clean it all up. :weights2:That's one of the hardest parts so far...
It is funny. My dinner was great, and my mom was here and very impressed with it all, she still ate the pizza :).
At one point today I was feeling a bit grouchy knowing it was all going to happen, then I realized, "It isn't anyone else's fault that I'm overweight, they didn't make me this way." It is a simple truth, but helped me change my attitude.
I'm thankful for the support of this forum, knowing while I was resisting temptations, that I would come to you for accountability.
PS I have started chewing gum, and I think it stimulates my appetite. I'm going to quit. I had given it up a month ago, and took it back up today to fill the gaps. Anyone else had that experience?
Blessings:praying:,

Thanks MI MI and Pumbza.
I think I will probably drop gum and crackers. I'm up a half a pound from yesterday, and that is the only thing I've done differently. I have followed perfectly. It could just be my body. So I feel yucky today. I felt so good the first few days. I think I'm going to start working out again. It always helps my mood. bless you both for the love and support!

I am the worst person to say this but do not weigh everyday. We are woman and our bodies hold water. If you weigh everyday you will just get frustrated.
I know because I do it. I lost 11 lbs in my first week and have not dropped a lbs since (3 days) but I also know my friend is due so I am sure I am just retaining water.
I can not go 4 wks with out stepping on a scale so now my mini goal is do just weigh once a week. Have someone hide your scale if you need to.

Hi Mei Mei - CONGRATULATIONS on making it through your son's birthday party even though you had to bake a chocolate cake!!! Amazing willpower and strength!! I'm very proud of you and happy for you.

I agree with Rachel - be careful of weighing yourself too much and try to not let that dictate what you are eating. If you find you are hungry you should eat your crackers and that is what they are there for. Your weight will be going down... you've just got to have faith in the diet and too much weighing can be discouraging. I'm a hypocrite 'cause I weighed myself every day while on this program, but I did at one point ask my husband to hide the scale because it wasn't moving and I knew in my head that I was getting too discouraged which in the past always led to cheats.

As for the gum, I liked it now and then too. It replaced my late night snack/dessert which worked for me. If you find it makes you hungry then yes, I'd cut it out.

{hi} there Mei Mei

{goodjob} with the cake!!! And, in getting your mind right!!! :clapping3:

Day 4 is still early days and you may still feel hungry because your hormones are coming into balance :comfort:...

There may also be other reasons like TOM – especially cos you mention being UP on the scale… I don’t believe this has nothing to do with the gum… but, leave it for now and try some next week… remember it must be sugar free and mint flavored ie: no fruit flavored gum…

Dr Cohen says: max = 5 pieces per day!!!

Sahsa,
Can you eat cinammon sugarless gum? The brand is 5. My sons got it for me. They are being so sweet. Let me know if it is ok. Thanks. I put the scal away and feel better. I just ate buffalo steak for lunch, and that helped. My body probably needed iron. Nothing like red meat!
Thanks for the support!

{hi} there Mei Mei

 You should not use fruit flavored gum for sure. Sugar free mint gum is allowed for sure.

I have asked about the cinnamon flavored gum and will let you know for sure…
