{uhm}I just wondered if anyone else has insomnia since starting the diet. I'm getting my 2nd burst of energy at night and can't fall asleep. {scream} I have been on summer vacation so I haven't had to wake up early, except to eat. Now I have to go back to work and I can't go to sleep. It might be other factors but I'm not sure. Someone told me apples give you energy so I switched those from night to afternoon. I've cut out all the caffeine too.
I love the energy I have, I just want it in the morning instead.

I'm glad you asked that question. I have the same problem. I have taken Tylenol PM but can't do that all the time... I have cut out caffeine except one diet coke at lunch...

{hi} there Ladies
Please do cut out all caffeine… :hypnotic: including that in tea and diet soda…
Are you taking a second vitamin at lunchtime?
Try to do set a peaceful environment in the evening before going to bed… a nice relaxing bath with lavender… {shower}reading a not too good book :reading:. Gentle lights that help you slow down and unwind… soft music…
All Sleep Doctors say: NO TV in the room!

I actually sleep better now that I am on this diet. But I did have alot of sleep issues before. I buy the Walmart equivalent of Simply Sleep, which is the same as the stuff in Tylenol PM that makes you sleep. The dosage is two, but I only take one. That's enough to relax me to sleep, but not make me feel drugged or sluggish the next morning. My doctor said the pills are really just Benadryl, so there's no danger of getting addicted to them and I can take them every night if needed. Plus, they are ALOT cheaper than Ambien or similar prescription sleep aids, and I find they work just as well for me.

Thanks friends. I don't want to take Tylenol PM every night either. I really like the Lavendar bath idea. That sounds very relaxing.

Hi Sleepy Ladies
I have had the same problem a bit too. I will feel tired at the end of the work day, but then after having my dinner, I will be recharged again and sometimes unable to fall asleep.
I prefer not to use the Tylenol PM and other stuff because I feel groggy all day long at work the next day. A coworker told me about something that is more "natural" called GABA. I got it at Whole Foods and it really works great. I wont go into the details (you can "google" GABA for more info on it) but its probably a lot better for you than taking the other stuff.

I have taken gaba before and for anxiety, but it does not make you sleepy. Well it did not make me sleepy at least.

Have you ever tried Melatonin? I think it is natural, doesn't make you groggy, and really works.

I use melatonin when I travel cross-country. I take it shortly before I go to sleep, and because it's 100% natural I'm not worried that it will put me into a deep slumber. It seems to put me to sleep fairly quickly but allows me to wake up as needed. I have another friend who travels a lot, and he swears by it!

yeah last night i couldn't fall asleep until 5am!!!! then today i've been kind of screwed up because i woke up at like 1pm. there's no way i can fit 3 meals into today if i have to wait 5 hours between them and can't eat after 9pm. so far my solution has been to wait as long as humanly possible to eat my 2nd meal, and really spread the crackers and fruits out. and just have 2 meals today. it's now 7:20 and i just had lunch. has anyone run into this or know a good solution?

I eat my last meal between 9 and 10 everynight because my family does not wake up till after 10 am plus I work in the evenings sometimes. It is more important that you get your three meals in so the fat burning hormone does not kick in. If I remember right I read on one of the posts it is just important to stay up 2 hours after your last meal. I usually make it to bed between 12-1 am and I still feel as though my weight loss has been great for the first month. I hope this helps.
