I am very excited about what the future holds. Today is my first day and so far its been smooth sailing.. Of course I will be eating my last meal shortly before 9pm which is probably not a good thing. Lack of planning, but hey at least I'm getting in my three meals right? Tomorrow I aim for eating all of my meals before 6:30pm. I quit eating anything with sugar/ 5th ingredient and above so I haven't had any cravings. I'm missing my Koolaid w/ Stevia though. I don't do anything with Aspartame so this will be interesting. (formaldahyde & woodgrain alcohol aren't something I want in my diet) Anyway, I've enjoyed reading all of your posts and look forward to melting away the extra lbs I've packed on in the last year. :praying:

Welcome to the forum and congrats on making such a great decision to start 1pd. BTW your avatar is gorgeous! ANyway, I too have decided that splenda and apartame are not for me. Mrs. Peel has found us an excellent alternative to diet soda. It's called Zeevia and is sweetened with Stevia. It is such a nice treat. You might look it up on the internet and find out if it's sold anywhere near you. I know Mrs. Peel has it ordered through Whole Foods. I'm fortunate that it can be found at our local New Leaf stores in NorCal. I wish you all the best. Please keep us posted on your progress.

Welcome, yesterday was my first day also and it went well. I realized all the bad habits I had that I never noticed. Oh well one day down the rest of my life to go.

I too am not a big fan of aspartame or splenda... but I figure that if it's only for the short term it can't harm me that much, right? Anyway, I made it through day one and last night I had a can of Coke Zero while my husband enjoyed ice cream! It's hardly fair!

Oh thank the lord.. lol.. I didn't realize anything was on the market sweetened with Stevia. I don't drink sodas too much but I liked the idea of using them in cooking as reflected in the recipes received. Thanks for the tip, I'm down in So. Cal so I'll look for it in our local Organic food stores. Thanks for the avitar comment.. lol. I'm looking forward to tracking my progress... So you're down 49lbs!! good job! you must be feeling great! I like your avitar too, I'm hoping once I loose some of my counter weight I'll try to get back on a board and do some surfing myself!! lol

I don't know, Its a personal choice. Since I quit aspartame cold turkey about eight years ago I've accidentally ingested it twice and both times I got such a blinding headache I couldn't function. Just the memory of those will keep me from going there... There was a suggestion of Zeevia from surfergirl which is sweetened with Stevia, I'll try to locate some of that. Over all, I want this over ASAP so I am going to stick to water as much as possible... lol.. Of course this is only my second day!

Hey Sasha!
Things are great after my first week. I have to admit that I weighed again this morning and I am now down 16.6 lbs!! I am not having any cravings or feeling shortchanged at not being able to eat like everyone else. I did miss a meal on Sat night, but ate an apple before 9pm trying to make up for it, (even though I had to choke it down).
I felt a little weak this morning, enough I sat down to feel better. Once it passed I got up, drank a glass of water and took a multi vitamin and I feel fine and have plenty of energy now.
I hadn't eaten my morning meal yet, so my blood sugar may have been low or something.
Throughout my life I've had random bouts of weakness/nausia come on suddenly. (One of my son's does too) When they occur I lay down for about five min and eat a cracker or something and it passes.. They happen only maybe once or twice a year now and have lessened as I've gotten older so its not a big deal...
I have only eaten fruit three times since starting the plan and actually forced myself to eat each of them because I really didnt' desire to eat them...(fruit we buy today has almost no taste anyway, not like growing up in the San Juaquin Valley!) ... I made it a point to include them because I figured it would be good for me. (2 apples and an apricot) ... I haven't eaten any crackers, haven't wanted them either.. So I hope that its not a problem if I don't include crackers or much fruit in my diet.... I read it was up to me, and I could take them or leave them from my plan.
Thanks for checkin in... the support is sooo appreciated!!

Good Job Calamity J!! You are making amazing progress. Yes the fruit and crackers are optional but the meals are not. I'm sure you didn't mean to miss that dinner Sat night, but PLEASE try not to do that. Do keep an eye on your energy level and how you are feeling overall. I'm very, very happy for the progress you've made so far. AWESOME!!!

Hi there Jane
{congrats} on having lost 16.6 pounds! {wave}
This diet is so worth sticking to!!!
Yes, you should certainly never skip meals – this teaches your body to store fat and {noway} do we want that! If necessary rather eat late on that one day and wait an hour before going to bed.
You may have had a little low blood pressure or even low blood sugar. Having a fruit or cracker when you feel like this usually remedies the situation quiet fast.
You can cut back on the fruit and crackers because they are optional, but you should remember that they provide a good source of fiber which helps things to move along if you know what I mean…
I’m glad to hear that you are still doing so well!! Please do keep up the {goodjob}

Shawn, Bronwyn, & Lady Rachel!
OMGosh you guys! THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH for taking the time to tell me Happy Birthday! You will all be pleased to hear that I stuck to the plan !00%!! No problems with food at all. I usually stick to fish or Chicken but yesterday I splurged with a 105g's of grilled Filet Mignon, and savored every bite! I didn't miss having a birthday cake at all! Honestly I can't think of the last time I had a piece of cake without feeling guilty anyway so it made it pretty much a mute point.
I love logging in here, checking on everyone's progress, saying Hi and reading everyone's posts.. You have all made my day, thanks again!:party3:

Hey Sasha,
Nope, I havent found the Zevia, I did find some other soda sweetened with Stevia but it was in black berry flavor so I didn't buy any. I don't miss having soda anyway but will keep my eye open just for something different. I find I enjoy the natural flavors of food. When I want to saute something, I cook with a little Balsimic vinegar a slight hint of of stevia and a bit of water for volumn and it works great. I drink a ton of water each day drinking out of a quart jar so I can track the amount of water easily.

{hi} there CalamityJ
{goodjob} on not having bought the black berry flavored cool drink – these will interfere with the program so it’s best to stick with foods that have been tried, tested and that are mentioned in your New Customer Guide…
Here’s a belated little something from me to you for your birthday :love7: and know that by this time next year you are going to look GREAT!!! {cheerleader} Keep drinking all your water...
