Hi Everyone
I am Rachel from NJ (USA). I just received my program in email today and I am starting tomorrow. I can not wait to get started I am very excited.
I look forward to getting to know all of you. I was reading my info and so far I think the hardest thing for me is going to be giving up my crystal light. I hate plain water but I see that is what I have to drink. Anyone else in the same boat?

Hey Rachel! Welcome aboard and good luck as you start this new journey!
I'm like you - I LIVED on Crystal Light! The peach tea was my favorite, although regular iced tea and pink lemonade were also my staples throughout the summer.
However, I'm finding that water with UNSQUEEZED (and as Shasha would remind us UNPLAYED WITH/UNPOKED) lemon is perfect. I never really liked plain water but I can sweeten up the water as much as I want with unsqueezed lemon slices and it works just fine!
I also have diet soda for lunch/dinner (Sprite Zero and Coke Zero). I find the carbonation actually helps fill me up, and the sweetness of the Sprite helps with the "sweet tooth" desire!
Give the water a try for a few days and let us know how you do! Water is SO IMPORTANT on this diet. If you don't drink the full amount, you won't lose the weight as easily. Also, remember that the first few days are the toughest so you need to be strong and resist temptation. If you can make it through the first few days you'll do fine! We're here if you need us!

i agree about the crystal light-
i have a very hard time understanding why diet soda is allowed OP and NOT a carb free, sugar free non carb beverage...(the sweeteners are all the same equal or splenda)
i think it is because the good dr. has done his research on sodas years ago and not on these newer drink mixes-

OMG Bitten, that's EXACTLY what I was thinking too! Then I started to wonder if maybe certain flavors triggered hunger? Who knows, but giving up the Crystal Light for a while is a small small sacrifice for health and beauty! :)

Yeah, the Crystal Light thing had me curious as well... but I noticed that he also doesn't allow fruit flavored sugar free gum. It must have something to do with the fruit flavors? And I've also wondered if alot of it is that the products just haven't been tested on the diet... it would be difficult for him to cover everything.
But anyway, welcome aboard Rachel.... keep us posted on how you are doing, the first few days can be tough, but we are all here for you!

the plot thickens....
i am glad you agree with me shawn, i honestly think that is it. because when i ask the 1st personal consultants...i get a very pat answer of basically: "BECAUSE WE SAY SO!"
fanta and sprite have fruit flavours in them as much as a gum or crystal light lemonade.
i am not saying anyone should be off plan whatsoever.....ever, ever, ever.

I am sorry I brought it up LOL. Hee Hee
I have heard on other diets that the sweetness in crystal light can trigger hunger who knows but I will miss my CL :(
On the up side I went out and did my shopping and I am already to start tomorrow. i am not a soda drinker but heck I will start drinking it if I am dying of thirst or hunger.

I am so glad you are here and good luck!! Tomorrow I will be on week two and actually doing great!! About the water. I fill up a huge jug with water and add lemon slices, do not squeeze. Wonderful and I actually get down more than required. I always use a straw and able to drink it faster that way. I am a pepsi drinker (no diet, they taste horrible) and came to the realization that the pop probably put on the majority of my weight along with having three boys in less than 5 years. {duh}I am doing ok with it and realizing how many calories a day I am saving...Well anyway, good luck and I am happy you are here.

HI Pam
Thanks for the well wishes. I have one son and I think he put on my weight lol. Although well worth it. LOL
Do you know how much weight you lost in the time you have been on the progran yet? Or are you waiting the month to weigh. I think I am going to weigh once a week. I don't think I can go a whole month. . So today is day number one and I am going to try the Zucchine Hashbrowns for breakfast.

{hi} there Rachel & Everyone
A very WARM WELCOME to you :bighug:
Regarding the water, best would be to add that slice of lemon, as Shawn recommended or if you want more lemon, take ˝ a lemon fruit from your allowance, that way you can squeeze out all the juice and LOL use the rind… :party7:
I think there may be a number of reasons that crystal light is not allowed and they will probably be that it will trigger hunger and interfere with human growth hormone production… and we don’t want that to happen! For some more sensitive Diet Buddies even the limited gum and soda (1 liter) can trigger hunger…
I also think that Diet soda also comes as pre-mixed ie: you cannot make it stronger or weaker so using more when in fact the limit is 1 liter… those are just my thoughts…
All the best with your New Healthier Lifestyle!!! {cheerleader}

I am not going to weigh myself until I am a month out. It is totally killing me but I don't want to have a bad weigh in. I am probably going to measure my inches every week or two though. I pants seem to be a little looser but I might just be imagining it. Good luck!
