I already put in an email but I wanted to know if anyone experienced this? I ate my egg/veg combo this morning. A few hours later I went to work. I started to get a little hungry so I ate my apple in the car. I then started to feel bad. Within 10-15minutes my stomach hurt extremely bad, I needed to use the restroom, I wanted to vomit, I got the shakes, I started to have the feeling electricity coming out of my fingers like when I was coming off of my antidepressents but 100% worse and I sweated so much my clothes were drenched and they said at work that I was so pale. This is my second day and hoping this does not continue. My stomach right under my chest still hurts a little but not as bad. Any ideas??
Thanks

Pam, I hope one of the moderators addresses this, but in the meantime, did you write to your consultants?? I have not heard of such a violent reaction to what is, after all, normal food. My suspicion is food poisoning - you might want to see your doctor.

Yes, I wrote my consultant about an hour ago. If it happens again I will go see my doc. My mother in law is a nurse and I called her as soon as I felt a little better.

{hi} there lfingers11
:comfort: I’m so sorry to hear you aren’t doing well… :comfort:
I agree with Mrs Peel, this is not “normal”… obviously see what your consultant says, but I do believe you should consult your personal doctor, especially if you feel like this again!
Hope you feel much better soon ...:bighug:

I've also experienced stomach pain randomly since on the diet. However, not as severe. It goes away after awhile and I've not found a trigger yet. I also have a leg cramps almost all the time. My calves will start charley horsing for no reason whether I'm in bed or even if I'm just walking around. I've been drinking all the water and following the plan so I'm just learning to live with the quirks. Hopefully your episode won't repeat.

I've also experienced some stomach pain randomly. I have no idea what triggers this but it can be quite painful but luckily it passes quickly.
I figure it's my bodys way of dealing with all the changes it's going through.
I really hope you feel better soon fingers. Your body is going through a drastic change with what you're putting into it and it and so it's making healthy changes. But definately get it checked out.
Cheeers.... :)

Peeps, I have had the leg cramps the whole time as well! I even upped my potassium intake, in case that was the problem, but it didn't make a big difference. Wonder why they are so persistent??

So do we experience pain because of the changes our body is going through? That's what I thought it was..but I'm not sure.
Does anyone know...??

i have a real interest in this post.
i have had horrid stomach issues on and off these past 3.5 months.
i have had IBS in the past, but this is a bit different.
for the first 6 weeks my MB's were all water and loose (sorry if it is TMI)
then i was blocked...
then i had cramps ( i have them now)
i also have had body aches all over for months.
i have joint pain all the time, especially in my hips, neck, elbows and shoulders.
i plan to see my GP next week as it has worsened since i have become 100% OP again..
i have had charley horses galore.
but the gut ache and joint pain have become a real issue-
does this sound familiar to anyone?

I have horrible stomach problems I have gone through the same symptoms, I had upper GI s done went to gasto doc. ALL JUST A WASTE OF MONEY. I started cutting things out of my diet. I now know that if I eat zuccini, carrots, broccolli, squash, cantalope or microwaved dinners this happens to me also. My list hasn't always been so long but with every child I've had(3 now) my list has gotten longer. I FEEL YOUR PAIN I'VE BEEN IN TEARS OVER IT MANY OF TIMES. I'm not trying to be a doctor but I have been curled over with same exact symptoms.

Well, this isn't good. I was hoping the stomach cramping and leg cramping would go away after a while but it appears it's going to be around for good since Mrs. Peel and Bitten are still having some cramping.
I've learned to live with them for now but it's not fun. I've even tried doubling my vitamin to see if it would help. So far there's no change. I'm still tired and cramping every day. Let's hope I don't get the joint pain Bitten's experiencing.
How many of us are eating lots of zucchini? I know it's my main veggie staple. It's the only similarity to carebears list that I eat daily.
Is there anyone out there that has experienced these symptoms in the past and then found a way to stop them?
It sounds like a lot of us could use some help.

This cramping issue bothers me, although I'm sure not as much as all of you suffering with it. The body shouldn't be cramping up even when on this program.
Cramps are typically caused by dehydration. So please be sure to drink extra water. Also, if you've eliminated all salt trying to avoid retaining water, perhaps you should consider letting a little bit back into your diet to see if that helps. Also, cramps are more likely to occur when there's major movement of fluids in the body as may occur during rapid weight loss, dialysis, etc.
Cramps can also be caused by low potassium (unlikely, but possible), low magnesium, and low calcium. As milk is off the diet I wonder if everyone's getting enough calcium. Is everyone taking a calcium supplement? (Also important for the prevention of osteoperosis). I read somewhere (quite some time ago) that cramps at night could be helped by getting more calcium into your diet.
I'm not a nutrionist (heck, I run a swimming pool during the summer) but I do think that if you weren't cramping before the diet and you're cramping while you're on it, it must be related to the foods. I'd ask the consultants what they think about extra water and vitamins and see if that might help.
Hoping you all feel better

Ive not had any problems so far on this program, but was a little worried and debated about eating the eggs. In the past when I have eaten eggs I would have the most severe stomach cramping, so much that I would have to lie down because it hurt. I then started trying the liquid egg or whites and they were okay, no pain. I have made the zucchini hashbrowns with regular egg and no problems so far. I not a real egg fan so Ive not been eating them daily, and alternate with the yogurt option for breakfast. Oddly, it seemed like the egg issue for me started after I did a flu shot and some other vaccinations I had to get for work. ???????

well rbride-
i am sure you know that almost all vaccines are egg-based. the are suspended in egg white, etc
i have major issues with vaccines and this is one of them.
we have a lot of egg intolerance and allergy these days.....
and babies who have real problems after being vaccinated.
so, yes rbride- i bet is was the jabs!!!

{hi} there Everyone

:comfort:
So sorry to hear that some of you’s aren’t doing so well…
Best recommendation is always to write to your consultant if you are having any problems.
If you have cramps in your legs / feet on the program Dr Cohen says to do the following:
Please ADD ON TOP OF YOUR DAILY MULTI-VITAMIN:
2 x Slow Mag (magnesium) or 2 x Calmag (calcium & magnesium) per day
Taking a supplement such as capsule form Coral Calcium with the ideal 2:1 ration of Calcium to Magnesium helps your body to absorb the calcium.
Magnesium Glycinate is the most effective and absorbable form of magnesium and it is believed that up to as much as 75% of the population is magnesium deficient.
Having IBS / Spastic colon can certainly lead to stomach cramps and in this case, if the cramps in your tummy persist on the Eating Plan please eliminate:
Cabbage; Cauliflower; Onion and please remove the skin from your Apple
Obviously this is not the only cause for cramping… constipation may be a problem, in which case you may take a fibre supplement such as Duphalac, Linseed or Psyllium Husks. If you do increase your fibre intake, please also increase your water intake at the same time.
Hope this helps…

I've been experimenting the last couple of days. I never used salt in the past and wasn't using it on the diet. I tried the recommendation by SPDeRosa and I've started putting a little on at least one meal a day and my stomach has not hurt as much.
So maybe give salt a try.

{hi} there Everyone
After reading Shawn's post I thought I would read up a bit more about salt and cramps and found the following:
Sodium is one of the primary electrolytes in the body. All four cationic electrolytes (sodium, potassium, magnesium, and calcium) are available in unrefined salt, as are other vital minerals needed for optimal bodily function. Too much or too little salt in the diet can lead to muscle cramps, dizziness…
So, perhaps try adding some sea salt to your food after cooking… remember like always: moderation and also listening to what your body tells you...
{goodjob} to Shawn & Peeps!!

Thanks for all the woderful comments/ideas. I have not felt like that since the 2nd day thank goodness. I do feel tired so I will add the vitamin which will be 4 mg. I already checked. This is my busy time though. I am a full-time mom, work evenings at a kids resale shop (when daddy is home) and sell kids clothes on ebay. It seems all I do is play and work. I love it though.:party1:
Even though I feel tired I am not taking an afternoon nap most of the time anymore. Hmmm....wondering if it is the awesome food I am eating.:party1:
