Hi everyone!
Thought I would send a quick hello out to everyone and introduce myself. I have always been a little on the heavy side but never really minded - I was happy with the way I looked and wasnt getting any complaints. However, gained 30 pounds when i quit smoking and that has totally changed the way I view myself. So I said enough and here I am. PLus not to mention my sister is getting married in October and the dresses are not very flattering!!!!
My start date was June30/08. So far I followed the diet 100% but its been a rather diffucult 10 days.
Why.... first I am a terrible cook! I only found out yesterday that I could cook chicken in the oven. Have been BBQ it for the past 5 days or using the George Forman grill. Nothing like burnt chicken :) I have no idea what herbs are for , whether they will make them bitter, sweet or what!
Secondly, I am a very picky eater. I havent had seafood for over 18 years (since I was 10) so fish is out of the question and never have been a really big red meat fun. But I am slowly learning to like meat as there isnt much choice, unless I want to eat chicken for the next 11 weeks.
But I am going to stick with it & see what happens.
Best of luck to everyone out there :)

Hi Mommak,
I'm Sharon:party1:, I've battled with weight for all of my adult life due to hormonal imbalance, Ive been on this program for 7 days and it is the easiest 3 kg I have ever lost, I've got everything crossed that it isn't a dream. there are some wonderful meal ideas in this forum and well worth the look though, and also you can miss a pot hole or two along the way. I have found its worth the effort and I wish you all the best.

Rosemary and chicken are always a winner… there is so much you can do… chicken and mushrooms, chicken stir-fry, chicken marinated in cola, ground curry chicken and cabbage, chicken soup, chicken with garlic, chili chicken… etc, etc, etc… how about going to the recipe thread and looking in the CHICKEN IDEA’s… I’m sure you can find a few recipes that you will enjoy...

Mommak- Welcome to the Cohen gang. Hang in there. It gets easier. One of my favorite things to eat right now is Kabobs on the grill. I marinade my meat or chicken in some balsamic vinegar, garlic, and salt and pepper. Then I put the meat on the stick with tomatoes, onions, zucchini. Spray with Pam Oil spray and grill..It's really easy. I wasn't very good with herbs when I started, but I would try different herbs with my different meals. I found that I love dill in my scrambled eggs. Just play around. Good Luck to you.

On the main Forum page, second topic from the top is "1st Personal Diet Tickers" - click on that and it will take you to the window where you can design your ticker and select a PIN for it. Once you've made your choices and saved them, you will be given the option of copying a link in HTML or BB code. Copy the BB code and then go to your Control Panel page. Select "Edit Signature" at the top left, and when the window appears, paste the BB code for your ticker into the box. Preview your signature to see that it works. From then on, when you update your ticker on the original link, the changes will automatically show up in your posts.
Easy!
:cop: AmyLynn - please do tell me those aren't cherry / grape / baby tomatoes... The recipe sounds really yummy!!! :hungry:

To all of you out there trying to cook without oils on the Cohen! I highly recommend the George Foreman Grill guys! It took me 3 months to figure this out and meanwhile I burned the bottoms of multiple pots! I bought a smalll Foreman and cooking time was cut in half and clean up time to less then 5 minutes. And it takes absolutely zero cooking spray, just throw the meat on there with nothing except herbs! Good luck to all of you!

Hi. I just wanted to say hi and welcome. All I add to my chicken or beef is garlic powder and I think it is yummy. Boring but I am not much of a cook either. Good luck!!
