Hello everyone!
I just started the 1pd. Today is my 4th day. I was a little hungry last night. Got over it, though. I have a question: I quit drinking coffee in the mornings since I can't have cream with it. The last two days I get a headache in the mornings. I then drink a diet coke and it goes away. Do you think its the caffeine? My daughter is getting married in 5 weeks. Lots of showers, parties, dinners, etc. I plan to stay strong... Hope I hang in there....:
Thanks,
Sharon

Sharon, it's most likely due to the caffeine withdrawal. I can tell you that I NEVER in my life tolerated coffee without cream in it, but once I started 1PD, the prospect of life without coffee was too bleak, so I learned to love it black. It does take a while, but I am completely accustomed to it now (in my 3rd 12-week session).
If you choose to stay away, the withdrawal symptoms usually improve within a week or less.

Thank you so much. I just have do without for now can't do it without the vanilla creamer... This morning I just went straight to a yogurt and peach shake followed by bottled water. Feeling good so far. No headaches...I know we aren't supposed to weigh but once a month but since its only my 4th day I have to check each morning. I'll try and stay away now till I have completed 7 days. Then I'll put it away until I complete the month.... My daughter's bridal shower is tomorrow with lots of goodies... YIKES!!!:weights2:

Dear Sharon, you must put the scale away! Trust those of us who have been on the plan for a while: it will only discourage you! The 1PD works beautifully and you will lose the weight, but it won't always show up on the scale as you might expect. For example, I have slowed to an average rate of loss of 2 pounds per week, but I am dropping clothing sizes dramatically! Constant weighing also only serves to remind you that you are dieting - if you just follow the plan and live your life, it will seem so much less difficult. Focus on the slender you in the future, not the dieting you right now. :)

Thank you, Mrs. Peel. I'll put the scale away. It's a hard temptation at first. How long do you think it will take me to notice the difference in my clothes?
I have 22 lbs (which i know is not a whole lot) But, it takes a while to lose just the same... I'd like to lose the weight for the wedding and then start to eat more healthy. I do exercise as well but it hasn't got the weight off....

Hey, Sharon!
Well, I would think you would notice changes fairly quickly - I had 101 lbs. to lose when I started, and though the initial losses were rapid and substantial, I didn't really look much different until I had dropped the first 35 or so. Now that I'm down to 22 left to lose (like you!), I feel like I look different every day, even though the weight loss has slowed down.
Yay! Hide that scale! GOOD GIRL!!!

Shart I am only 5 days on this DIET and on day 2 I cheated not on FOOD but by checking my weight after having said I will only look at my weight at 4 weeks and 8 weeks and 12 weeks and I started wanting to know my weight! This is disasterous because on other DIETS I drove myself crazy with the scale because some days I lost and some days I did not and this finally broke my resolve amongst other things! So I am NOT LOOKING at MY scale till week 4 I hope!I thought this might help have a Cool Day!!!:innocent3:

Thanks, Pumbza. Sorry I hadn't been on the computer in a couple of days. Okay, I will put the scale away. I'll go by my clothes... Today will be day 6. You and I are neck and neck on our days. How are you feeling? I do pretty well until after dinner then I want to eat the house and everything in it. I haven't yet. I just drink water. I feel fine. I was afraid I'd get dizzy or weak but if I made it 6 days then I guess I'll be fine...I am so glad they have this forum.
Thanks again to all of you,
Shart

Mornin' Shart! Welcome to the forum and I'm so glad to see you're off to such a great start! I agree w/Mrs. Peel. With "only" 22 pounds to lose (I put "only" in quotes because I know that is still a lot of weight for you) I think you will see differences very quickly. 5 pounds lost off a smaller frame is so much more noticeable than 5 pounds lost off a heavy one. When I weighed my most (near 170) I could lose 10 pounds and people would barely notice. Now, as I'm losing one here and there I get daily comments about how skinny I'm getting. Enjoy the ride... It's a good one!

{hi} there Shart & Buddies
A very WARM WELCOME to you!!! :bighug:
 If you are still feeling hungry, please avoid the yogurt and cheese options for a few days and take a second multi-vitamin each day at lunchtime, this should really help – even with those evening ‘fat burning feelings’…
Happy slimming everyone!! {cheerleader}

Hi`
After posting for my first time a few day's ago I have put the scale in off limits mode for me. I hope that it will help. I am 4 weeks in and lost 20 lbs. I went and boug a few new things yesterday to help get me by until my next big drop in size. Keep up the great work it will pay off. :party1:
