Hello,
Does anyone know of a calculator that can be used to figure out what types of crackers are allowed on the diet? I see that the recommended ingredients are (per 100 g): Energy 1720 kJ/411.05 k/cal, Protein 12.80g, Carbohydrates 71.50g. Total Fat 7.90g.

Does anyone know how to calculate energy??? I am getting sick of saltines and Kame Rice crackers!!

Also, does anyone know if we can have the Ryvita Light Rye crisps? I have looked everywhere for the Original kind, but am unable to find them in the US.

Anyone have any suggestions??
Thanks!

Regular supermarkets carry Ry-Krisp Naturals, which are approved for the diet. MrPeel and I laternate between those and Premium Saltines.

Try sprinkling your saltines with stevia and cinnamon to make faux cookies! They are great with tea or coffee.

{hi} there Jennab

Thank you Mrs Peel :flirt:

Jennab, we’ve got a thread in the RECIPE section called Cracker Options – please read this for more useful info…

Your should try to find crackers with similar ingredients to those mentioned, the energy is normally stated on the packet / box of crackers. (Only plain crackers ie: no flavored crackers are allowed so, no seeds, no cheese, onion etc.)

Please remember that Dr Cohen calculates your crackers using grams ie: 1 cracker portion in your allowance is equal to 5.85 gram so you may never have more than 11.7 grams ie: 2 x cracker portions as per the rule in your New Customer Guide...
