Hi All!
I'm very exited to be part of the Cohen gang! I started my diet on friday and it's going great! I do long for all the wrong foods, but have kept myself reigned in sofar :weights2:! I'm looking forward to the results I see in all your posts :praying:.....
Is it just me or do most people weigh themselves more than once a month?
Thanks!

Hi Amber,
If you stick to it 100%, it will work and you will be a loser just like all of us ;-)
As for the weigh in schedule, there are really good reasons to only weigh in once a month. That is the choice that I have made.
I find it way less distracting. It is so much easier to stick to the plan when you don't have the little devils in your ear saying "I only lost one lbs last week, what's the point?" OR "I lost 5lbs last week surely one cookie won't make that big of a difference"
Plus focusing on your health, how you feel:dance:, and how your clothes fit:cloud9: is a far more telling way to measure your progress. I highly reccomend weighing only once every four weeks but no one's going to tackle you everytime you head towards the scale:cop: so the choice is yours.
I'm really proud of you for making it through the first few days. This is absolutely the hardest time. It will get much easier! Keep it up!{cheerleader}
Welcome!

Hey there, Amber! Welcome to the best diet on the planet! Seriously, follow the rules and the fat will MELT off. I'm looking forward to seeing you shrink before our eyes...
Yes, the new customer guide says to only weigh once per month, but you'll find a lot of people weigh more often...I figure as long as you're 100% OP (on plan) and resilient to the little ups and stay-the-sames there's no harm to weighing more often. Conversely, if you're 100% OP there's not reason TO weigh more than once/mo because you simply HAVE TO LOSE on this diet. It's impossible NOT to lose fat if you keep at it!
Congrats on making the best decision of your life!

Hey Amber and welcome!! Yes - you should only weigh once a month and they have good reason to recommend that as they don't want you getting frustrated on the days/weeks where the scale doesn't move. Remember that during those plateu times your body is still breaking down the fat and it's just readjusting and your weight will go down again. I weighed myself nearly every day and was fine with it, but I know some people would get very frustrated. I did get frustrated one week where my weight had not moved so I made my husband hide the scale for a week and when he gave it back my plateau had ended. I recommend the once a month but if you're a scale addict like me just be sure that you don't let it get you down. If you find that is happening, ask someone to hide it with an agreed upon date of return to check in. Good luck to you! I'll look forward to watching your progress!

{hi} there Amber
A very WARM WELCOME TO YOU! :bighug:
{goodjob} so far ~ we all really look forward to seeing your PROGRESS too!!!
Dr Cohen – the man with the plan – advises to weigh ONCE IN 4 WEEKS…
With that said, some of our Diet Buddies do weigh more often, some daily (I hope with all my heart nobody is weighing more than once a day!!!) (If there is someone like that please PM me so I can definitely tell you in no uncertain terms to STOP THAT!)
The thing that I never ever want you to lose sight of is what Bronwyn said: ALL THE TIME THAT YOU ARE FOLLOWING YOUR EATING PLAN, YOUR BODY IS BURNING FAT! No matter what that scale says…
Best advise: know yourself and do what is right for you! If you get tempted to deviate cos you are doing so well, or if you feel discouraged in anyway, pack that scale away…
Wishing you successful slimming {cheerleader}

Hi All,
Thanks for the advise and wonderfull words of encouragement! I think I'm going to stick to weighing only once a month - I don't trust myself just yet! :innocent4:
I had a little 'hickup' this week..... It involved a 'spring-loaded' door with an sharp edge and my foot. To make a long story short - I can't stand blood (my own) and needed sugar (the infirmary supplied me with orange juice) to keep me from passing out.... (I know it is all in my head :hypnotic:) I was very dissappointed about cheating this way, but I didn't have a choice...
I'm glad to say that I'm back on track now and more motivated than ever! Thank you all!

{hi} there Amber
{oops} {sorry} to hear about your foot :comfort: I hope you are feeling much better!
My little magic says we can definitely forgive the OJ given the circumstances of shock and pain and blood and all…
So please don’t let the OJ hold you back in any way or make you feel disappointed in yourself! Forget about it – as in totally FORGET about it! Just keep on following your eating plan 100% and I really do believe you will be fine.
PS: For the rest of you Diet Buddies who are reading this and who may be getting funny thoughts:
NO YOU CAN NOT GO AND SLAM YOUR FOOT INTO THE DOOR ON PURPOSE
AND THEN GO & EAT CHOCOLATE!!!
My magic does N.O.T. cover chocolate!!!

Hi Sasha,
Thanks! You made my day - I had a really good laugh about others doing this on purpose! :rolling2: Believe me, hopping around on one foot is not worth the chocolate cake!
Ecxept for the slip with the OJ, I'm on track - thus I believe your magic will work!
Have a great day!

Sasha,
Thanks for the kind words. But I feel I don't deserve them..... that pms you talked about - well, lets just say that I had 2 bad days.... and I need a kick in the ***
I wanted to confess , because I'm starting again today :weights2: and want to have a clean slate. Wish me good luck!

Hi there Amber
You don’t need a kick in the **** half as much as you need a ZIP in the LIP… :flirt:
Forgive, but now you can see clearly where the problem lies and it’s not so much down below there where you want the kick as it is right up here – close to the eye zone, somewhere between your nose and your chin… the problem is: that little hole where the food went in…
I am really sorry to hear about the PMS and your feeling the need to start again – but sorry, nope, NO CAN DO, you cannot start again!
It’s official: {sorry} but that’s not allowed any more… NOBODY CAN START OVER AGAIN…
WHY??: We’ve discovered that the 'I'm starting again' sentence doesn’t work for quiet a few of our DIET BUDDIES… Simply because if you are not careful, ‘starting again’ can become the daily slogan or worse an excuse that you tell yourself day after day after day after day and, if you never actually start, you will in fact get to no where very FAST.
I don’t want that to happen to anyone – lest of all to you, Amber - you've had enough trouble with your sore foot!
So, the key is ACTION not thinking about it, but JUST DOING IT... you cannot go back in time, but you can control your today and your tomorrow in that you can ZIP your LIP and say a loud NO to non diet foods.
What you can do is shake the mud off your boots, clean out the house and do better in the coming days and weeks so that you don’t waste time but rather that you focus on looking fine and on doing a {goodjob} so that you can become slim and healthy and well again!
I’m sorry to inform you that you cannot get a clean slate either – you have to go and make a clean slate and by this I mean, when you deviate, even if you are sorry, your hormones do not come into balance by themselves, you need to bring them into balance with some of that hard work you were doing at the bottom of your post. Every day that you stay on diet, you will be erasing past mistakes - burning fat little by little... when you look again, it's gone!!!
It takes about a week and your hormones will be back to MEGA FAT BURNING MODE… this week is like starting your first few days on diet again, it's hard, but, even this is much better than the alternative of quitting and getting fat and unhappy and besides, just like so many of our Diet Buddies, you can do it! So, please focus, be strong in the sight of any and all temptations… Please keep on telling Amber: you can do it and know that we are here to help you to focus and be strong...
