I had my 12 week weigh in on Friday and i was down another 8lbs. I really thought it would be more than that, but am trying to believe that even though the numbers are slowing I'm still losing inches - as i CAN feel the difference in my clothes.
That brings my 12 week total to 40lbs, and leads me to signing up once again for another 12 weeks as I'm still a ways away from my goal.
I think I need to change up my meals. I've had the cheese for lunch everyday for the last 12 weeks as it's my favorite meal, and after reading many of the posts on here realize it may be leading me to retain water. I'm also going to up my water - and while I was going to start exercising, have decided to hold off on that as well.
I'm really enjoying using the grill this time of year and can't get enough grilled veggies and meats (especially buffalo - it's so good).

{hi} there Makena
{congrats} on having lost an incredible 40 pounds in only 12 weeks!
WOW!!! What a life change! :clapping3: No wonder your clothes are sitting loser!
YOU GO GIRL!!! I'm really proud of you!!{cheerleader}
I do recommend that you try to cut back on the cheese... try to limit it to 2 or maybe 3 times per week if you find it was your favorite daily meal, just so you don't feel deprived and let's see what happens on the scale... Always remember you should never compare your progress with that of anyone else - rather look back at your own life: when last did you manage to actually lose 40 pounds in 12 weeks? This will put your wonderful progress in the proper perspective and show you just how GREAT you have done!
Grilling foods is wonderful and it's great to hear how you are enjoying your healthy sliming diet foods...
There are quiet a few good reasons why not to start exercising too much while being on the 1st Personal Diet Program... amongst some reasons are that it can trigger hunger, lower blood pressure too much etc leaving you feeling tired. Best would be to focus on one project at a time and to master that perfectly...
So, here's to the next 12 weeks and your keeping up the GOOD WORK!

Hi,
Great going on your loss. I'm new here and have a question? You say you are going to have to sign up again ! does that mean you have to pay more money, or do they just do your diet over according to your weight loss, until you get to your goal and they do the re -feed part of the program?:eyebrow:

hi angel eyes...
congrats on your weight loss.
every 12 weeks you pay a fee to be on cohens plan, get the internet support, access to this site and blood test analysis.
i am sure shasha will let you know for sure, but i believe that all the fees were made clear when i signed up. $249 for the initial and $179 for each additional 12 week period.
what were you told?

Thanks Sasha! I am so proud of my accomplishments, it just feels that now with summer here there is food around all the time - and most of the time I'm fine, but sometimes I just start craving things that aren't on my plan. I'll just try to keep pushing through. I'm doing another blood test this week so we'll see if that makes any changes to my current plan...
And I'll give cutting back on the cheese a good try. I'll just have to find some other convenient lunch options to take to work.
Alright - off to the kitchen to come up with something for dinner...

Thanks bitten,
tomorrow will be my 4th week and as of today I've lost 23 lbs. I must of missed something I don't remember 179.00 each additional week period , good to know though, I can't stop now. LOL Looks Like you are doing well also keep it up, because I know how hard it is, even though it is getting easier not to eat . but everyone in my family are still eating all those good fatting things. lol But so far I haven't cheated, even no taste testing cooking dinner at night for my husband. !! Or making deserts for him.

Hi Makena!
Super weight loss, you must be so proud.
I don't even try and eat cheese on this diet. I love it sooo much that I know it would lead to trouble.
Don't be afraid to switch up and change your meals. You may find something easy to take to work... a hard boiled egg, maybe? My hubby suggested I make deviled egg using my tiny mayo allowance - I'm going to try that. You could always take celery to go along with it. Although I don't like the taste of celery much, the crunch can be satisfying.
Just keep going, girl!

{hi} there Makena
There are plenty of YUMMY idea's for you to chose from in the recipe section... I'm not going to talk about that... what I do want to talk to you about is:
but sometimes I just start craving things that aren't on my plan. I'll just try to keep pushing through...
There can be many various reason for cravings ranging from being tired or to TOM to not following your eating plan 100%, medications, but what I want to ask is are you getting enough vitamins and minerals?
The vitamin and mineral supplement plays a very important part in your program. You need to ensure that you are getting enough calcium, magnesium etc. Chromium is a very useful supplement and I strongly recommend that you get some because chromium helps with cravings as it helps to stabilize blood sugar.
I recommend you take a second multi-vitamin each day for the following week at lunchtime and see how you do. Do the cravings go away? Well then please keep taking that second vitamin if they do!
Then, there's the thinking bit... if the cravings are in your mind, I recommend getting busy with anything and everything other than food... hobbies, art, music, reading, walking, talking to a friend, visiting a bookshop - anything you enjoy that will absorb your attention.
Get some ammunition ready in your head - thoughts that you purposely think whenever you get tempted by food. This can be like your looking at the food and saying to yourself: WOW, if I eat that today, I'll be wearing it tomorrow... and the next day and the next day!
Or you can remind yourself that NOTHING TASTES AS GOOD AS BEING THIN FEELS! You can enjoy bla bla bla for 5 minutes, but that smaller denim feels great ALL DAY LONG!!!
You will be surprised at how affirming self talk can help you - words such as telling yourself: NOW IS MY TIME TO BECOME HEALTHY AND WELL AGAIN! I do not want to mess this up... can really help you to focus.
Hope these little tips help you! Here's to the next 12 months and YOUR LOOKING ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS!!! {cheerleader} KEEP ON PUSHING THROUGH, YOU CAN DO IT!!! {goodjob}

{hi} there Angel_Eyes1984
Referring to your words:
...but everyone in my family are still eating all those good fatting things. lol
I would like to share a little secret with you: as your body becomes use to eating slimming healthier and leaner foods, you will find that your taste for food actually changes and that if you were to deviate and eat wrong food, that those foods were 1) a big disappointment, because they didn't taste as good as you had fantasized they would and 2) they actually make you feel sick...
So, get your mind right it's not those GOOD FATTY FOODS - you must be thinking it's THOSE GROSS FATTY FOODS!
About the costs of the 1st Personal Diet Program:
In the Terms & Conditions that you were asked to accept on the Registration Page prior to registering it says:
The program I purchase includes 12 weeks of support – starting the day I receive the program and no later. At the end of the 12 weeks, I can purchase another 12 weeks program.
About the costs it says:
The costs of the program vary from one country to the other. After registration, you will receive an email with the details of the costs for your area.
The costs of your blood tests are to be paid directly to the lab.
YES, Bitten is 100% correct, in the US, the 1st Personal Diet Program costs $249 for the initial program and $179 for each additional 12 week period, depending on how long you need to be on diet to lose your excess fat.
Remember, some Diet Buddies only have 10 pounds to lose; others may have 100 pounds or more to lose.
The 1st Personal Diet is a 12 weeks and not unlimited timeframe in order to allow more people access to this program by making it affordable. This way, people who do not need more than 12 weeks, can get it cheaper and people who do need more than 12 weeks can pay it off over time...
HAPPY SLIMMING EVERYONE!!! {boing}

thanks-

Thanks again Shasha - I haven't been doing perfect on my vitamins so I'll try that and up it during lunch to see if that helps. I've looked through all the recipes - and will look again to find some that will work for me. I definitely love Cheri's deviled egg idea and will give that a try this week.
Thanks Cheri for the ideas - my husband and I are going through so much celery right now it's not even funny. I slice it into sticks and keep it in a water filled container in the fridge, this makes it cold and delicious and really emphasizes the crunch.
Thanks for all the support - I'm going to hit the kitchen now and start planning some new lunches.

Hi Makena,
Congrats on losing 40 pounds in 12 weeks!!! WOW!!! Those are excellent results and even though we all wanted to finish in our first twelve weeks, you can't deny that this is working. Good for you for continuing on and I'll look forward to watching you complete your joureny in the weeks to come.
You're doing such a great job! Dropping the cheese option every day will definitely help. Keep it up!

Hi Angel Eyes!
Yes - if you do not get to your target weight by the end of your first 12 weeks you must "re-up" for another twelve for $179.00. I was only 8 pounds from my target weight and asked if I could just keep going and then ask for my refeed at the end, but the consultants reminded me that 8 pounds could easily equal 4 or 5 more weeks on the program before hitting goal and that I would need the continued support, etc. during that time. I did re-up and as it happens I have just hit my goal weight after being 6 1/2 weeks into my second 1PD session so it was well worth the extra money.
Sounds like you're going strong! I agree that you need to think of those "good fatty foods" as foods you are allergic too. Also, I would encourage you to try to get your family into some healthier options as well. A treat now and then is one thing, but if they have bad eating habits they too can benefit from your healthier lifestyle. My husband has lost about 30 pounds while I've been on this program. He looks and feels great and is eager to maintain this new lifestyle when I am "done" with this diet.

i need some help, my DH told me yesterday that he wants to try cohens for a week or 2 to see if he can do it, before spending the money etc. do i just have him try my gram amounts for a week or do men get a lot more food (i suspect they do) he is 6'3" and his shoe size is a 13US. he weighs 256.6 as of this am.i want to support him in this. i was shocked and pleased when he brought it up yesterday. i know he will do well and stick to it and then sign up, but i need to make sure he gets enough food and does not throw in the towel...
any ideas?

Bitten, his plan will be VERY different!!! MrPeel waited until I had been on the diet for a few weeks before he signed up, but he just wanted to see that it worked. He gets more protein than I do, and different food combinations, too. I strongly urge your DH to sign up and do it right - if he does your diet plan and it doesn't work, he will be very frustrated. Tell him my MrPeel has no trouble sticking to the plan and is less than 10 lbs. from goal now! He is thinner than he has been since his 20's, and he looks fabulous in his clothing. He feels great - he can do more physical things easier than in years.

hi mrs. peel-
thanks so much for the info. i'll tell my husband.
sadly, he will not just sign up for anything...he wants to try it out first.
there is no way he will not lose weight on my plan, as it is so few cals compared to what he is doing now, etc.
i am so pleased for mr. peel...what a wonderful job he has done.
mr. bitten is watching me to see if it is working and doable for him.
he is afraid that it will be too little food and not enough spice and heat for him...
we'll see, he's going to eat bigger amounts of my food for a few weeks.
i cannot force him or he will not do anything.
i will copy your post to him-

{hi} there Bitten
Blood tests are required by Dr Cohen on 4, 12, 16 weeks and every 8 weeks following this, but depending on how long a person needs to remain on diet to lose their excess weight. If someone is only on diet for 6 weeks, they will obviously not go for a 12 week blood test etc.
So, if the person needs to be on diet for 20 weeks, he or she will need to do blood tests at 4 and 12 weeks and another one at 16 weeks.
Dr Cohen uses all these blood tests to monitor the person's progress, to give the person feedback and then to calculate an accurate Re-feeding Program when the person is 5 pounds prior away from actually doing the Re-feeding Program.
A person could not do a 4 week blood test and remain on diet for 20 weeks doing it on their own, and then request a Re-feeding Program based on the 4 week blood test results after their 12 week program has expired.
The 4 week blood test results would be too 'old' to use for an accurate Re-feeding Program and the person would need to under go a further blood test which Dr Cohen would need to analyze. This is why the Re-feeding Program is only applicable if you reach your goal weight within the 12 week period.
If you need more than one 12 week period, you simply renew your program and you will continue to receive support, feedback on your blood test results etc. doing this until you reach your goal weight...

Hi Bitten,
That is the advice I would've given to you (now I'm a little late), but have him eat your food, but bigger portions. My husband has lost about 30 pounds just from me being on the plan and from doing just that. He still drinks a little wine and will make potatoes, or eat a sandwhich when he wants, but weight has fallen off 'cause we're not ordering in, eating out, and/or cooking anything naughty. I think he'll see a difference just from the foods themselves, and then imagine if he has a plan specific to his blood test results! It'd fall off even more quickly. Good luck with this! It sure makes a difference when you do something together.

Bitten -
My husband waited until I had been doing it for a month or so and then decided he was ready to jump on board. After his last business trip he signed up and is doing great! He loves the food and looks forward to every meal. He hasn't really been hungry, and started at about your husbands weight. He hasn't weighed yet, but I have a feeling he is dropping pounds like crazy - and he probably will only need 1- 12 week cycle. Good luck to you and Mr. Bitten!
