Hi everyone!
I officially started my program on 04/25/08, but unoffically started on the 21st when I got the plan. I had been lurking around the forums and had purchased the foods in advance because I was so excited to get started.

I've been a serial dieter for a very long time, and I had gotten my body and mind to the point where I had no idea what a balanced diet even was. Then my brother told me about his neighbor who lost 183 pounds in 8 months. He said he didn't even recognize her when he saw her! I thought, Oh Lord I hope it's not another fad diet, but then he told me it was doctor supervised and based on her blood tests and I asked him to ask her if I could call her. That was so nice of her! And I did call and she did tell me about it. She said the weight melted off of her! She was so enthusiastic and helpful that I decided I am going to try one more diet, just one more. I did read the website and I did look at before and afters and then I signed up! This Friday will be my official 3rd week. I am a scale avoider so it was nice to know I didn't have to weigh everyday or even every week, and it's been tempting but I haven't. I can tell you this in the 4 days between the time I got my diet and the I officially started I lost 4 pounds! Jeans that I couldn't even button now fit me comfortably and are even loose in some places, well some weird places like my butt, but anyway the point is I am feeling smaller. I did take the liberty of measuring my waist yesterday and I had lost 3 inches.

I am a little scared of my monthly weigh in because it comes at the same time as my TOM. So it was good for when I started because I had no food cravings at all, but I know I retain fluid like crazy and my stomach gets bloated, but that's my only fear right now. So far I am feeling really, incredibly good. Better than I have in years. So I know I have made the right choice, because mentally this diet is so freeing and I am no longer tired or listless.

Sorry that was so long. I do tend to drone on! I am reading and slowly getting know who is posting. I posted a recipe for tilapia my new favorite food. And I want to Thank everyone for sharing their stories and recipes!

I wish everyone the best on this journey back to health!

Oh it's so nice to see you again today! Thanks for the warm welcome! Yeah, next Friday I will weigh. I am getting nervous already, but that's getting ahead of myself isn't it? I would be absolutely thrilled with a 20-25 pound loss, but I have messed up my body over the years so who knows what it will do?

And yes 183 pounds, of that I believe she lost 80 in the first 3 months. Stellar really. She told me she had never been a big dieter and that this was the first one she ever really worked at. So she didn't have the yo-yo thing happening her body responded so well! Good for her!

You keep up the good work too!

Have a great day!

{hi} there Katra

A very WARM WELCOME to you :bighug:

I'm so glad that you've come to join us {cheerleader} THANK YOU for sharing your recipe's and how you started the program with us!!! WOOW, losing 183 pounds in 8 months is phenomenal and I'm quiet speechless! Please tell her we say a huge big WELL DONE!!!

Just a tip about the weigh-in and TOM... if you are feeling bloated, rather wait until Day 4 of your cycle when the water retention is gone and then weigh-in on that day, even if it is 4 weeks and a few days, that will still be okay...

I wish you much slimming success and look forward to seeing your progress :flirt:

Thank you for the warm welcome, my TOM and PMS, the week right before are both quite bloaty and I am never quit sure when I will get it usually every 24-28 days, so when the time comes I will see where I am with weigh in. It's SO VERY nice to know that I can wait until 4 days after it starts though!

You made my day!

Thanks for the big welcome!

Hi LesKiya!

Thank you for the warm welcome. I had oral surgery yesterday and was not able to read or post as I spend most of the day simply resting! I am going to get started reading the board again today, if I am not too loopy from the pain killers...LOL

I hope you like the recipe Bronwyn and I see you are doing so well on your program contratulations! I hope to read your personal journey today. I love reading how well people have done, it is so inspiring! Thanks for sharing your story!

{hi} there Katra

Ouch! Oral surgery sounds sore! :comfort:

I recommend that you do try to make your foods soft like soup or yogurt so that you don't hurt the inside of your mouth, you can even cook your apple and blend it fine.

Hope you have a speedy recovery {friendhug}

Thanks Sasha,

It doesn't hurt too much today, but I am having soft foods and notified my consultant well in advance so I would be prepared, but it's not nearly that bad and I have been chewing on the other side of my mouth for so long I am in good practice. I made a mess of an apple when I tried to blend it, I am terrible at making new things first time around, except fish which I have had a fine time with! Luckily!

Thanks for you wish of my speedy recovery. I hope it moves along well too!

I hope you are doing well today! And Thanks for taking the time to comment!
