Way to go Gitta! You're off to a great start! Keep it up and keep us posted. Sorry, I also do not speak German, but your English is very easy to follow and is good. If you don't understand something on the boards, just ask... You've seen Cyberella's posts? Sometimes she questions our phrases or meanings too... We'd love to be here for you to offer support.

I second Bronwyn, Gitta... great job so far and don't let the language barrier keep you from posting... we love to hear from everyone!!! There's a little tool that I use when I have trouble conversing with my foreign associates at work. It is called Babel Fish and it is available through altavisa. We are not allowed to post links here, but if you can understand what I am trying to say, you can find it at (babelfish dot altavista dot com). :) Sometimes the translations can be quite funny, but most of the time, it works great. I had to train some co-workers in Italy last year and I did not speak any Italian. We used this tool to communicate and it worked great!!! Give it a try when you need to understand something a little better. Hope that helps and welcome to the club!!!!!

Tag, Gitta!

I used to speak some German, but now it is mostly forgotten - I can count up to 10, though!

Your English is good enough - we will understand you - and we're glad you're here.

Thank you very, very much to all of you for your warm welcome here! I do not answer everyone individually, which would take too much time up for translation.

GettinSkinny - Thanks for your good tip with the side for the translations. I found it and it goes many more simply and faster :clapping3:

I looked forward very much about the letters to my Thread but please could you give me your correct names and not only your nickname?? ;)

I should have looked already in former times here purely, because the last two weeks were not so madly... :aint: and your support would have done to me surely well... I am rather frustrated because I had some misses at the last time. The complicated translation held me to look repeatedly here at the community. But now I have a good translation programm and it would be easier for me.

Many sunny greetings from Germany

Hi bitten,

my last two weeks are very bad. I constantly eaten besides and did not keep my program 100% Iīve told it to the 1st PD-Team and they answerd me immediately. The support is really very good and they gave me a good explanation what happen if I did not follow the programm exactly. Itīs good to know that I have so good support behind me. And this community will help me too. There are very friendly people here and it makes me happy to be here...

{hi} there Gitta

WELL DONE to your 1PD Support Team :applause: and :clapping3: to you for not becoming discouraged by having two difficult weeks, but for becoming more determined to do better. {goodjob}

Yes, the Forum is filled with wonderful inspiring and success stories, all happening right here day by day and, we really want you to be a more regular part of it all!

You may be in Germany, but cyberspace makes the world a really small place.

Please visit our recipe section for lovely ideas - I'm thinking you could enjoy baking your apple with cinnamon and sweetener and crumbling a cracker or two over this to make delicious diet apple strudel.

Tell us a bit about your hobbies, your goals and your dreams, why did you join the 1st Personal Diet Program? Is there maybe a specific denim or pants or dress that you are hoping to fit into? Are you married do you have children?

I wish you much SLIMMING SUCCESS in this coming week: YOU CAN DO THIS! It's not too difficult!

Hi Gitta,

Sorry to hear you've had a bit of a hard time but you will be fine if you get back on plan 100%! You can do this and we will help you!

Hi Sasha (is this your correct name?)

Thank you for the tip about the recipe section - Iīll try to translate the recipes which I like ;-)

You would like to know something about me ;-) So - one of my favorite hobbies is swimming. Eeach morning before I go to work I go for 1300-1500 meters to swim. But itīs only from May to September at the open-air swimming pool and at the winter time I dont know what kind of sport I can make. Since a few weeks I visit a fitness-center additionaly Tuesday and Friday. I have lost 6 pounds in spite of these bad two weeks that I have recently and altogether I have lost 16 pounds (8 kilos) since 28. of March.

Also I like country music - particularly Keith Urban and Tim McGraw but still many more of them. In germany this music is not so poular as in the USA and so itīs difficult to sell CDīs of these artists. I like to go to the cinema - this week the new Indiana Jones movie will start in our city and I will see together with my boyfriend. I am not married and have no children but family is very important for me and so I often visit my parents.

I like hiking and the mountains in Austria. I have there a family which I already visit over 20 years. It is as my second homeland. I love nature and make gladly photos with my camera. Sometimes I paint, but I must have enough leisure for it...

I work independently in an advertising agency and arrange announcements.

So - I have to say bye, because the course at the fitness-studio begins soon.

Many Greetings from Germany

Gitta

Well I cant change my ticker at work because I saved the link to do that on my home computer. So I will have to wait until I get home tonight. Unless, someone knows how to do it otherwise. I welcome hints. :)

Mrs Peel, I want to change my goal to 40lbs. This is easy, so I am going for it.

Never mind I figured it out. Sometimes I surprise myself. :)

{hi} there Gitta

I do believe that you will enjoy making the zucchini hash browns - under the egg ideas, they are one of my favorite recipe's.

I'm told that swimming is one of the best and healthiest forms of exercises - while being on the program you can continue to do your swimming providing that you do not become hungry. I do believe it will be a good idea for you to take a second multi-vitamin at lunchtime on the days that you are swimming or exercising and that it would be good for you to eat a fruit or 1/2 a fruit 20 minutes prior to exercising...

{congrats} on having lost 16 pounds since 28 March 2008 that is wonderful :clapping3: because those pounds are GONE!!!

Once you've watched the new Indiana Jones movie, please come and let us know what you think about it in the Coffee Clutch area - I also love movies :flirt:...

Now is a great time to indulge in your hobbies such as taking photo's and painting etc - the more busy you are, the quicker the time will go. I think Austria is a beautiful country :-) and can understand why you love going back...

Wishing you a wonderful week of slimming!!!

Hello Determined,

please tell me how do you make this great progress in only 4 weeks.

for me it is a hard way at the moment... the discipline is missing to me and I eat often besides. It frustrates me and I get it simply not into the grasp. So - how do you make it?

Best Regards from Germany

WOW Determined!!! Great job on your weight loss! Your DETERMINATION has really paid off!

Gitta dear - you CANNOT eat any extra. Any change to Dr. Cohen's plan will cause a slow-down in your weight loss. You MUST stick to the plan 100% which is harder in the beginning. Once you've been on plan 100% for a week or so, your hunger and cravings go away (almost completely). This will only work if you stick to plan. Every time you eat extra you keep those cravings and hunger pains around.

{hi} there Gitta

If I may be so cheeky :flirt: as to say: I believe Determined is using some DETERMINATION... to make sure she is following her eating plan 100%... anything less means your progress slows down...

It's easy to start a new diet or new eating plan, but what will get you there in the end is STAYING WITH WHAT WORKS... Dr Cohen's program works, but you must follow it 100%.

Please read my post: HAVE YOU FALLEN OFF THE BUS in the support section - around page 2... I hope this helps you to focus.

Another HOT TIP is to come and spend lots of time on the Forum, it's a great place of motivation and it can help you to focus on what it is that you are trying to achieve. Tell us why you want to lose weight - you must want to do this more than you want to eat wrong foods... etc.

Above all, believe in yourself: YOU CAN DO THIS 100% TOO! {cheerleader}
