Hi everyone,
I just wanted to pass on something that was a real eye-opener to me today. I have finished four weeks now, (well, one was a wash, so really three full-on weeks) and today was the first time I have taken a multi-vitamin. :innocent4: Hopefully no one else out there is as neglectful as me,:eyebrow: BUT, if you are not taking vitamins, I recommend you start! I had been feeling quite hungry this past week and today, after taking my multi-vitamin, I can report...I'M NOT HUNGRY!
The reason I hadn't taken any until now is that I can't do one with iron, as the extra iron constipates me. Iron free are expensive, but I finally bit the bullet and it's soooo worth it!
Anywho, I'm thrilled, and wanted to pass it on. :dance:

{hi} there AusieGirl
That's because vitamins are FOOD for your body, providing you with nutrients that you do need
:innocent2:
When ladies have PMS cravings, a second vitamin at lunchtime normally sorts this out very well for the same reason.
Successful slimming! :cloud9:

hi aussiegirl-
i did not take any vitamins for the first week, i was waiting to get the ones i ordered on line, etc.
well, i do not know if it was because i was in the zone with the program or through detox, but i suddenly felt 100% better.
i take a multi-vit, extra vit d, a cal-mag-zinc supplement, chromium and 5 htp-
i feel better than i have in a year, may be 2 years...
glad you are doing so well!

I've been taking vitamins and I notice the days I forget, I'm WAY hungrier. Also, when I'm PMSing it helps a lot. I'm a big kid. So, I take a Flintstones kid vitamin, biotin (skin/nails), and Omega 3. I switched to the Adult gummy vitamins....but didn't realize it had so much sugar. But, vitamins definitely do the trick to feed your body. Bitten...I agree...I haven't felt this good in years...It's amazing how this diet works!

I'll admit, I'm really bad about taking my vitamin and drinking enough water. I try to get the water in, but it's not consistent. I find that the busier I am, the less I drink. My vitamin routine used to be in the morning, but I read that caffeine actually limit's the blood's ability to absorb some vitamins and minerals. Seeing as I drink caffeinated coffee, I need to switch to a lunchtime vitamin and remember to actually take it! Evidently eating with food also helps absorb the nutrients -- makes sense, but I never used to give these things much thought.

Hey Shawn,
I have a times set up on my work computer that pops up at around lunch time to remind me to take my vitamin. Not sure if that'd work for you, but the vitamins are so important. You're doing such a great job! Keep it up!

{hi} there Everyone

PoeticallyYours: I'm hoping you've managed to find a multi-vitamin without the added sugar? Sugar in vitamins and fruit flavoring will only slow your progress down and {noway} we don't want that to happen!
Shawn: How about taking the vitamin just after breakfast and having coffee first thing in the morning ie: not with your meal? I think this can help and it sure beats not getting those nutrients in... or maybe switch just that once cup to decaf?
About the water - most men I've spoken to don't have a problem downing 500ml of water in a go... if you can do this, you only need to do it 4 times a day. Once in the morning and maybe another time when you get to work. Once around lunchtime and another once in the afternoon before going home or when getting home... Just an idea, maybe it can help you to get your water in or you could modify the idea into something that can work for you... ? Remember, if you don't drink all your water your body will not be able to flush out the toxins from the fat breaking down and your body will actually slow down the weight loss... So, whatever happens, that's enough reason to drink up!
Bronwyn: I love the way you are always Personalizing your program and finding ways to make it work for you... {goodjob}

Yes, I went out and bought the weight loss multi-vitamin. I knew those blasted gummy vitamins were going to be trouble!! :-) I was taking like 2 of those a day and they have 4 sugar carbs...I probably could've lost 20 more lbs...well, maybe not. :eyebrow:

Bronwyn, congrats on reaching goal!!!!!!! {congrats} That's so awesome. I'm going to try the pop up alarm idea on my computer. That's a great idea. Now that I'm thinking about "reminders" I'll set a recurring alarm on my phone as well that way if I'm not at my computer I'll still be reminded! Thanks!
Shasha, my "one" cup of coffee is really about six :) Decaffeinated coffee to me is worse than taking away my olive oil! I have to draw the line in the sand somewhere {violin} More seriously, the water bothers me because I do need to drink more water. I keep a 1000ml (32oz) bottle with me all the time, but I'm just not thirsty. Today I'm going to try switching to a standard tall glass and see if by chance I can get more down when the glass is smaller than I do with this large bottle. {thinking} Maybe it's psychological. Thanks for the good ideas and continued positive energy!

Hi Shawn,
Glad you like the pop up reminder idea. By now I'm pretty used to taking the vitamin that time of day (I take my second calcium at lunch) but the pop up certainly helped to get me into the habit.
Also - re: the water. Just think that every time you take a sip, you chug as much as you can. I almost always get 1/2 glass to a full glass of water down every time I think of the water. You're doing the right thing by having it with you all the time, so next step is figuring out how to get it down.
Also - AMEN on the coffee!!! It's funny but I feel more addicted to it now by the end of this diet. I think it's because it's the only vice I'm allowed right now and I can't imagine going without.
Bottom line is that you're doing awesome and well on your way to reaching your goal!! Good job! I'm also glad you've stuck around on the forum. The men seem to come and go so quickly around here.

{hi} there Everyone
Bronwyn: I agree, it's GREAT having Shawn here... clearly he's not feeling intimidated by the sea of estrogen LOL {rofl}
Shawn: So, accountability 101 here we come: How did the water go today??? Did you manage to get in the FULL 2 LITERS OF YOUR SLIMMING JUICE???
You said you were not thirsty... That immediately reminded me of something I read somewhere that says sometimes when people are not use to drinking enough water, their sense of thirst could be 'switched off' and that the more water they drink, the more they find they will become thirsty again... just wanted to share that thought with you and say {goodjob} on setting those reminders.
Remember that making changes and learning new healthier patterns can take time but if you keep on at it, sooner or later you will cross over the line and the habit that first seemed like hard work will feel like a natural part of every day life ~ much like driving - I mean, when last did you actually have to think to yourself: foot on the break, car out of gear, turn the key, hold onto the wheel, foot on clutch, find the gear, no, the other gear, accelerate, no, not so fast, slowly and whoooooohoooo, here we go, slowly... {motorcycle}
Nope! You've simply moved BEYOND THAT POINT because practise makes perfect!!!
