Well I just finished week 3 and it has been a very bumpy ride! Week one was great but then week two started........my house was flooded by my washing machine, we got a new dog that constantly runs away, and we had to move out of our house for 3 days while it was professionally dried. That was a hard week and I gave myself every excuse to not be 100%. So the first week I lost 5lbs. but gained 3 back the second one. So starts week 3. I have been 100% and have taken the 3lbs. off and than some. I am now done 10lbs. but I know if I had been good I would be so much more. I am never allowing myself to give in so easy again. It really does get easier as you go. I eat my measured meals and my family has their seperate meals. I know there will be a day when I can have (in moderation, of course) the same as them. I guess the moral of mystory is don't let life's little stresses convince you that you can't do this. Everyone is stronger then they know! You guys are a constant insiration to me. I read the forum everyday and you keep reminding me why I am doing this! THANK YOU!::love8:

AmandaJane ~ WOW! Everything hit at once! I’m happy to hear things are settling down for you again, and you are back on track. YOU are definitely an inspiration for us too! Being fairly new at this and only starting my second week; I’m taking your words to heart when you say it does get easier as you go. I sure hope so! I am with you and I too look forward to the day when I can enjoy (in moderation) those foods the family continues to eat today. I know the day will come….have to have patience. After all, we didn’t put the weight on overnight, it’s not going to come off overnight. Right? Thanks so much for sharing your story! I hope you have an awesome week as you deserve it!!

AmandaJane, sorry to hear you had such a rough week, and I can relate to your plight. I'm a second-time-arounder on the 1PD program. I started last year and successfully lost 20 lbs. my first month, but then the bottom fell out of my world. :( I had to have eye surgery and ended up having three of them over the course of three months. I became so depressed that my weight problems just ceased to matter. I could only concentrate on getting through the frustration and fear of all the surgeries. But I pulled through and began the diet again with an even stronger desire to see it to the end. I just completed my sixth week and you are absolutely right, it does get easier the longer you are on it. Don't know if you saw one of my other posts, but I actually went on a two-day, overnight hike and ate only my allowed meals and snacks, even cooked my supper over an open flame. :flirt: And, this past Saturday I was asked to be a server at my father-in-law's 80th birthday party. Sooooooooooo much food and goodies layed out before me for three straight hours. But, you know what, it didn't even bother me, at all. I was really amazed. I have a trip coming up this next weekend and will be out of town for 5 days, staying in a hotel. I am so determined to stay the course that I went and purchased myself a hot plate so I can fix all my meals in my hotel room. I will head out with that, my kitchen utensils, food scale and Cohen allowed foods in tow. I've already informed my daughter that I WILL NOT be going out to dinner with her -- she can stay in and eat with me. :party1:

I just wanted to share some of my war stories and successes with you so that you would know it can be done and it does get easier. Stay the course!!!!! You will be greatly rewarded for it. :clapping3:

Thanks for all the support!

Gettingskinny, your situation was by far worse than mine! I can't imagine 3 eye surgeries. I hope all is well and you are done with that! Your progress really is amazing! I hope to follow the same trend.

It's funny how in the old days (before Cohen) I let stress dictate my eating habits. I got caught up in it for 1 moment and it almost took control again. What is great about this program is I was able to jump right back on that horse. This is the first time I have ever been able to honestly say it was easy getting back on! So congrats to all of us for taking this journey and realizing we are in control! YEA US!!!:)

{hi} there AmandaJane

A very WARM WELCOME to you! :bighug:

{goodjob} for getting back on track again! And for {pan} away those pounds!

Having these kind of interruptions can just be so frustrating - even without dieting it can be very difficult to deal with too many things happening all at the same time. Thankfully that is now over and you can give yourself the well deserved focus that you need in the coming weeks.

The 1st Personal Diet Forum is certainly a source of great inspiration! There are so many strong ladies out here who can just keep on encouraging you to do better all the time… So, you’ve come to the right place...

I look forward to seeing your progress!
