Hey, all!
I haven't been able to post as much as usual, and that got me thinking about my diet buddies who are missing from the Forum lately:
AZKAT - how is re-feed going?? Tell us still-dieting folks what you're going through!
Bailey - where are you?? We miss you!
baredw - You were struggling with skipping meals last time you posted. Have you been able to stay on track? Are you losing weight?
iggyjoh40 - Inger, my friend, where have you gone??? You should be past your 12 weeks by now, and did you re-up or did you get to target weight? DO TELL!!!!! You are missed!
JadeHawk - Dude, how is your master plan going? Are you able to keep up the level of exercise you planned?
Meemsi - ??? Don't tell me you're long gone . . . :(
Fill us in, friends - we're all wondering! :love4:

Hi Everyone! It's nice to be missed. You all are doing great. I still come back every once in a while to read mostly to see what I can learn. To be honest I didn't want to post lately because I feel like such a failure. After maintaining so well for a few months I suddenly feel the need to eat everything in sight. I've had a stressful few weeks. I'm still unemployed. I've had some temp jobs but they are few and far between. My husband is self employed and we owed Uncle Sam money for 2007 and we had to pay his quarterly taxes for 2008 all on 4/15.
I'll stop complaining now. It helps to get it out though. Anyway I'm doing what I hoped I wouldn't have to do, I'm starting the diet again tomorrow. I'm only up 6 lbs so it shouldn't take that long to get it off. I weighed my meats today in little bags and put them in the freezer so I'm ready. It's funny how I like the "empty" feeling while on the diet so much better than how I feel now. It's so sick what we do to ourselves. It's all a mind thing and I have to get mine back to a positive place.
I know what you're talking about Bailey...too much food is like - poisoning your mind, too, isn't it? I feel the same when I eat "usual stuff"... As I'm not SO much there, really feeling the world...
I realized huge difference when I was fasting - suddenly I could feel, see, hear, smell so much better! My mind was so much more clear and I could be much calmer.
But you have the tool - you know it, you've been there...maybe few days of Cohens and you'll be back feeling clean and healthy from inside out:party1:!!!!
Bailey

Thanks Maya! Your description of the "clean feeling" was so accurate and I want to get that back. I'm starting today and I'm so ready. The strictness of the plan is what I need. I'm actually looking forward to it.

Hi Bailey!! Welcome back and we did miss you! So glad you are back on track and remember that we are here for you. Life is hard, and this isn't easy so know that we support you no matter what 100%. You'll feel so much better to get "clean" again and maybe that deviation was just what you needed to stay motivated for the rest of the program. You should definitely journal how you are feeling right now and how you felt eating that bad food again so that you don't forget.

{hi} there Bailey
WELCOME BACK!!! {bighug}
WE MISSED YOU SO VERY MUCH {grouphug1}
{wave}
Do you want to know what I consider to be the biggest lie in the whole wide world to be????
What do you think it could be????
I’ll let you think about it for a minute…
Shasha
04-23-2008, 12:03 PM
I believe the biggest lie in the whole wide world to be one that we tell our children often in stories while growing up:
…and they all lived happily ever after…
The real world is NOTHING like that at all!!!
The real thing is much more like Cinderella marries the charming Prince and on the way to Honeymoon they get a flat tire!
When they come back they found out he got fired!
Then there’s the mother-in-law’s tongue, the bills keep on coming … and uncle Sam of course!
LIFE IS HARD! And it is NOT FAIR!
Poor Cinderella – she was expecting sooooo much and she was expecting to live happy ever after and NOW THIS?? !!
And, did I forget to mention the Prince Charming is not a morning person and he is NOT always charming ?!?! and she has to struggle to get him out of bed in the morning boots and all… Then one day she wakes up thinking: my story was not suppose to go like this… we were suppose to live HAPPILY E.V.E.R. AFTER…
WHAT EVER HAPPENED ?!?! - SHE SCREAMED
{oops} {sorry} ~ Life happened! and it can be quiet if not very difficult for quiet a bit of the way… so, we should never expect to live happily ever after…
Thankfully if you look in the right spots and special places in the garden of your life, you will find that there are :flower:’s amongst the thorns and there is a balance between sunshine and rain in all the seasons of our lives…
So, chin up, you’ve got us on YOUR SIDE! We believe in you and we know YOU CAN MAKE YOUR DREAMS (or at least some of them - like being slim!) COME TRUE!!! {cheerleader} WELCOME BACK!!!
Bailey

Thank you all, I feel better already. Today is going to be beautiful, sunny & 70's. I think I'll go work in my garden since no one is calling me for interviews anyway.
I exercised this morning too. I just started yesterday. That's the one thing I hadn't mastered yet so I might as well start now. Hope everyone has a great day!

Hi, Bailey!!! I am so glad someone heard my shout-out - and I'm glad you're re-dedicating yourself to 1PD! I, too, am going to begin integrating some exercise as I really feel the lack of it.
Keep us posted - we're all in this together!!
Bronwyn

Hi Ladies,
I've started exercising the last couple of weeks too and it feels GREAT!! Glad to hear you're both adding that piece to your new lifestyle too.
Bailey - another thing I thought for you, is to think of how good you'll feel going on job interviews with a tight new body! It is very sad, but I am noticing that it is very true that you get taken more seriously in business situations when you are fit. I think mentally people tie your looks to your intelligence, whether that's accurate or not. Along with looking better to others you will have a newfound confidence that will show through when you're interviewing. I always believe that when it's right, you will find the right job for you and if you haven't been able to find one yet it's because the right one isn't ready for you yet. (I know that doesn't help to pay the bills so am putting some positive vibes out into the universe for you that something will come to you soon!)
Bailey
04-23-2008, 05:19 PM
Thanks Mrs Peel & Bronwyn. I agree about the right job now being ready for me yet. It's just so hard waiting. Things will get better financially it was just that big chunk on 4/15 that's hurting us right now.
I finished the diet several months ago and although I look really thin in clothes, I definitly don't have a tight body. Hopefully the exercise will take care of that.
Bronwyn
04-23-2008, 06:06 PM
Aha! Sorry Bailey, I forgot you were on the other side of the diet. You had the very inspirational post of life after the diet!! Sometimes I have a hard time keeping track. I remember really enjoying reading your segment on life after the diet and how realistic it was as to how we have to live once this is "over". Yes, exercise will help you a ton to feel tighter and to feel better about everything. It doesn't just make you look better, but releases those endorphines needed to combat stress and to promote that overall "well" feeling. Keep us posted, okay?
Bailey

That's ok Bronwyn. It is hard to keep track. This board has grown so much.
I've been jumping on my mini trampoline. It really helps get the lymph fluids draining. It has so many benefits and it's fun. When I did Fat Flush diet several years ago she recommended it. Funny because my allergy problems seem so much better. I don't know if that's possible in 2 days but I've been really suffering. Here is some of the benefits I found on this website http://www.evolutionhealth.com/rebounder/rebounding-benefits.htm or if anyone is interested do a search on the internet. It's amazing all the things it can help.

{hi} there Everyone
We were designed to MOVE! :jumping2: And, those are 42 excellent reasons why to keep :jumping2: ~thanks for sharing them Bailey.
For Diet Buddies reading this who are perhaps not use to bouncing or only starting – take it slowly… listen to your body… the added :jumping2: activity can sometimes result in a lowering of blood pressure or feeling dizzy. Don’t overdo and we recommend that you eat your apple 20 minutes prior to exercising moderately.
Bailey
04-24-2008, 10:06 AM
Good advice Sasha. For anyone still on the diet you can stand on the trampoline and just bounce lightly without picking your feet up off the trampoline just for a few minutes and you can still get some benefits.

I'm so glad I signed on this morning. I was worried because I had been gone for about 8 weeks now. I used to post or at least sign on and read 6 days a week. I was on the 1pd 100% for the first 3 months. Then mother's day hit and I let my family take me out to breakfast. Still, I ordered a 2 egg omelette with veggies so not as bad as I could have been but that slight deviation turned into a huge one. All of a sudden, I was sneaking a snack at night then I got bolder and my snack became larger and larger! I was stress eating due to some personal issues but that's no excuse. I was unsure about coming back to the forum because I felt not only like a failure, but that I let myself and my family and all my supporters down. Throughout the 3 months when I stuck to 1pd 100% ANYtime I needed support, the people here always gave it to me. I felt like I had let everyone down by cheating (and gaining 4 lbs back). It's funny how I'm down 40 lbs (now 36) and gaining those 4 lbs back feel like the entire 40. It was difficult for me to sign on this morning but when I did, I saw Mrs. Peel's shout out and I read Bailey's post and I felt so glad that other people have set back's, too. (Not that I'm happy they have set back's but that they are experiencing what I am and they understand). I'm back on 100% as of today and I'm already feeling good. Thanks, 1PD and all the forum buddies out there. I know I'm going to need your support but it's helpful to know it's out there.
Bailey - Good luck on your job search. I know how hard it is. My husband got laid off 6 weeks ago. He's applied to over 200 jobs and he's gotten very little response. We've even started looking in other states because no one is hiring in California. I hope you find something soon. THis is not a fun place to be.

Keep going straight a head and please do not be too hard on yourself...now you know what it is like to go off and jump back on! You realized you were missing the good feelings and success...so glad you are full speed ahead again! Keep strong girlie! Momof4{motorcycle}

Flwrgrlie- I have missed you! Welcome back. I have not been as good as you think. Several weeks ago, I fell hard off the wagon with a cheese coney and chicken salad which resulted in a 2 lb. gain. The best advice I got was to pick myself up, dust off, and keep moving forward... to not let the little bump in the road stop me from crossing the finishing line. I am glad to hear that you have picked yourself up from your fall. If you need a friend to walk(or run) with you to the finish line, I am here for you.

:crying::crying:{bouncing} Sorry for the smilies. I let my 3 year old pick out which ones he wanted to post.
Amylynn,
Thanks for your support! Glad to hear you haven't been perfect, either. Well, not glad but just glad to know I'm not as devious as I originally thought and that it's human to rebel once in a while. But you got right back on and I did not. :-( But I'm back on track and ready to finish this thing and meet my goal. I can't wait to see your photos when you reach yours!
Momof4 - LOVE your name! Wow, I don't know how you do it. I've got 2 boys and that's a ton of work. 4, I'd love it but what hard work! I'm sure it's worth every moment, though. Thanks for the support.
Bitten,
Thanks for cheering me on!
Everyone's support really means a lot and is SO HELPFUL in this battle against the bulge!

Hey FlwrGrlie! So glad you logged back on and that you shared with us your story of deviation. What matters is that you did come back and that you want to finish so you will! You have been so much fun on these boards too and you were doing so well. I'm also so sorry to hear about your husband being out of work. That can't be easy to deal with and I'm sure played a part in your stress eating. Remember, with this new lifestyle, you must think of other ways to manage your stress. I know you will and if you need ideas you know there are plenty of people here to lend some to you. Again, glad you're back and please know that we are here for you.

Hello Flwrgrlie! Just wanted to check in to see how your day is going, you know, being back on track. Just thinking of you and that it is soooooeasy to go off track but takes a little more mental work to get back on! It seems that there is a major common thread with overeating...STRESS! Brownyn is so right about finding something else to release stress. This forum is one of my biggies...I just look through all the posts and it gives me encouragement. Another big one is reading...I make sure it is a good book I can get lost in, and if I have to put it down for kids, priorities etc.... I know I will want to pick it up instead of snacks. Working so far, but find what works for you. It definately is not easy!
Well, just hinking of you and sending encouragement your way!:rolling2:
Also love that your 3 year old picked out the smiles! What a mom!

Momof4,
Thanks for checking in on me! Yes, this forum is a BIG motivation for me. It helps keep me in line - IF I use it everyday. I have to remind myself to log on but just reading and communicating with people who are working hard at this is very motivating.
As far as reading, I LOVE IT! I get an hour each day to read during my commute to and from work and I relish the time.
You are so lucky to have 4 (I'm sure wonderful) children. My husband and I would love to have more. That's on hold, though, until he finds another job. I think the hardest part about that is how hard he is trying. But we are also conflicted at the same time. Since he got laid off, he's been staying home with our kids and he loves it. I love it, too. My house is clean, laundry is always done, homework is completed and everyone is so happy - all by the time I get home. It's really nice. I wish he could find something working from home so we could keep this up. Oh, well. I know something will work out. We've even starting looking in other states that aren't so expensive in the hopes he could find a good job and I could stay home. But, I'm determined NOT to stress over it and eat my way through it. Instead, I'm going to log onto the forum and keep myself on track.
Bronwyn,
Thanks for your kind words of encouragement. It means a great deal to me to know there is support all around me. Today is day 3 of being 100% back on and I FEEL GREAT!
Knowing thoughtful people like you both are here to support me is a huge motivator!

{hi} there :flower:Grlie
:bighug: I’ve MISSED YOU SOO MUCH!! And I’m so glad that you are back here’s a whole bunch of flowers and love to WELCOME YOU HOME! :love7:
It’s horrible how just one cheat can throw you off track, and I’m really glad that you’ve found the strength to come back!
Don't be hard on yourself, just remember it’s all about the hormones and when your blood sugar first sores then sinks, your body cannot produce enough serotonin to tell you STOP THAT I DON’T NEED THIS JUNK – it’s because your serotonin is low that you want to eat and eat and… you know that horrible feeling and then on top of that, you feel really down – remember serotonin is your happy hormone and now it’s too low…
Please see my post HAVE YOU FALLEN OFF THE BUS in the Support Section… it explains it all… I don’t want to ramble, but I do want you to know that there are many Diet Buddies who have a similar fall...
WELL DONE on reaching Day 3 ~ remember the first week is the most difficult... Taking a second vitamin at lunchtime really helps and if you are hungry rather avoid the cheese and yogurt meal options.
I’m so glad that you are back!!!

WELL DONE!!! {wave}
I'd like to recommend that you search the words TRAVEL TIPS cos there are quiet a lot of wonderful tips all over the forum posted by various DIET BUDDIES...
Here are some from my side:
Your personal diet program is made out of the precise food items and weights you need to take. When travelling or eating out etc, the best would be to have a kitchen in which you can prepare your food just like at home. Unfortunately, this is not always practical and you may need to eat the available foods en-route. Therefore, a setback of your diet is unavoidable but you can try and minimize the setback by eating smart.
Try to find food items that are allowed on your diet (plain yogurt, hardboiled egg, vegetables, canned tuna and the likes). Eating these foods – even with no scale to weigh the foods – is better than eating a sandwich or a hamburger.
Eating out while you on a personal diet program where all your food intake is calculated carefully, might be a challenge. Some brave customers take their kitchen scale with them to the restaurant and order just a green salad. Others go out but just drink coffee / water. Eating out while on the program will set your progress back and we strongly recommend trying and avoiding this. If you have to go, just order a small green salad with a low-fat dressing on the side. This will help in having a smaller setback.
Hopefully, by eating smart the setback will not be as bad - some clients even report loosing weight while being away and following these guidelines, so here's wishing you much success on your weight loss, even when you are on holidays! YOU CAN DO IT!

Hi there Finally Free Julie!! So good to hear from you! Glad you're still on plan and doing so well. Travelling is definitely a challenge, but definitely do-able. Take Shasha's advice and read through some of the travel threads as there are many good suggestions on this forum to help get you through. You will feel so good about yourself if you make it through this trip while staying on plan. It is very empowering knowing you can maintain your willpower and have self control while still having a great time on vacation. You don't need the treats and drinks, etc. to enjoy yourself. Instead, focus on how great you look and feel and know that it just gets better and better.
