Hi, I saw all these wonderful testimonies and photos of the people that managed to lose weight with this diet and my doctor recommended it. However, I am now on week 7 and lost only 3Kg out of 58Kg I need to lose. This is very slow. I know this is working as it worked for all these people and I am worried that I am not doing it right. Here is what I eat:
Breakfast: egg and celery sticks
10 o'clock: apple
Lunch: fish and tomato
2 o'clock: apple
5 o'clock: 2 crackers
Dinner: chicken and tomato (hate all other vegetables)
Later: remaining of crackers
Since I cannot weigh my food at my lunch break I but the grilled fish at a restaurant but they grill it for me with no butter.

Let me know what you think.

Thank you.

{hi} LoraB

Well done on having lost 3 kg so far :clapping:

Your progress does seem a bit slower than we would like it to be and from what you are writing, I can see some mistakes are being made. {oops}These "small mistakes'' will have a long term effect on your progress and so it is best to eliminate them right away.

1) Please note that ALL foods need to be weighed raw, to the gram. If you don't do this, you will in fact not be following Dr Cohen's program for you. So please weigh all your foods prior to preparing them.

2) Tomato has a limit ie: no more than 1/2 a tomato per meal, maximum 1 tomato per day. 1/2 a tomato weighs about 60 grams, and I'm sure that your vegetable portion with fish for lunch is not equal to 60 grams... and the same with dinner vegetables.

3) If you have 2 crackers at 5 pm and "Later: remaining of crackers", please note that you should never eat more than 2 x cracker portions at the same time. If you are having 3 x cracker portions in the evening, your body will trigger the production of insulin (your fat storing hormone).

I recommend that you please make your meals such as lunch the day before so that you do not need to ask for fish at a restaurant. Alternatively, ask the restaurant if they can please weigh your potion of fish and vegetables.

We recommend that you try to find some more vegetables that you enjoy.

Perhaps try the following salad dressing:

200 ml plain white vinegar
500 ml water
Sweetener to taste
½ teaspoon salt
Chop up nice fresh herbs – my favorite is fennel, basil, thyme, rosemary etc - you can also use dried plain herbs (remember no msg and starch additives)… I usually add mixes of the following: Sweet Basil, Parsley, Thyme, Mixed Herbs, a bit of Mint…

Just in case you like a creamy dressing: take 20 ml of the above and mix with your 5 ml diet mayonnaise. You may add balsamic vinegar to the above to make a sauce to pour over your stir-fry while cooking - the balsamic helps to make your food brown and it will taste different when you mix it with the salad dressing recipe.

Bon appetite!

Hoping the above changes help to speed up your progress, please read through your New Customer Guide again carefully so as not to make any mistakes regarding any of the rules ie: all your water every day, meals minimum 5 hours apart etc.

Here's looking forward to seeing your progress soon {bighug}
