Ok, guys, I took my blood test yesterday. The lab people were not too efficient and the nurse hurt me while looking for a vein (narrow veins and well hidden). I hope to get my diet next week … how long does it usually take? I know I am crazy to start just before Christmas but the alternative is to eat with no restraints, as “tomorrow” I will start a diet.

Hey Meemsi,

You aren't crazy at all. I started right here before the holidays as well, and I can tell you it has been totally worth it. I keep a daily Program journal. I write down everything that I eat and how I am feeling. (So on Thanksgiving, when I sat and enjoyed everyone ELSE eating, I had a lot to say to my notebook!)

But this has been completely worth it. I don't weigh often, it throws me off when I don't see enough weight gone, but I set Clothing goals. If you are like me, you have a least one pair of jeans that are too snug. So I hung those up where I could see them, and every Friday I try them on. This is FUN! I am already wearing my first pair of motivation, and had to hang up something else another size down! When you are feeling like maybe the Season will get the better of your will power, go try on your motivation and think about where you will be when you can wear them confidently. It works for me. (And just FYI, I did weigh after my first two weeks and I was already down 14 pounds!) :laughing:

And Kristie, I do like the idea of motivating myself with clothes. In fact, I pulled out an old pair of jeans that haven't fit in years and am anxiously waiting to fit in them again! My hubby said I could pick a "reward" when I do fit in them! Yay!

I think I might like to go on a cruise when I am feeling super cute! That is a can of worms your husband opened! :laughing: You should have a little fun with that one!
