{hi} there Everyone
This thread is specifically devoted to recipe's containing FRUIT Ideas ~ please feel welcome to share all tooty FRUITY IDEAS with us:
Hi Becky,
If you have a sweet tooth here is one of my favorites~
You can use either an apple or peach
Spray cooking dish with cooking spray (I used butter flavored)
Slice peach or apple into bite sized pieces
Sprinkle with cinnamon and splenda
Add 1/8 cup water
Bake at 450 for 15 minutes (keeping an eye on it and stirring a time or two)
Crumble a few saltines on top
If you really concentrate it takes JUST like pie!
While on the diet~ I made it quite often, it satisfied my sweet tooth and made me a VERY happy camper! {boing}

Hi all,
 Just wondering if canned fruits in natural juices are allowed, specifically peaches? And if so what is the equivalent in weight for one fruit?
Cheers

DIET CHEESE CAKE :rolling2:
2 x Cracker portions (from allowance)
Smooth cottage cheese (from allowance)
Sweetener
Kiwi or other fruit (from allowance)
Method::party1:
Mix cottage cheese with liquid sweetener. Take 2 x crackers portions and place your smooth cottage cheese mixture on top. Thinly slice 1 kiwi fruit or any other fruit which you prefer from your allowance and place on top.
There you have a really fancy sweet treat that looks almost just as tempting as those in the shops, except for this one is a FAT BURNING CHEESE CAKE!! {rofl}
Tip:  Remember to eat your vegetables at the same meal and then to have your desert...

Here are two fruit desserts you might like.
One is called "Moroccan oranges," and is made by peeling an orange, slicing it into rounds and sprinkling the slices VERY LIGHTLY with cinnamon (too much cinnamon will overpower the orange and make it bitter).
The other is grated apple with spice: grate an apple (unpeeled if organic). Mix in some pumpkin pie spice or cinnamon.

Mango Salsa
-Diced Mango (from allowance - I don't use the whole allowance for this recipe)
-20g Diced Onion (from Veggie allowance)
-Chopped Cilantro
-Freshly Grated Ginger
-Dash of White Vinegar
-Dash of Lemon Juice (together the lemon juice and mango make up one fruit allowance)
Mix in a bowl and adjust additives as needed for perfect flavor. This salsa is excellent on grilled seafood or chicken. I have it almost once a week.

Hi everyone,
I just wanted to share my new favorite fruit recipe.....I cut up mango and honeydew and freeze them. When I want dessert, I reach in the freezer and viola! It's almost like sorbet. Plus, because they are frozen, it makes me eat slower!
YUM! And perfect for the summer!

I just had the mango sorbet. Either Shawn or Rachinnj came up with the recipe. It was so yummy. 4 oz of sprite zero and frozen mango. It was heavenly. I felt like I was cheating. :rolling2:

One Apple sliced (I left the skin on)
1-2 tsp of Cinnimon (to taste really I didn't measure)
a little water (1 TB) (not even sure if this is needed)
Put on the 4 prong blade and just keep going till its all mashed up (much longer than 10 seconds)
It was a little watery so I added a cracker allowance to help with the water and added more Cinnimon... so if you don't add any water I'm sure you don't need the cracker... of I also added benefiber (but that has no taste)
Mixed a little more and WOW!!!!!! It was amazing!
I put it in the fridge to get cold. It was by far the best treat I've had. It was sweet, but didn't leave me wanting more sweets and YUMMY!!!!
So if you have a Magic Bullet or something similar give it a try!

{hi} there AZ
I’ve often made a similar sweet treat, but with cooked apples – I must try this with the raw apple!!
It sounds so nice! :hungry: I think it’s a great place to hide the fiber... :hii:
Hello All,
I have to share the dessert I made for myself tonight- and I believe it is on program.(please let me know if it isn't)
1 peeled and thin sliced apple, put in sprayed frying pan.
Arrange sliced apple's in pan sprinkle with cinnamin-
a dash or two of diet coke and cover- then stir a little.
It is so good, just what I wanted - something sweet.
(I did say to myself this would be soooo nice w/ a scoop of
vanella ice cream & a cup of Joe..lol)
Hope its legal

Hi all!
I tried this about 2 weeks ago and I absolutely loved it! It should be great for a nice hot day. I adapted it from an Italian lemonade recipe.
Minty Lemonade or Lemonade Mint Cooler or Italian Lemonade or Papa Cohen's Lemonade-uh (said with much gesturing)...your choice
Squeeze the juice from one lemon, add several leaves of fresh mint, then crush. Cover and let it steep for 1 hour. Strain into a tall glass. Add sweetner, ice and water to taste.
The lemonade is lightly infused with mint and is delicious! I guess you could even use non-flavored sparkling mineral water if you wanted, as long as you count the sparkling stuff as part of your soda allowance. Oh, and if you made this then put it into popsicle molds, how good would that be!

Spiced Peaches
4 Peaches, peeled/halved/pitted
Sweetener + Liquid (Water + splenda, diet sprite, be creative, although I'm fairly sure diet coke will just taste vile)
Cinnamon sticks wrapped in cheesecloth
Put the liquid/sweetener in a pot, bring it to a boil. Put the cinnamon in and let it boil for about 5 minutes. Then add the peaches, and let those boil for another 10 minutes or so (until the fruit is tender). Grab a tupperware container, put the whole concoction in it, let it sit in the fridge for a few days. Grab 2 halves as one fruit dish.

Balsamic Grilled Peaches
Okay, here's a great peach recipe to try. I was going to try it on the bbq grill, but I didn't want to start it up for just that. I remembered I had a small George Foreman grill that I haven't used for years. As I had it warming up, I prepped the peaches, so here it is!
- 1 peach
- 1/2 ounce balsamic vinegar
- ground ginger (optional, I've made it with & without)
- fresh cracked pepper
- 1 packet sweetner
1 peach, peel off the skin, pull out the pit, cut in half across peach half to make slices (not wedge).
In bowl, mix 1/2 oz. balsamic vinegar, fresh cracked pepper, a little ground ginger, 1 packet sweetner (I used splenda this time).
Put peach slices in mixture to coat. I used a spoon to help drizzle the mixture all over the peaches. Place on hot grill, pour rest of mixture over peaches. Leave on grill for about 3 minutes each side. (With the Foreman grill, it grills both sides at the same time) You should have grill marks on your peach by the time it is heated enough.
It was very good. Interesting flavors together. I made it a second time for both myself and my husband, he really liked it as well and said that we should make this again. It seems very decadent. Of course, I put it on a nice plate and garnished with cilantro to look all fancy.

I am new to the group. I was reading your post and another idea would be to replace the mint with a hint of rosemary. We have a local restaurant that serves rosemary lemonade. It is very yummy.

Does anybody know if cutting up the fresh fruit and then freezing it , is against the rules?

I haven't heard of anything wrong with freezing fruit. I have frozen fruit in chunks to blend later. Just make sure all your weighing has been done initially so you have the required weighed amount before freezing. I've also weighed & blended fruits with spices and then froze into popsicles.
