WARM TOFU SALAD: :flirt:
Tofu allowance
Iceberg lettuce (approx 60% of allowance) :clover:
Green pepper (approx 40%of allowance)
Balsamic Vinegar
Method: :)
Cut tofu up into 3cm squares and put in non stick pan. Coat generously in balsamic vinegar and cover all sides of the tofu. Add approx 1/4 cup of water and place pan on a high heat. Stir to avoid sticking and cook until all liquid has been absorbed. Chop lettuce and green pepper and place on a dinner plate. Arrange the cooked tofu on top. The vinegar gives the tofu a nice flavour that compliments the crispness of the vegetables!

HEY, THERE, VEGETARIANS AND FRIENZ WHO RAN OUT OF MEAT-ALLOWANCES 4 THE DAY! :peace:
I JUST "STOLE" A MEAT-RECIPE FROM SHASHA IN THE SECTION "SOMETHING MEATY" AS I HAD THIS ONE 2DAY WITH CRUMBLED TOFU INSTEAD OF THE MEAT AND IT WAS JUST AS YUMMY!! :hungry:
"YUMMY SPINACH RISSOLES
Meat – minced (allowance) ...IZ TOFU THEN
1 garlic clove crushed
Onion (allowance)
Spinach – using defrosted finely chopped spinach for balance of vegetable allowance.
Curry powder
Dash of chilli powder
Salt and pepper
Dried mixed herbs (optional)
Method:
Mix all ingredients in a bowl, and make up around 8 small rissoles (they cook faster and stay together). When cooked serve with crackers allowance. For a special something dip into mayonnaise allowance.
Tip: This recipe even works with chicken mince."
WELL- THIS RECIPE EVEN WORX WITH TOFU-MINCE!!!! BRAVO!!:clapping:

{hi} there QueenMom
 YES, TOFU is allowed on the 1st Personal Diet Program.
If you do not have a specific TOFU option on your eating plan, please write to your consultant and ask her to please ask Dr Cohen for a TOFU option for you.

{hi} there :surf:Girl
You may have green chilies, in moderation to flavor your food, about 3 times a week, providing they don’t trigger your hunger.
:cop: You should not use any red chilies, red chili products, cayenne pepper etc. I think they normally make the power from red chili’s – but I’m not sure if this is always the case. I recommend that you read the label on the bottle or box – if red chilies were used, the answer would be NO, please do not use the powder, rather crush your own green chilies...
