Dear LC & Wilma & Everyone
{hi} and thanks...
Sorry it took a bit of time - the Cohen Cops on this side were busy arresting Ronald! :clown:
Had enough of him distracting our clients and decided that {noway} was he going to get away with this!
Wishing you a super day :flower:

Hello, everyone!
I will finish my third week on the diet tonight, and in another week I'll be able to tell you how I've done so far. I personally find this diet very easy to follow - I'm not a big foodie person, so the strict guidelines make it very simple for me. My goal is to lose about 90 pounds, so I have my work cut out for me!:(
Here's to success for all of us!
Shasha

:hypnotic: Hey there Mrs Peel
Your little UFO has arrived at the right place in space! :flirt:
I agree! Cohen is tops because it is a no fuss, non complicated eating plan that gives you choices to make different healthy meals depending on your time and food availability.
Mostly I'm not much of a foodies person either - because I've just got too much else to do... when I'm busy, I don't really mind what it is just as long as it fills the gap in a healthy way, so cucumber and tuna fish will do fine thank you... so will celery sticks and cottage cheese.
Sometimes it's nice to put in a bit more time... I've posted a garlic bread recipe just for you! I hope that you will like it!
90 pounds sounds like a lot, but you will see, that as dieting becomes a part of your daily routine, you won't even notice it anymore, days will become weeks and though it will take a bit of time to loose 90 pounds, a day will come, when you suddenly look back and realise: YOU DID IT!
Please don't weigh before your 4 weeks are up BUT, please be sure to share your progress with everyone in a week from now :-)
It's just a couple of weeks and, it's just food. The wonderful thing is that Dr Cohen has calculated exactly how many grams of what you need in order to maximise your fat burning hormone production. No more wondering if this will work... - thousands of successful customers have walked the road before you - if they could do it, why not you?!?
Please keep on sharing your thoughts and idea's with us.
And, I hope that you took a before photo!!! You're going to need it as identification to all your freinds and family in a few months time!!!

My name is Inger and I started the program a week ago today and as of yesterday lost 8 pounds already, waiting 3 weeks now to step on the scale is going to be hard, but I'm going to try hard to refrain. I'm really determined to make this happen and need to lose per 1PD 110 pounds. It's hard to imagine that I've let myself go so far, but I'm sure it is the same for lots of people, but this time I have to do this for me and my 3 kids. My greatest motivation is my two cousins who did the plan and one lost 160 and the other 80 and they both look super and when I saw them at Thanksgiving, that was enough to make me realize that Cohen's plan must really work. :)

{hi} there Inger
Girl, you've joined the right program to achieve your goal!!! Well done on having the courage to start this journey!!!
{congrats} on having lost 8 pounds ALREADY!!! and please lock that scale away! Rather look at how your clothes are fitting...
You have seen the program worked for BOTH of your cousins who lost 80 AND 160 POUNDS!!! That is FANTASTIC, Please tell them: WELL DONE!!! from all of us!!! Perhaps they would like to post some of their pictures on the web? We would love to see their transformation!!
Now all you need to do is to take steps each day in the right direction by always following your eating plan 100%...
We believe that your day will come too, and perhaps it will be this year's Thanksgiving??? when you will also shock someone who has not seen the NEW YOU!
Always keep your focus on where you are going, hold onto that dream until it becomes a reality - YOU KNOW YOU CAN DO IT!!!
{cheerleader} WE ARE ALL HERE TO HELP YOU GET THERE!!!
Speaking of everyone - I'd be curious to see who is going to get there first :eyebrow: Inger or Mrs Peel ??? Go for it Gal's!!!
Perhaps the two of you would want to meet for a chat in the COFFEE CORNER?? There is plenty of coffee - of all kinds and diet biscuits too!!! all we ask is that you come and tell us a bit more about your hopes and dreams and about you...

Thanks, Meemsi! I am so excited and determined to make this work! And my husband starts his plan on Friday, so we're a 1PD family. Shasha, I will bet my hubby beats both Inger and me! Guys have it easier, and he only needs to drop about forty pounds. Grrr.:eyebrow:

Thank you Meemsi and Shasha for the warm welcome and Mrs Peel - No joke - my hubby is doing his own thing and has already lost 10 pounds, but he had more bad habits to cut out than me, and his job involves him traveling, which is never a good thing and he has a little bit of coffee with his sugar and creamer. I don't drink coffee, so no problem in that area - mine is sweets, chocolate, sweets. I will have to say I'm really proud of him, for about the past 2 weeks he has been drinking just black coffee with maybe a Splenda or two and can't never complete a cup. Let's keep each other motivated, maybe we can beat our husband's?? - - - hmmm.

INGER: {goodjob} You've got a very, VERY valid point my freind: if we keep eachother motivated, we can keep focussed!
KEEPING FOCUS is a really big key in being successful on this diet! It's all very well to loose xx pounds in your first month, then everyone starts complementing you and says, you're doing sooo well, you're looking sooooo great... you can have just one slice of cake to celebrate... you think to yourself, yes, I have got this all under control and BAM!!! :punch: before you know what's happened, you're hormones are out of balance again... and it's hard work going through that sugar withdrawal!!! Just not worth the setback! E.V.E.R.!!
Loosing GREAT in your first month is perfect, but then you need to push on and on and on and until you reach your goal and that's where your DIET BUDDIES will help you! To be by your side and to keep you focussed!
Inger, you score 10 out of 10 for that one!!!
It's so nice to see you and Mrs Peel especially taking up this challenge - we want your 4 week reports on the web girls! There's no turning back now!!!
This reminds me of the 3 Musketeers: or shall we say the 3 Dieteers {pirates} Hold on world: there's a thin me coming!!!
WILMA: So nice seeing you again!!! You are right: WE WILL MAKE IT !!!! The more the merrier!!! {grouphug2}
I agree with you fully, the most fantastic feeling is the thrill of getting onto the bathroom scale every month to see your progress and I believe that thrill must be shared!! So, I've asked MR ADMIN to give us a special community to report MY PROGRESS... It's there for you girls! waiting for you to show us your progress at the end of your 4 weeks!!!

Hi All,
Looking forward to starting tomorrow! I got all my info in an email tonight. Dang, that was the longest week of my life!
I know I'll have tons of questions and I'm looking forward to all the support. And maybe I can support some myself!
A little about me.....I'm from West Virgina, living in Fl currently, parttime. Work related for 2 yrs. Maybe more, depends what I want by that time.
Been fat my whole life. Tried every diet known to man and pills, which nearly killed me, BTW....wouldn't recommend it!
Ready to be the mini-me in 2008!

That's just who you're going to be!!
Welcome!!! So nice having you here! :bighug:
...Fat all your life... Girl: that's about to change!!!
How much are you wanting to loose? Don't be shy! We're all in this together!
Keep us posted on how your first day went... remember if you think you may be hungry rather avoid the yogurt and the cheese options as these are the least filling meals.
I wish you all the very best on your 1st day of dieting - remember today - it is your 1st day on the journey to the NEW MINI YOU!! {motorcycle}
HAPPY DIETING!!!
Janet,
Your signature just MADE MY DAY!!!
Welcome!!!!

:wacky: Well, thank you for the greetings ladies!
I'm expecting to lose approx 110lbs. My first day is going great! I had yougurt and fruit meal #1, #2 fish and cauliflower and #3 will be chicken and cauliflower. I'm trying to think clean and minimalist doing this diet, so I'm not going to get all creative and start trying to "tweak" the program to "Janet's 1st Personal Diet." tee-hee........I still have 2 fruits left, too. This is going to be interesting, though, to see if my working nights will have a detremental effect on my results. I hope not!
Anybody done this at night and been successful? Did you do anything different to make it work better for you?
Happy, happy to be here!
Shasha
01-15-2008, 09:51 AM
{hi} Janet
Mmmm  Human Growth Hormone, (your fat burning hormone) is produced at night during your REM (rapid eye movement) sleep cycle. This means that it is very important to have adequate sleep while being on the program.
We DO have quiet a few clients who work night shift and who are successful on the program. {boing}
Because your are unique, your journey to health and wellness will also be a unique journey and your success will always depend on two things:
1) Your ability to follow your eating plan 100%
2) Your personal metabolism
All we ask is that you please always do your very best and try to follow your eating plan 100%. This way you will know that you have have been true to yourself and you would have done the very best you could {goodjob} when the end of your 4 weeks comes and it is your time to get on the scale!!
The wonderful thing about Dr Cohen's 1st Personal Diet Program is that you CAN make your diet as simple or fancy as you like - perhaps go simple in the week and when you have a bit more time over the weekend you could try some of our recipe's in the Forum's RECIPE section or the RECIPE BOOK that you have received...
Yes, these are early days and you've still got a way to go, but it's so nice knowing that this very program has helped so many clients to do exactly what you have set out to do!
GO FOR IT!!!

Hello everyone,
I look forward to getting support from everyone on this forum! Its nice to know that others are going through the same challenge as myself and we can support each other!
A little bit about myself, I am 25 years old and I work in Child Protection. I have been doing it for 1 1/2 years. I am a graduate of the University of Florida (GO GATORS). I was skinny and athletic all during my childhood until I went off to college. You know how you hear about the freshman 15? Well...I was blessed with the freshman 70!!! Wow....its scary to actually see that in print. Through the years, I have struggled to get the weight off. I lost 30lbs. by working out and choosing healthier eating but I am STUCK at 164lbs. If I waver, even in the slightest, and don't workout as much, I pack on the pounds. It is very frustrating to be a 20 somethings girl in the kind of culture we live in and have trouble with weight and body image. My brother just got engaged and will be getting married January 3, 2009.....so my mom and I are on a quest to look our best on that day (she will soon be joining with us but is having some difficulties...she got her application confirmation and blood work, got the blood work done, but hasn't received her diet and its been a week! so we are working on that). But anyway....nothing like not feeling comfortable about your body and being in a million pictures that will be hung for all to see the rest of your life!
So that is where I am at....my target weight is 120lbs. and it feels impossible. I love great food (I'm Italian...its in my blood) and love a great Belgium beer or glass of wine....so this diet is going to be very difficult.
I started on Wednesday and did not cheat once for 2 days....then my coworker had a baby shower and it went all downhill from there. Today is a new day and I am trying once again but was just invited to lunch (that is being prepared for me).
What do I do???? And how do I attend these events and not be rude when I bring my own food!?? How do you go to resturants? I can do without the spirits but what CAN I order???
Can you see I'm a little frustrated??? haha....does anyone have any suggestions???
Thanks! And nice meeting you all! :)
MrsPeel

There are lots of us fellow-dieters here to lend support - congratulations on taking the first steps! Read through the various postings on the Forum and you will be inspired by all the success stories and progress reports - I lost 20 lbs. in my first 4 weeks!
I know the moderators will have good suggestions for you about events, restaurants, etc., but I thought I'd give you my two cents' worth: I am in the film business, so you can imagine the rich food, drink, events and restaurants I would usually be exposed to. I have cut out restaurants completely for the time I am on my 1PD.{noway} It's really not that hard - if I need to meet someone out, I ask if we can go for coffee instead of a meal. I haven't had a negative response to that yet. I recently had jury duty and you can read how I handle that in my post in the My Progress thread. As for events, I have an awards dinner next Saturday, and I will drink club soda or sparkling water, and eat only a small portion (I'm pretty good at estimating grams now) of either steak or chicken, and an undressed green salad.
I, too, love a nice glass of wine, and I thought that giving that up would be the hardest part of the diet, but I don't even give it a thought! You just have to keep your eyes on the prize, and when you hanker after a drink, picture yourself slender and lovely at the wedding and I'll bet the urge  will pass!
YOU CAN DO IT!!!{cheerleader}

Welcome Jaclyn!! :)
I'm on day 17 and looking forward to my weigh-in in 11 more days. I'm really surprised at how easy things have been for me, except for my one evening out and slipping up a little bit, but like Mrs. Peel, I already have a good idea on portion sizes if I'm in a bind again. Whenever I have a thought of something bad food wise, I look to the forum and just read other posts for support, which throws me back into the right frame of mind. I'm so excited how we all will progress and will be able to share our successes!!
Here's to Cohen's and a new US!!

Thank you so much MrsPeel and Inger! The forum is going to be a huge support system for me...I can already tell! I'm glad that eventually I will be able to portion out without weighing every single thing. I am having a very hard time right now and everyday I feel like I am saying "ok...today will be day 1" - hopefully in a few days I will be able to report back that I am on day 3 (at least)! Thanks again! :)
MrsPeel
01-19-2008, 09:42 PM
Jaclyn, you can DEFINITELY do this diet!! And you will be so glad you did - but I wanted to correct the impression I gave that you eventually don't have to weigh your food. :embarrassment: You MUST weigh all the items you eat (except where indicated otherwise, like one apple, etc.) - it is essential to success on 1PD. I only meant that in a pinch, when I'm caught out and can't prepare my own food, I can judge a proper size portion fairly well. But that's the exception, not the rule! :)
Don't worry - it gets to be second nature really quickly!
Jaclyn
01-19-2008, 09:59 PM
haha....gotcha. ;)
iggyjoh40
01-20-2008, 08:20 AM
Yes, I really meant the same thing too Mrs. Peel - I weigh everything and if my husband says he's weighed it already, I even have to double check him because I'm sticking to things 100%, but only if I happen to be caught out, I feel comfortable enough to know portion wise what would be okay. After the first week, I think the weighing just becomes second nature and I just know it's something I have to do, and not only that, but what's 24 weeks of my life as opposed to the rest of my life really worth. I can do this, we all can do this, the results will be well worth it!!
MrsPeel
01-20-2008, 01:47 PM
Inger, that's exactly the way I look at it!! It's only a tiny portion of my life that I have to devote to the diet, and it will gain me a slender, healthy rest of my life! I think that perspective makes the discipline very easy. :flower:

{bouncing} Hey there Jaclyn, Mrs Peel, Inger and Everyone
Hope you all had a stunning weekend?
It is so nice seeing you all buzzing about helping and encouraging eachother - I want to say: well done Gal's :clapping: that's what a forum is all about {goodjob} for being there for one another!
I believe that: the more you focus on your solution, the smaller the problem will become :-)
You Gal's are reminding me of a poem I once read - I can't even remember anything but the last line which says:
YOU CAN'T PICK A ROSE ALL FRAGRANT WITH DUE WITHOUT SOME OF THE FRAGRANCE REMAINING ON YOU!!! :flower:
You Gal's are such SUPER DOOPER DIETERS!! Simply the BEST!!!

01-21-2008, 01:01 PM
This weekend the hubby and me did some family tree searching stuff on the net - right back to 1600's... it is amaising what you can find! Who married who, where and when and how old they were... really cool stuff
Jaclyn, with today's technology, those wedding pic's won't just be around for the rest of your life... they will probably be there long, long after your gone!!! 400 years later someone could be sitting there showing someone else your photo - discussing the gene pool :-)
So, your dieting is not just for now, or for the wedding, but learning correct eating patterns is a healthy legacy that you could pass on to future generations!! You can only give away what you already have. What do you have now? What could you have when you reach your goal, do your Refeeding Program and learn to follow Dr Cohen's Maintenance Guidelines?? Talk about getting a sence of destiny! :flag:
Just a Tip: Socialise is not the same as foodalise... you could go to a baby shower, perhaps have your lunch before the time so that you are not hungry and then enjoy a diet drink, together with a snack, such as your apple while enjoying the company, the freinds, the decor etc.
Just refuse to focus at the food - it's only food, it will always be there!! What sometimes helps is breaking it down into raw ingredients: sugar, flower, oil, cocoa... big deal...
I love what Inger said "24 weeks of my life"... that just puts it all into perspective!!! {grouphug1}

I was on the forum yesterday, but could not post - it seems I hadn't been activated until late in the day. I did use the opportunity to view the recipes and click around to become familiar with the site.
I am pretty busy at work and don't have as much time to click around as I would like. I'll join in discussions when I can. In the meantime, keep the great recipes coming!
