{hi} there Everyone

This thread is specifically devoted to recipe's containing BREAKFAST Ideas ~ please feel welcome to share all delicious MORNING MEAL IDEAS with us:

as someone asked what would b an option 4 breakfast, i wanted 2 share some (havent so far as i thought that everyone would have these ideas anyway)

this one goes as well with the weekly allowance of feta instead of the tuna as a GREEK SALAD -if i run out of feta allowance i fix it as a
COTTAGE CHEESE SALAD or:
TUNA SALAD
canned tuna from allowance, and according 2 daily condition i
choose iceberg salad, lettuce,
tomato, cucumber,
or green pepper
(on days where i dont feel like "cooling" stuff i put zucchini instead of the cucumber).
season with salad herb-mix
(i take dried ones) and 1 spray of olive oil on top
b4 adding some apple-vinegar, salt and pepper.
(i allow myself the one dash of oil, as i'd add that also in case i would cook the whole thing and as i dont use the mayo-allowance)

oh, and speaking of mayonnaise:
EGG-"SALAD" {tweety}
i thought of boiling my egg cutting it in little squares and mixing it with the
1 tsp. of mayo allowance.
add salt, pepper and mayb a few drops of vinegar
(if u like). nice is also fresh parsley or chives
mixed with it. (or add a zing -?- of mustard powder)
enjoy on your cracker!

when i get bored with my {pan} OMLETT -even if i swop 2 exotic versions like "asparagus/zucchini/spinach/onion or squash"-omlett i sometimes boil the egg (the evening b4 i boil 2 and have one then hardboiled, the other in the morning) and add it cut ie in little chunx or slices 2 my whatever sauted veggies (i like mushrooms and zucchini, but thaz just me).

and sometimes i mix my cut hard boiled egg in2 my (raw veggies=) salad instead of tuna, feta or ricotta.

or i have a sweet treat in the morning with the SWEET CREAM-CHEESE AND raw or boiled FRUIZ - as discribed in "something yummy"

ok, shasha!! there u have it-LOL i posted some of my ideas (which a million others have as well) and hope i was being a good girl now!! :angel:

wheter on diet or not, i love my MOZARELLA SALAD :P :
i cut little squares of mozarella (right now: low fat) and tomato.
mix it and season with eighter italian herbs, mixed dried salad-herbs or fresh ones. 1 spray of olive oil (as i'd use it by cooking my veggies also) ;) , vinegar, salt, pepper;
and as long as i'm on the diet and cant add more than 1/2 a tomato, i also add ice berg salad or lettuce 2 reach my veggie allowance.
enjoy it, like i do -cause i think it rox {band}!!!
:laughing:

~~~oh, and speaking of mayonnaise:
BTW: I'D HAVE THAT WITH LETTUCE OR ICEBERG SALAD ON THE SIDE (VINEGAR, S, P, 1 SPRAY OLIVEOIL) -MAYB ADD THE TOMATO IN LITTLE JUNX 2 THE SALAD OR HAVE SALAD AND SOME STIR-FRIED VEGGIES LIKE MUSHROOMS/ZUCCHINI ON TOP OF IT.
REMEMBER SHASHA? THE MAYO-EGG WAS THE FIRST IDEA I HAD WHEN STARTING MY PROGRAM ALMOST 4 WEEX AGO AND WRITING 2 U IN THE INTODUCTION-THREAD ("HUNGRY"). AND AS I'M A GOOD GIRL, I STILL HAVENT BOUGHT ANY LOW FAT MAYO AND DONE THIS!!!!!
{uhm}
THAZ HOW DETERMINED I AM, AND THAZ ALSO Y I'M MAYB STILL HUNGRY EVERY NOW AND THEN.
BTW: I TOOK "SOURCE OF LIFE"-MULTIVITAMIN AS THE "CONSUL" {rofl} ALLOWED IT IN A PREVIOUS MAIL AND I STARTED WONDERING, AS I DIDNT LOOSE WEIGHT 4 QUITE A WHILE..
YESTERDAY, I WROTE THEM THE INGREDIENCE AND THEY TELL ME AFTER ONE WEEK OF TAKING IT THAT THIS VITAMINPRODUCT IS NOT SUITABLE 4 THE PROGRAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!! !! !
{explode}
(THE PRODUCT IS FROM THE US; SO THEY COULD HAVE KNOWN IT OR ASK ME IN THE FIRST PLACE B4 MAKING ME DIET WITH NEXT 2 NO EFFECT).
SO, WHEN I DONT DO ALL THAT GOOD ON MY COMING SOON WEIGH DAY, DONT BLAME ME, CAUSE I'M ON TRACK 268,99% (DONT EVEN DO MY LOVED EGG SALAD AS LOW FAT MAYO IN AUSTRIA IS STILL QUITE FAT, I BELIEVE!!!!)
{hi} there Cyberella
{goodjob} and thank you :bighug: for sharing all your breakfast ideas...
They sound really nice!
I'm sorry to hear about the vitamin - I don't think this will have a lasting impact and I do hope that you will do very well... remember, plateau's are part of the process... only one tip for your and everyone: don't weigh yourself just prior to menstruation.
We really look forward to seeing your progress!
Thanks again for the lovely recipe ideas! :love7:
I love the pictures. My first week I took pictures of all of my dinners on my mobile and sent them to my friend who was starting. It helped me make it feel a little more official, and I have fun trying to make my dinner look super yummy (and fancy) on my plate. Thanks for all the great recipe ideas!
Well ladies... I am so jealous of you all. I love breakfast and I love eggs, however they are not in my diet :( So I have become great friends with the yoghurt and fruit, along with my cheese and vege allowance. Enjoy those omelets for me!
Ashmomofk,
try the zucchini hashbrowns. I cook the onion first (I'm not a big fan of onion so I lightly carmelize it first) but this is my favorite. It's quick and easy and different and doesn't have to much 'egg' flavor.
You aren't allowed ANY egg?? Wow....I felt bad only getting one/day! Are you SURE you can't have one egg/day? Mine is in my first meal choices (and the line that it's in is in a smaller font size than the other choices)....I'd double check if I were you.....smile!
The zucchini pancakes/hashbrowns contain an egg....
Hi PhyllisRis,
I've noticed people list hardboiled egg as a recipe for breakfast. Is this allowed? If so, this will make my life a whole lot easier!
ZUCCHINI PANCAKES
Zucchini (allowance minus 15 grams) (or the Brits call them baby marrow)
15g Onion, diced (rest of allowance) (OR....I like them with only 10g. of onion)
1 medium egg
3 Saltine crackers
Salt, pepper + herbs to taste
Method:
Grate zucchini and add the onion. Beat egg into vegetable mix. Crush crackers and add to mix. Pour into fry pan in small rounds and cook on medium high, flipping them over once the first side is browned. OR...pour into fry pan as one large pancake.
Hi All,
This morning I tried a variation on Phyllis's Zuc. pancake ( I didn't have any zuc's) I had my good ole spagetti squah and mashed cauliflower. I was really good, like a quiche.
I cooked up some chopped onion & green pepper.
Put in a bowl:
30 grams cauliflower
30 grams sp. squash
a sprinkle of the onion & green pepper(5g)
1 egg
3 saltine crackers crumbled up.
Mix it up & poor into hot frying pan... yummy.:drool:
Those sound good if I could eat eggs! Wonder what it would be like without the egg? Maybe yogurt could bind it all together?:thinking:
Hi,
I'm new to the diet, but have been reading through the forum, especially the recipe section. I have an idea to make crepes for breakfast, but I'm not sure if it would be "allowed". The way I would make it would be to use an egg, a packet of splenda, and tiny bit of water - perhaps even some cinnamon. Whip it up and pour it into a pan to cook and then flip once so that both sides get lightly browned. Then I would stuff it with either an apple or peach sliced up and baked with cinnamon and a packet of splenda. I'm not quite sure what vegetable I would add as a side dish. Would this be allowed? If so, any suggestions for the veggie?
Okay, so I didn't wait for a response and decided to make a crepe for breakfast. I probably sabotaged myself but from what I've read on here, other people have added fruit to various meals.
For my veggie, I seasoned spaghetti squash with cinnamon and 1/2 packet of splenda, added in a crumbled saltine just because, and then shaped into a patty and fried in a skillet in butter flavored PAM.
For the crepe, I whipped my egg with 1/2 a packet of splenda so that it was pretty frothy. Then poured it into a skillet sprayed with the butter flavored PAM and cooked for a very short time on both sides.
For the filling I used 1/2 of an apple sliced into thin wedges. Instead of baking it, I seasoned with cinnamon, a tiny bit of splenda, added maybe 1/8 cup of water and stuck in the microwave for about 2 minutes. There was a little bit of flavored water leftover, but I just dumped it along with the apple on the crepe, folded it and ate it. :)
It was delicious, but I think it would have been even better if I had used a peach instead of an apple.
Nina, your recipe sounds wonderful and can't wait to try it! Keep posting your ideas! This morning I made the zucchini pancakes but added grated apple which I thought was very good. Also love them without the fruit too though.
Nina,
I have got to agree with gmagirl. That crepe recipe sounds amazing; I think that you can add a fruit serving to a meal, as long as it is only one serving. I can't wait to try this recipe out for myself.
Southwestern Scramble
Egg (allowance)
Tomato + Onion (half allowance)
Mushroom (Other half of allowance)
Cilantro
Garlic
Scramble/cook the eggs like you normally would. Poach the mushroom in a brine/vinegar solution until they're tender. Put the tomato/onion/cilantro/garlic in a blender until smooth to make a really simple and basic salsa verde.
Serve the eggs on a plate. Smother that in mushrooms. Cover that in salsa. Eat.
I liked the photos too!
I teach and need to leave the house by 6:30 so I grab 2 celery stalks and 2 low fat string cheese to munch on on the way to work. I drink home brewed green iced tea and I am good to go. I wish I could have milk in my coffee. I miss my coffee and I don't like it black.
Weekends I make the spinich mushroom and onion one egg omlet. MMMM MMMM GOOD!!!
