Hi Everyone,
I started on Friday, April 4th - this is my 10th day. I was doing really well, but I have pneumonia and am taking it easy. The first week was incredible! I know you are not suppose to weigh yourself for a month, but I weigh myself everyday, so I am telling myself I can only weigh once a week. I weighed myself this past Friday and I had lost 8 pounds and 3 1/2 inches!!
I have Graves' disease, so my metabolism is way slow and my weight just kept creeping up. I heard about this diet from a friend who had lost 100lbs. and thought I would give it a try.
I wasn't much of a vegetable eater or fruits for that matter, but I find myself looking forward to my meals. I ate tuna on crackers and thought I was going to gag, but I didn't.
I just want to be healthy. Good luck to everyone.

Wow! First welcome, and I hope you are feeling better very soon! I am so happy your first week was so successful. Keep focused! When you have a week like that it is easy too!:) I am hoping this diet helps your metabolism too...it sure seems to for everyone. I'll be thinking of you as you recover, and sending good thoughts your way!:love1:
Welcome again, and keep posting...I would love to hear the progress! (Maybe your friend has posted, or can...wow a 100 pounds) The best progress is getting healthier. So take care of you!

Welcome Mortymom!
Kudos for you to staying on with pneumonia of all things! Man, that's dedication.
I tried canned chicken breast mixed with my 1tsp of mayo and curry powder on crackers, it was actually not too bad (if you like curry powder).
Finally, congrats on a phenomenal first week! Keep up the great work.
Welcome Mortymom:party1:!
The beginning is hard, but you'll get used to it, and some people really start loving food they never thought even trying!
At the beginning I was wondering why even bother with inventing some yummy meals..cuz then I will be too sad when I was done with it (at the beginning they do look small)...but now I am cooking more and more yumm, cuz even the appetite is slowing down.
Good luck!

{hi} there Mortymom
A very WARM WELCOME TO YOU! :bighug:
Sorry to hear that you are ill with Pneumonia - hope that you've been to see your personal doctor? And that you will feel much better soon :comfort:
Well done on having lost 8 pounds and 3 1/2 inches so far - please try not to weigh more than once in 4 weeks as per Dr Cohen's instructions...
When I was reading your post I was reminded of the computer principle GIGO - garbage in, garbage out... and I'm so proud of you for eating your veggies and your fruit! {goodjob} on learning healthier eating patterns.
Those veggies and fruits are full of good nutrients and anti-oxidants that will help to give your system a boost!
In cold weather and because you are sick, I recommend you make warm foods - you could try making a quick and easy chicken soup (nice and filling) by microwaving your cut chicken with a bit of onion, celery, cauliflower, zucchini, some spinach and some salt and herbs in a cup of boiling water. Once the chicken is cooked (about 7 minutes) put the above pieces into a blender. You may add a cracker or two to thicken while blending. ENJOY!
Always remember, your children will follow the example you live...
Once again a VERY WARM WELCOME!!!
