hi everyone,
i have been on the plan for a few weeks now but this is the first time i have signed up to be part of the message board. i have been having some trouble and i thought others might be able to help! last summer i stuck with the diet plan for 2 weeks and lost about 7 lbs. i felt amazing! but i am an active swimmer and waterpolo player, and a team trip kinda threw me off. so i restarted this year but am already having trouble sticking with it (its the middle of swim season which = team dinners, etc.). i know i can do this, but i always fall apart around dinner time. any suggestions? i appreciate any help/support!
thanks,
watergirl

Welcome Watergirl!:)

It sounds like you are struggling a bit....I am not an expert since I've been on this diet for five weeks, but what I do is prepare foods ahead of time and will bring them to gatherings. Usually nobody says anything and if they do I just am the walking advertiser for 1stpersonal! I know about those times when you want to break down!!! Mine is after work so I have my apple then and lots of water...my tummy feels full and I crunch on that apple, somewhat of a destresser! Listen to MY music and I am good to go. Not sure if this helps, but just know I am rooting for you! Good luck and keep posting!:clapping3: momof4

Hey Watergirl -
Welcome! I know the dinner times are hard for me too. It has been a real adjustment for me as I've elected to cut out most evening social events for these beginning 12 weeks. I decided that for me, it would be the easiest way to stick to teh program. There are still times at night when I don't really want to fix dinner - but I just power through and try to enjoy every bite. Are your team dinners at restaurants? You could try calling in advance and asking them to help come up with something that works for your plan? Just a thought.

Best of luck!

{hi} there Watergirl313

A very warm welcome to you :bighug:

I'm so glad that you've come - it shows your determination to make this work! And, that's exactly what we want you to do - reach your dream and your goal weight!

Always remember YOU are the only person that can make this work for you: If it is to be, it is up to me...

Certainly the best approach would be what Momof4 said: take your food with you... this way you know that you are following your Doctor's Diet!

If all else fails, please keep these tips in mind:

Your personal diet program is made out of the precise food items and weights you need to take. When eating out or entertaining etc, the best would be to have a kitchen in which you can prepare your food just like at home. Unfortunately, this is not always practical and you may need to eat the available foods. Therefore, a setback of your diet is unavoidable but you can try and minimize the setback by eating smart.

Try to find food items that are allowed on your diet (plain yogurt, hardboiled egg, vegetables, canned tuna and the likes). Eating these foods – even with no scale to weigh the foods – is better than eating a sandwich or a hamburger.

Eating out while you on a personal diet program where all your food intake is calculated carefully, might be a challenge. Some brave customers take their kitchen scale with them to the restaurant and order just a green salad. Others go out but just drink coffee / water. Eating out while on the program will set your progress back and we strongly recommend trying and avoiding this. If you have to go, just order a small green salad with a low-fat dressing on the side. This will help in having a smaller setback.

Hopefully, by eating smart the setback will not be as bad.

We look forward to seeing YOUR SUCCESS {cheerleader} YOU CAN DO IT!!!
