Gotta ask this...:innocent4:

How do you fight with it? Or you have no problems at all?

My first 12 days - nothing:eyebrow:!!! I took and did everything consultant told me to, nothing. So I had to do the colon cleanse and felt so much better afterwards. I know - I know - I waited as long as I could, but it was my last option.

My consultant said to poop twice a week is enough because we dont have so much carbs...but again - I hear colon cancer can also be a result of constipation specially if you eat meat? So...I'm no panicking and never been afraid of cancer ... just a thought of having meat falling apart in me for 12 days is kind of scarry... I got terrible skin - you could tell the body started poisoning itself.

Now I bought some tea but the pharmasist told me not to use it for more than 2 weeks - or my intestines will get "lazy" and might get constipated even after the diet.

Again - I tried everything - I drink warm water first thing in the morning, black coffee, pshyllium husks, massages...nothing, nada, niente...

Anyone else having same problems:thinking:?

Hey maya - I know exactly what you're talking about! I had the same problem at 8 weeks into the diet. It was miserable! I ended up cutting out red meat for a few days, and skipped the cheese and yogurt options, I only ate them a couple of times a week anyway. Metamucil caplets had been recommended, so I tried that - it helped.

Good luck!

Isn't it great and weird at the same time, that we can discuss this here... (=

I found some tea that's working...not really nicely, but it works...if you know what I mean.:innocent4:..

You know - I have yogurt every morning...the thing is - I found that Greek non fat yogurt - its really thick and has 10 g of Protein... PLEASE :praying:dont take that away from me - its the meal I live for now... I can't wait to go to bed cuz I know I will wake up and have my sliced apple sprinkled with cinnamon and over it my yogurt...and black coffee - IT IS HEAVEN{boing}!!! I am literally eating that for half an hour and it fills me up more than lunch and dinner...

I was never a meat/egg eater, never...so having one egg with veggies in the morning - oh God... I am more fruit/bread eater.

I think I would be totally flat whole day if I had egg for breakfast, meat for lunch and meat for dinner...

That yogurt and apple is helping me to stick with the diet...:)

{hi} there Maya

Have you tried cooking your apple (cut up in little pieces) in the microwave in some diet cola soda? (for about 5 minutes) I recommend you may the apple the night before so it cools, then you can sprinkle this with cinnamon and sweetener and have with your yummy yogurt MmmmmMMmmmmm {cheerleader}

The cooked apple is also a delicious snack on your crackers during the day…

Hi ladies,

I just passed my eight week mark and had an big issue with constipation this week as well. I have had some difficulty with constipation as well throughout my the time on the diet. If you find a good solution, please let me know. I used to take Fibercon, but I don't think that is allowed on the diet.

Is tea an issue? I have been drinking more tea than coffee since we can't have milk. I always drink all my water, so that is not a problem for me.

I think I might have opted for the cheese/yogurt option too much as I usually stick with fish or chicken.

Talk to you soon,
Swimmer

{hi} there Everyone

Dr Cohen says to please remember that bowel movement twice a week is sufficient while you are on the Eating Plan. This is because you have reduced your intake of starch particularly. Please do not assume that a change in bowel movement indicates constipation.

You may take a fibre supplement such as Duphalac, Linseed or Psyllium Husks while being on the program.

Hey all, I just wanted to jump onto this thread to tell you about something I have discovered in the past two weeks that really seems to help with this little problem. :hypnotic: I was reading on one of the other boards about eating mangos and that the peeling is full of fiber and nutrition. They also mentioned that this is the way the natives eat the fruit. Now I would never have thought about eating the peeling because it is tough and chewy. But, if you just slice off the pieces with the peeling and eat it that way, not so bad. But anyway, for the past two weeks, at least twice a week, I have been eating my mango with the peeling on and every time, without fail, things get moving on the day after. I too was drinking a tea a couple of times a week to help in this department, which tasted like licorice and I hate that taste, but no more. I have found my solution. I wanted to share this information to see if it might help some of you as well. :party1:

I don't know if you can do this on the diet. But anyone that does a colon cleanse I found a winner(for me). It's not a running to the bathroom type. It is a month cleansing not harse at all. called colonix found it online. It helps clean out old build up.

I am having some constipation issues...I know I have to go...but I can't :(

I will need to try some of your suggestions...are we allowed to do a colon cleanse at the same time as the diet? I'd love to get rid of all the old junk in my system.

I will add another question. I was wondering if we are allowed to do a whole body cleanse too? I totally love doing cleanses because I usually loose about 10 pounds:) I have not done one since I stopped drinking pop, eating junk and would love to do one again. I have been thinking about it for about 2 weeks and kept on forgetting to ask.

Pam,
Have you tried cantaloupe? I'm going to try the mango with peel at lunch. Good luck.

Mei Mei,
I love cantaloupe!! I don't have issues with constipation (thank goodness). I just LOVE how I feel after I do a cleanse:) I do not like the taste of mango. Yuck! I got one last week to try it and was not impressed. Maybe we just don't have nice tasting mango's in Ohio.

I ate the Mangos today--which I love. I cut them up bite size with the peel. It wasn't bad. I have a bit of a tummy ache now though... Maybe only half the peel next time. I haven't had "that" problem either yet, and I pray I don't. We can pick mangos off the tree in our backyard in Fla. :clapping3: How exocit and delicious!:applause:

Have you ever had a Colonic? I am having the same issue but only for a few days. I got a colonic and it made me feel better and my face has cleared up.
