She is struggling with her weight at the moment. I am talking up the 1PD as much as I can but I know she is the one that has to decide to take eating under control!

My whole family has noticed, especially my husband. I am hoping he will give it a go as well. He is convinced the Adkin's is for him, but he is not having great success.

It just comes down to what you want to put up with I guess! I refused to buy any bigger clothes!!!! When my fat clothes became tight , I knew I was in trouble and needed drastic measures, so here I am!

I hope when my husband and daughter see the end result, they will think a little more seriously about it.

Hi, lfulwood!

Tell your hubby that my hubby did the Atkins diet several years ago, with rapid and impressive results, but as soon as he completed it, he regained all the weight and then some even more rapidly! :sadeyes: The amount of fat you consume on the Atkiins diet just lays in wait for you, and then, BAM!

My hubby is on the 1PD now and is within 15 pounds of his goal weight, and he is looking fine! When he did the Atkins, his face looked slimmer and he lost some overall body weight, but on 1PD he has lost in the big trouble area, the waist and trunk. He is now down 2 pants sizes and his belts are all too big! Also, he was able to go off blood pressure meds in the first week and now maintains his own nice low numbers. :)

That was my motivation, too. I've been talking and talking and talking every year about losing weight. Every Jan it was "THIS will be THE year it happens" year. Well 10 years later...THIS YEAR, however, is THE year. Once my fat clothes were tight (size 20s and I'm only 5'3!!) I knew I really had to do something. I'm only 33 and I know that each year it gets harder and harder. I was finally tired of being so unhappy with myself. I used to tell people that the only thing I can complain about in my life is my weight. I have a wonderful husband that adores (even when I'm fat!) and the feeling is mutual!! I have two beautiful boys and we're a family that laughs a lot. I enjoy my job and I have a very supportive extended family. This year is my 10th wedding anniversary. I did not look how I wanted to on my first wedding day 10 years ago. My husband wants us to renew our vows and I just wanted to feel like me again. To actually look on the outside the way he sees me. I see it too, I just want everyone else to, also. Well, 9 weeks in and I'm almost halfway to my goal. I can't believe it but I tell everyone about this wonderful diet! Best of luck to you. You're going to be such a hottie when you're done. I think you're already beautiful in your pictures so any improvement on that is just icing on the cake. Good for you for taking control and getting this done. Your husband and daughter will surely come around, but you are right. They will have to do so when they are truly ready.

I had to laugh at your description of yourself as feeling like a "sausage" in that dress. I have used that term to describe how I feel too (not lately thanks to 1PD), but especially when I used to squeeze into tights or pantyhose. My poor husband... not the most attractive image to portray to him. Of course, he does love sausage...
