{pot} Ok guys. This is the coffee corner. Coffee is served. Espresso or just black – no milk is allowed on the program. Spell it out … What do you think, why, where, who?!

{hi} Secretary
I'm sad that nobody's come for coffee yet :crying:
I know this is not the place to put recipe's, but I'm thinking perhaps someone will come if we tell them how to make Cheese Cake to enjoy with their the coffee while they chat with us:
It's really easy guys, all you need is one willing dieter and a meal 2 option:
Take 2 x cracker portions such as cracker bread or provitas or saltine's and place your smooth cottage cheese allowance mixed with some liquid sweetener on top. Take 1 kiwi fruit (or any other fruit which you prefer) from your allowance and slice it thinly on top - there you have a really fancy sweet treat that looks so tempting that your non dieting freinds will want to eat it too!
Remember to eat your vegetables and then follow with desert and coffee directly afterwards.
Then while you are having your coffee and cheese cake, come chat with us and let us know what you're thinking...

Coffee anyone?
No milk is allowed on the first phase of the program. Cow milk, soymilk, milk powder, coffee whitener, nothing at all
Following are variety of coffee drinks you may drink and enjoy while on the program:
First on the list is the good and old drip brewed coffee. (I always wanted one of those automated coffee makers that you set up before you go to bed and then wakes up in the morning with the wonderful coffee aroma …)
Next is the espresso, which is the base of all cappuccino drinks but without the milk
Single espresso is usually a 1-ounce shot of velvety coffee drink; strong, full-bodied, bursting with coffee aroma and so, so Italian.
Double espresso is a 2-ounce shot that not only wakes you up but also clears your mind and your vision that becomes crystal clear
The Americano is an excellent way to enjoy a good cup of strong coffee. It is based on a single shot of espresso with the rest of the cup filled on with hot water. This makes a smooth cup of coffee similar to a drip brewed coffee.
During re-feeding you may start adding milk to your menu (milk is back) but you are advised to wait with the cappucino until you are done with the diet:
Cappuccino is considered the best coffee with milk. It is divided into three: 1/3 Espresso, 1/3 milk and 1/3 milk foam. Making the thick foam correctly is the pride of the experienced coffee maker.
Latte is a shot of espresso with lots of hot milk and milk foam (with a weaker flavor than Cappuccino).
There are many more versions but these are the basics.

{hi} Wilma
THANK YOU for all this interesting coffee info
I've got one more idea that I'd like to add... we'll call it Cuppachino á la Shasha
This one is perfect for clients who give their diet one look and think {scream} 'how am I ever going to drink black coffee?'' you can now use this recipe to make diet Cuppuccino:
Place 1 1/2 tsp of coffee powder into a blender and add just a bit (50ml) or so of boiling water, put the lid on and hold down securely. (Hot water expands so be careful!) Start the blender on 1, then go to max. Carefully lift the smaller lid / lid and add more boiling water.
You will find the coffee turns brown because of all the air bubbles and it goes foamy :-)
Leave to blend for a good 30 seconds or so and perhaps add 1 or 2 ice cubes while blending. The foam will not last indefinately and this is why I recommend the ice cubes, it helps to cool the coffee down so you can enjoy it while it still has plenty of bubbles...
Pour into your favourite mug and sprinkle with a touch of cinnamon and sweetener and ENJOY!!! {taz} and oh, you can sprinkle a bit of that cinnamon and sweetener onto a cracker and make a quick yet delicious diet cookie too!!!

Hi, all you moderators! I thought it was about time one of us dieters joined you for coffee - so I poured myself a cup and here I am.
Actually, drinking coffee and tea black is the hardest part of the diet for me! I'm a dairy queen, for sure, and it's been a challenge. But I am so committed to this plan!
The person who introduced me to 1PD reached her target weight in approximately six months, and she was a lifelong overweight person. That really inspired me, as I have been slender most of my life and only began gaining weight in my forties. But then I really made up for it by steadily gaining until I could hardly recognize myself.
So, black coffee in hand, I am heading down the road from 251 to 160 (or 155, if I'm really successful!). Yikes!

CUP'S UP MRS PEEL! CUP'S UP!! {friendhug}
I'm really glad you've come!! Thank you :flirt:
Firstly, I admire your courage! Taking the decision to start this road is not easy... but, I know in the end you, like your freind will be so glad you did!
Weighing 251 pounds is no joke:( - other people around just don't know how uncomfortable this is or how much pain you may be going through... the extra weight is such a strain on your feet, knees and back. It's hard to find clothes that you like and ones that you feel comfortable in... the worst is looking in the mirror - like you say you don't even recognise yourself anymore.
People judge a book by it's cover and it is so unfare! You may look fat on the outside, but, there's a thin girl inside just waiting to come again!
99% of people out there do not understand that being overweight is an illness that can be treated by the correct eating plan.
The worst thing about obesity syndrome is that it starts small and then becomes bigger and bigger... it snow balls and before you know it you have an Avalanche that is all out of control. The more weight you gain, the faster you gain more weight!!! It becomes scarey to say the least! Out of control...
You know the health risks and I'm sure you've tried dieting, but we all know how incorrect eating just makes the problem go from bad to worse... because regular diets DO NOT bring your hormones into a balance the way that Dr Cohen's program does.
Like I said earlier: YOU HAVE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE!!! No more of this gaining weight stuff!!!
The good news is that this is now all something of the past for you - everyday from here on, you are moving closer, one day at a time...
One day further away from the girl you don't know and one day closer back to the girl that you do know: the one who is still there deep inside waiting within you... the one who feels good about herself and who is everything she dreams of being: THE REAL YOU!!!
We're going to find THAT GIRL!!
Love you Mrs PEEL  you can do it!

Good Morning,
Thought I'd pour myself a cup this morning too. I'm a huge cream or flavor taker in my coffee. What to do now.... I add cinnamon in my coffee before I brew it in the morning it still doesn't give me cream but it does add some flavor for a bit of a change. I HAVE to keep in mind how great I'll look without it.
I did have a hard weekend with food and fell off the bus... so here I am reading and getting inspired by you all.... Thanks

Hey 757! I'm having my coffee right now too! (I drink a lot). Before this program I was always "Extra large coffee, extra cream, Extra Sugar). That changed to 2 Splenda ... and now it's BLACK! I'm totally used to it. What helped was buying a really good coffee grinder so that the coffee flavors/oils come out. The cinnamon is good too - although it makes such a mess in my cup. I wonder if I add it to the filter before brewing if that might help.
Anyway, glad to hear you're on the program. Have a great morning! - Shawn

Shawn, try putting a stick of cinnamon in the coffee filter with the grounds - it gives a nice subtle flavor to the brew!
Or try the Indian style - pop a couple of cardamom seeds in the filter for a hint of spice.
Cups up!

Mrs. Peel to the rescue again!!! Thanks! The cinnamon stick was a great idea - it added just enough of a flavor for the coffee to be a little different than usual, but not so much as to be overwhelming. The best part - no dirty cup with cinnamon stuck to the sides :)

Mrs Peel adding Cardamom seeds sound excellent I have before cohen tasted a idian yoghurt ice cream called Khalfi Mali something like that and the Cardamom seeds taste really came through!!Question though with the coffee do I break the pods open to get to the seeds or will that be to strong or do I just use just the PODS!!I think to add the cinnamon stick and Cardamom seeds together would make an amazing coffee taste I can't wait to get HOME and try that!!!Have a GREAT DAY!!!

Hi, Shawn, Pumbza, and 757flyer!
Using both spices gives an exotic, chai-like edge to the coffee, but either one alone is lovely, too. Pumbza, I use just the cardamom seeds, not the whole pod.
I, too, miss the cream or half & half in my coffee, but I have grown used to the black cuppa joe - in some ways, it's easier because you can always get black coffee, but sometimes can't get a decent creamer!

Mrs Peel coffee was great and I have two cups daily before I go to bed because thats when I only go to bed at say about 12:00am to 1am so the long period between eating and bed sometimes needs some help and the coffee is great for that!!!Ha Ha!!:innocent4:The coffee really has a nice taste with the cardamin seeds and cinamin sticks YES nearly like TIA CHI (or something Like THAT!!)!Here a lot of people drink creamer with there coffe I am fortunate in that I only liked milk with mine I believe CREAMER is really not good for anyone why they make it and sell it to PEOPLE to get hocked on I just don't know but thats advertising!!!I am steadily becoming a fan of black strong aromatic coffee and GREEN TEA I believe Green Tea is very Medicinal for people so thats a GOOD:innocent3: think I am becoming Healthier!!!Have a BRILLIANT DAY!!!

Hi Phyllisris NO and I am taking the attitude like SEAN maybe we are over thinking the spices bit because firstly its a small amount and secondly its just for favour its not like we are taking grams of it otherwise lets JUST keep on losing! We can do it!!!Have a NICE DAY!!:innocent3:

Ok Coffee lovers
This morning I just tried brewing my coffee with the standard cinnamon and then added some freshly ground nutmeg to it before I brewed it, I have to say another delight for those who like a little flavor (i.e. cream).
