Hi everyone!
im a newbie (well sort of)
im already on week #5. i was too shy to verbalize my story
so here it is ....
im a 32 year old
working mother of a very spirited 2 year old boy
extremely supportive husband
very active lifestyle in high school and college.
then working life became very sedentary
enter marriage, moving away from family and friends, (hence the name island girl)
pregnancy, child birth and it al wentl downhill from there
was always a 145lb girl in High school
college i was 165lb
then became a whopping 185lb during marriage
enter pregnancy and tipped the scales at 270lbs after giving birth
i tried everything to lose the weight, name it, ive done it. and i never seemed to break the 200lb mark
my doctor finally told me
"YOU BETTER LOSE WEIGHT OR YOULL BE A DIABETIC IN 6 MONTHS. GET ON THE COHEN DIET"
it actually took me MONTHS to get myself to move forward with the diet. and now being on week #5 im so glad i did it!
i started the program at 215lbs. and after the first month, i finally broke the 200lb mark and am now 196lbs!
i have a long way to go...need to lose a total of 74lbs to hit my goal
but i am taking it ONE MEAL AT A TIME, ONE DAY AT A TIME
i love reading and re reading the success stories
not to mention looking at all the before and after photos.
it keeps me going
:)
