Hi Everyone,

I used to be skinny a couple of decades back but soon started gaining weight non-stop.
Culprit #1 - Rice for dinner. I am Asian so rice is a staple food. Before I got married, I've stopped taking rice for dinner. My husband's family are all rice eaters (3 boys!) so soon after getting married, I gained 10lbs simply for taking rice at dinner.
Culprit #2 - Relocation. I have relocated from my home country to HK and food here is twice the size and twice as oily than the food I am used to. With this, I've gained a steady 5-8lbs each year.

Due to my height and bone structure, locals will normally think I am just 10-15lbs overweight. In fact, I am 50!

Precisely because I still get to deceive people about my weight, I didn't give it much attention. However, my struggle with weight came to a point that I start to feel bad about myself because I can no longer wear nice clothes. Besides, buying clothes for my size IS costly since I need to go to specialty shops that sells my size (this is asia and majority of the ladies are skinny here).

I've tried slimming treatments, I've tried different kinds of diet programs and nothing seems to work. I just become heavier year after year after year.

I read about Cohen's from a news article (from my home country) and started to be interested. I have my doubts but in the end registered. Not until I saw a friend who posted her photo on Facebook as a Cohen graduate did I become a believer! It's amazing how she has lost 50lbs in 4.5 months! I want to be that person too!

So here I am now... On my 3rd week in the program. So far I have lost 16lbs and is at my skinniest over the last 4 years! I am now able to wear my European holiday clothes again. I hope to be able to make good progress and reach my goal weight soon!

I'll be creating a separate progress diary and hope we can all encourage each other to reach our targets. It's great to be here!

Regards,
formydaughter

Thanks Melbee! Sad to say that was more on a quick start only and the entire week last week the scale didn't budge... huhuhu... :((

My pants are slightly more loose now though I still want the weight to go down.. Too desperate I was having dreams that my weight has dropped by 23lbs already! haha! This is bad..

Hubby's birthday is coming up and no idea how or where to celebrate his birthday without sacrificing my diet.

You could try going to a fairly nice place and arranging in advance to have your meal prepared. I went on a long weekend for our anniversary and had the hotel restaurant prepare my exact portion of tenderloin filet and asparagus. He even made a yummy kiwi desert for me that was completely correct for my program! Then at breakfast he fixed spinach with an egg - exactly my portions - and a thing with oranges!

Thanks PattyA! Will definitely try that.

4 days before my big weigh-in. Finally... the scale budged! After 1.5wks of no weight loss, the scale finally moved again! Yay! That's 18lbs in total now! I'm getting really energized now. :)

After my weigh-in, I hope to be able to post in the my progress page. I'm now checking if I can find a good before picture to share. Hopefully I can find one.
